Gameday – PHI at NYG

Posted: December 17th, 2017 | Author: | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 947 Comments »

Carson Wentz isn’t the only starter who will be missing today.

Stefen Wisniewski is out. That means we’ll probably see Isaac Seumalo at LG. Doug Pederson wouldn’t say whether it would be him or Chance Warmack when asked on Friday. The fact that Warmack got the first shot last week and then was replaced by Seumalo makes me think they’ll stick with Seumalo.

There is an argument for going with Warmack. He struggled vs Aaron Donald, who is a quick, athletic DT. The Giants have bigger, stronger guys. Warmack can usually handle size and strength.

UPDATE…

The Eagles might play both guys and stick with the one who performs the best. Neither is an ideal option.

Rasul Douglas is inactive. He lost his spot to Bryan Braman, who will be a key STer.

  • SteveH

I love like 99% of what Howie has done but… that contract extension for Warmack. I wonder how much influence Stoutland exerted with that, because I have a hard time believing the team would have extended him based on performance.

One aspect of our game that’s been dormant with Wentz has been the quick screen to the wideouts. Wentz just doesn’t do that well. I wonder if with Foles we go back to that a little bit, he does throw an accurate short ball with good touch.

    • Crus57

I don’t mind that Wentz isn’t great at quick screens to the WRs, because our WRs aren’t great at quick screens to the WRs too, most of the time. And let’s not mention the screen to the TE out wide.

    • Mr. Magee

Eagles signed Warmack to an extension?????

  • T_S_O_P

Seems like less than a week. Go Eagles!

  • GermanEagle

    *NewsFLash

    GE is watching LIVE.

  • Insomniac

    Warmack starting. RIP Foles

  • Dragon_Eagle

Opening play – Ajayi starts in order to draw attention. He lines up left, play action pass, Ajayi is there to clean up for Warmack/Seumalo, Foles throws 50 yards to Torrey Smith if the block is successful. If not, bad start. Point is to send the message that the Giants DBs better stay honest, then we start the ball control offense,

  • sonofdman

I posted this on the last thread, but I didn’t realize a new thread was up:

My brother lives in LA and send the LA sports people all week have been saying the Eagles didn’t really beat the Rams, but the Rams beat themselves. That is was the Rams’ mistakes that caused them to lose.

I thought this was interesting, especially in light of all the people on here last week saying how the only reason the Rams were in the game was the Eagles’ mistakes.

    • Dragon_Eagle

What do all eleven LA Rams fans know about football?

  • scratcherk

    Get’em

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Good job Mills

  • scratcherk

    good coverage by finger wag

  • Dragon_Eagle

Do mine ears deceive me? Sounds like Eagles Nation is representing today.

  • scratcherk

    come on…

  • A_T_G

    Time for a pick b

  • sonofdman

Every time they run the ball is a gift for us.

  • kajomo

If you want to know why some of us are down on our chances of winning with Foles just watch this defense. They have been downright bad the last few weeks

    • xeynon

I cut them some slack against the Seahawks and Rams. Those are well-coached teams with excellent offensive players. But stinking it up against the Giants is less excusable.

      • kajomo

I get that, but 3 straight weeks starts to look like a trend

  • scratcherk

    fuck ys

  • DarthBanner

Hey defense, how about you rally instead of fold?

  • sonofdman

    What the fuck?

  • sonofdman

Defense chants at an away game!

  • scratcherk

    good goode

  • DarthBanner

    Stupid penalty by Mills

  • scratcherk

lol, didn t even realize this was an away game til now

  • Insomniac

    Might be a long day..

    • sonofdman

might be hard to sleep tonight

    • scratcherk

i have faith that d will adjust

      • Insomniac

        Hopefully

  • bobeph

the worst thing that could happen to foles, just happened, to have to come from behind

    • jshort

      only down 2 fg’s

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Its Eagles-Giants. Ignore the records.

  • xeynon

Lousy start for the defense. Eli is a savvy veteran QB but is playing with dogshit skill players behind a dogshit offensive line. The only thing they can do even remotely effectively is throw short passes. Stopping this offense should not be that hard.

  • A_T_G

That was frustrating, but it doesn’t seem sustainable for the Giants.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Got out coached on that drive. Hopefully we adjust before halftime.

Stupid penalties on D. How the fuck do we have so many offsides. I hate how sloppy this team plays to start games.

  • DarthBanner

Certainly not looking like a team with the next man up mentality.

    • sonofdman

      Wentz didn’t play defense.

      • kajomo

Yes but Wentz can win shootouts. I’m not so sure Foles can.

        • Donald Kalinowski

When did Wentz win in a shootout?

          • kajomo

Last week. Foles scored all of 6 points, 3 of which came from Chris Long.

    • A_T_G

      Why do you say that?

      • DarthBanner

Multiple penalties and letting the giants march right down the field for a TD. After all the broadcast talk about the upbeat locker room, it didn’t translate onto the field to start the game.

  • Howie Littlefinger

I could see us going 1 and done playing D like that

  • Dave

This is the same thing Eli did last time. Our CBs are not good in coverage and are exposed playing off coverage against quick short passes.

I’m baffled other teams did not use this scheme against us after the first Giants game.

    • Insomniac

      Yup.

    • kajomo

I find it amazing that so many are down on Mills, but Darby gets a free pass. He has zero impact and gives up a lot of catches.

      • Insomniac

Got picked on. The Engram catch was a bad match up and great catch tho.

        • kajomo

I’m not just talking this week. He had a pick against Dak, but other than that he hasn’t made many plays.

      • Dave

I’ve always been down on Mills, but you are absolutely correct on Darby. At least Darby has the speed to play press coverage if he wants to.

  • kajomo

Just pathetic. Some will say that this game has no bearing on how this season ends, but the way we play does. This defense has struggled. Good teams are going to consistently put 30+ on us if this is the way we play. Foles will struggle to match that

  • nicolajNN

The defence really need to step up, they’ve been bad for a few weeks

  • Dragon_Eagle

3 penalties helped them down the field. Settle down. We got this.

  • scratcherk

    folsey

  • sonofdman

It was the first drive of the game. I agree that if our defense does that every drive, it will be very bad. But, let’s see what happens.

  • scratcherk

    high throw

  • Donald Kalinowski

    Foles read that perfectly

  • scratcherk

warmack in tho they said isaac

  • sonofdman

I thought Collins was out this week.

    • scratcherk

      last minute add

  • scratcherk

    woot

  • Dragon_Eagle

Oh good. I was sure we’d get called for a hold.

  • Donald Kalinowski

wow lol. I thought that was going against the Eagles

  • Donald Kalinowski

What were the Giants pointing at?

  • A_T_G

JPP with illegal use of hands.

    *giggle*

    • sonofdman

      Hee hee

    • Dragon_Eagle

      hand.

    • scratcherk

should only count for 13 yards….

  • scratcherk

    nice ags

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Almost deja vu there, Ags.

  • sonofdman

    That was scary

  • Donald Kalinowski

Last year that would have been a pick.

  • sonofdman

    Looks like Ags is hurt

    • A_T_G

      Finger maybe.

  • scratcherk

    boom

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Carsonesque.

  • sonofdman

PI, but should have been caught.

    • Donald Kalinowski

      Ruined a great highlight

  • scratcherk

    ajayi plz

  • Donald Kalinowski

Can;t believe I’m concerned about Ags injury.

    • Insomniac

No one could have before the start of this season

    • xeynon

My guess is he got the wind knocked out of him.

  • Insomniac

And we’re back to having bad Torrey.

  • sonofdman

    Hell Yeah!

  • scratcherk

    boooommmmmmmm

  • kajomo

Foles looking good this first drive. Very encouraging.

    Torrey Smith is so bad

    • xeynon

Foles isn’t Carson, but he doesn’t suck.

      • kajomo

I always liked Nick. Felt he was a guys you could build around. This offense is good enough for him to be productive.

Defense is my main concern. They have been bad

  • scratcherk

    ags in

  • xeynon

That was a nice throw, Torrey’s got to make that catch.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    FOLEZZZZ!!!!!

    • Insomniac

      QB controversy!!!!!!

  • sonofdman

Looked clean to me on the replay.

  • shah8

Bad game day, today. Going with Vikings today, so keeping track of Eagles here…

Very disappointed by our QB’s injury on the Rams game while I was at work on Sunday.

  • DarthBanner

    Nice job Foles

  • Insomniac

    Guys..Foles didn’t get sacked.

  • SteveH

Agholor was back in, he’ll be fine.

  • truehaynes

can we please cut torrey already

  • Dragon_Eagle

Wow!! Sounds like we’re in Philly or LA again. Go EaglesNation!!

  • ChoTime

How’s my boy look? I’ll be able to watch after halftime

    • Insomniac

      Good.

    • Dragon_Eagle

Foles? Sarcasm font off. He looked great in all honesty. Can’t ask for much more than that.

    • xeynon

Sharp. 4-4 on the opening drive with a TD, plus a Carsonesque fake to dodge an unblocked pass rusher and bomb one to an open Torrey (who dropped it of course, but at least did draw a DPI).

    • A_T_G

Solid. No heroics, but also no need for them.

      • xeynon

‘Heroics’ is too strong, but that head fake to dodge JPP and give himself time to make the deep throw was the kind of play we were worried we’d lose without Carson.

  • scratcherk

    panthers up

  • T_S_O_P

Time to adjust to the dinking dunkers

    • A_T_G

      Pick 6

      • T_S_O_P

        If we must 🙂

  • A_T_G

Bramen in on the coverage team. No getting up to speed delay

  • T_S_O_P

Nice shot of JP on the sidelines

  • shah8

Cincinnati is so bad, man. And I already don’t want to watch the Giants. *Sigh* Terrible game day today. Best game is Carolina Green Bay, and that doesn’t feel like it will be that contested either.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    WTF?

  • scratcherk

    stop this ahole

  • scratcherk

    terriblre

  • DarthBanner

    What is the defense doing?

  • xeynon

Jesus Christ Schwartz. They have only one good receiver. How hard is it to make sure that one guy is covered?

  • T_S_O_P

    Bring back Rasul… Too soon?

  • Insomniac

Getting punched right in the gut because our safeties aren’t good in coverage.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      That was Mills

      • Insomniac

Yes that was Mills. Engram looking like Jimmy Graham out there.

        • Howie Littlefinger

Cover two against a TE that will split up the middle every time. Thats on coach as well

  • sonofdman

    Wow. That was terrible.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Mills gambled and lost.

  • T_S_O_P

    Bollocks

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Ffs

  • DarthBanner

Defense is really falling apart without Wentz. Oh, wait…..

  • Insomniac

Defense will adjust huh. They keep getting dismantled now.

    • kajomo

      3 straight weeks now

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Sean Lee we need u

  • xeynon

It will be ironic if Foles plays great but we fail to make a run because our defense collapses.

    • laeagle

Don’t know if that qualifies as irony, but it sure qualifies as shitty.

  • DarthBanner

I am worrying less and less about Shwartz getting a head coaching job.

  • kajomo

I hate the idea of giving up catches and letting them drive. Press and blitz and ask Eli to make throws with people in his face

  • Donald Kalinowski

Okay this defense is really concerning. They gave up 4 TDs against the Rams and 2 TDs in 1 quarter against NYG

    • kajomo

We gave up more points in 1qt than th cowboys did to them all game last week

  • GENETiC-FREAK

3 weeks now D has struggled. Told you Schwartz slow to adjust. But that TD was all on Mills.

    • Donald Kalinowski

      On McLeaod as well

      • kajomo

He along with Darby are the 2 guys I’ve soured on the last few weeks

      • Insomniac

I’ve given up any expectations of McLeod covering anyone. Dude has to go once he’s not expensive and have a replacement ready for.

  • Dave

As a reminder the last time the Eagles played the Giants:

“Philadelphia Eagles CB Jalen Mills was thrown at 21 times by the New York Giants on Sunday, the most any player has been targeted in a single week in the past ten years and seven more targets than any other corner in Week 3.
Mills allowed 15 catches (71.4 percent) for 119 yards and two scores, with one pass breakup.”

Lat time everyone said it was because he spent much of the day covering OBJ. What’s the excuse today?

  • Eagles4life

    Time to activate Sydney Jones!

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Barner sighting

    • Insomniac

Media Mike bursting a blood vessel somewhere.

    • Donald Kalinowski

      Thank God lol

  • xeynon

Minnesota is taking care of their business, we have to take care of ours.

  • SteveH

Nice to see Vaitai continuing his bottom tier left tackle play. Between him and Warmack this offense is going to be nearly nonfunctional for stretches.

    • kajomo

Good thing our defense can carry us…

  • xeynon

Big V got beat bad there.

  • A_T_G

That clip of the MIN pick, did Daulton really throw into 4 defenders?

    • shah8

      yes

      • shah8

Dalton also made a bad throw right before that that would have made for a long gain. Sort of a long, straight ahead screen, but pass thrown behind the guy.

        • shah8

          man, dalton is just unwatchable.

    • kajomo

      YEs, yes he did

  • Insomniac

Schwartz ain’t getting a head coaching job anywhere now so we don’t really have to worry about that.

  • ACViking

In the last 2 quarters of football against each other …

    Giants 37
    Eagles 20

  • truehaynes

    d needs to step up

  • xeynon

    Bad decision there Nick.

  • truehaynes

    bad route as well

  • T_S_O_P

    Shit punt

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Dear Coach Schwartz,

This shit is on you if we lose.

    Love,
    D_E

  • DarthBanner

These idiots are trying to get blown out by the giants.

  • A_T_G

Mills not having a good start…

    • Eagles4life

Mills hasn’t been playing well the last 2 games

    • Dragon_Eagle

And they are going at him every other play.

    • xeynon

He’s played well for much of the year but the Giants seem to own him.

    • Insomniac

I feel like the Giants are the only team that watches film of our D.

  • Donald Kalinowski

This same shit happened last year. Defense seemed unstoppable, people were talking about Schwartz as a HC, and then they get exposed.

    • kajomo

Maybe he just loves Philly and doesn’t want to leave

  • Checkdown Charlie

    WTF

  • Insomniac

That hustle from Jernigan god damn

  • scratcherk

    pathetic

  • xeynon

    Nice hustle by Jernigan there.

  • SeanofDead

    Refs no call the pick

  • Insomniac

    Oh ffs

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Have these guys given up or overmatched wtf

  • A_T_G

Um, McLeod, you are a safety.

    • Insomniac

      A mile marker.

  • Crus57

so McLeod is planning on playing again this year yes?

  • ChoTime

The team that doesn’t have any receivers and was so bad the coach got fired is kicking our ass? Damn…

    • xeynon

      Our defense looks atrocious.

  • A_T_G

That pick was blatant, but that cannot be the outcome.

    • xeynon

The blown call can be blamed for the first down.

The TD can’t be blamed on anything but atrocious defense.

  • T_S_O_P

This is on players. 27 is not having good games with missed tackles

  • bobeph

you folks really expect the eagles to win, the superbowl? this is the eagles, get real

  • xeynon

    Jesus Christ this is embarrassing.

  • Jim Schwartz isn’t going anywhere

    • xeynon

      Unless he gets fired.

    • Eagles4life

I am more worried going forward into the playoffs

  • kajomo

    No hustle at all. Pathetic

  • DarthBanner

Whelp. Certainly looking like a 1 and done playoff team. Not beating a good team with this defense.

  • Howie Littlefinger

This is pathetic. I’m ashamed of the defense

  • DarthBanner

They don’t even look like they care.

  • Eagles4life

The whole secondary is playing like crap and getting manhandled

    • kajomo

We can’t cover anyone right, so just Blitz. I hate this game plan. Not excusing the players, but why let Eli be comfortable back there

  • DarthBanner

The defense is playing like they don’t believe they can win without Wentz.

  • Insomniac

McLeod can only do two things. Get opportunistic picks (which makes the casual fans think he’s solid) and impersonate a mile marker. Draft a safety already, it’s clear that we need a center fielder and not two box safeties.

    • kajomo

I hate McLeod. Also when is the last time Jenkins has made a play? Like even a PBU

      • Insomniac

I’ve always thought our safeties were overrated.Jenkins is solid but he’s no longer a top 5 safety that people think he is. McLeod is vastly overrated, he got good will for starting off here well. Then he makes business decisions and has been a very below average safety.

        • xeynon

Calling him “very below average” is a bit much – there are a lot of terrible saferies in the league. Remember Nate Allen? I agree with you he’s overrated though.

          • Insomniac

What does he do well? Allen was better than McLeod before injury.

    • xeynon

He’s got to make that tackle.

  • truehaynes

at this point do we hope for no more wins so we dont get a bye and can be one and done for a better draft pick?

    • xeynon

      No.

      • truehaynes

why? the team has given up

        • xeynon

Once you make it to the dance you hope to be going home at the end of the night. Gotta hope they get their shit together.

    • kajomo

      That’s the emotional thought.

We really need HFA because we apparently don’t like playing defense on the road. That said I’m becoming less optimistic every time our defense takes the field

      • truehaynes

yeah i know im being emotional i just dont understand how were playing like such trash against a terrible offense.

        • kajomo

The defense has struggled for weeks. It was against better teams so most gave them a pass.

We will also miss Wentz’s 3rd down dominance which in turn puts more pressure on a struggling defense.

I think people really underestimate Carson’s ability to will his team to wins. He seems to respond when the team needs it the most to switch momemtum. The guy made everyone on this team better. Foles is solid, but Wentz is special. It will have an effect on the entire team.

      • DarthBanner

Ha. Like this team could beat another playoff team right now. They have given up.

  • A_T_G

I am going to tell myself we are playing vanilla and saving the good stuff for the playoffs and hum loudly with my fingers in my ears when people disagree.

    • Dragon_Eagle

Vanilla Ice also would have scored 3 TDs on us by now. No consolation.

    • shah8

with the number of shitty winning teams out there…

  • DarthBanner

What a fragile bunch of pussies.

  • truehaynes

    wtf is that ertz

  • truehaynes

atleast the giants are hurting their draft position

  • Corry

We needed the whole team go step up. That have done the opposite of that.

  • Checkdown Charlie

I guess they wont be doing any choreographed dances today.
Maybe, they should concentrate on football

  • truehaynes

if im doug im throwing shit at halfime

    • Eagles4life

      Why wait till half time?!

      • truehaynes

if they score here somebody needs to get fired

      • kajomo

Seriously. Wale them the F up now. Sit players if they don’t give max effort. Light a fire some how

  • DarthBanner

Way to keep it together Doug.

  • Insomniac

McLeod with a hug tackle. Soft as shit

    • scratcherk

      say what

      • Insomniac

4 hard hitting tackles a year and dozens more weak attempts + bad angles. Dude is grossly overrated.

        • scratcherk

it was just funny cuz i saw this comment after that hit

  • jshort

    better

  • kajomo

    OPI

  • Checkdown Charlie

McLeod, look at the scoreboard before you strut

  • A_T_G

You can’t grab the guy fair catching.

  • sonofdman

I know it wasn’t a hit, but the Giants guy had has hands on Barner when he made a fair catch. Is that allowed?

    • A_T_G

Apparently that 1-yard radius is subjective…

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Was wondering the same thing.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Not when its the Eagles. We always get screwed on those type plays. If that was our defender it would have been a penalty.

Just like that OPI would have been called on us, guaranteed

  • scratcherk

    darn

  • A_T_G

    C’mon Nick.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    That was a catch!!

  • scratcherk

    ugghhh donyt challenge

  • A_T_G

    I don’t think that is a catch.

  • scratcherk

    stiupid

  • anon

It’s amazing we went 10-6 with this guy.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Ah, never mind. No it wasn’t.

  • kajomo

We can’t even get challenges right

  • xeynon

Looks like a bad challenge to me.

    • anon

Nothing to lose at this point honesty

    • kajomo

It’s infuriating that he challenges something so blatantly oob, but didn’t challenge the Wilson forward pass

      • xeynon

Yeah. I can buy his explanation that they didn’t have a good angle on the Wilson lateral, but if your philosophy is not to challenge unless you have a good replay view you can’t challenge that play.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Whos the guy telling Pederson to challenge it? Fire that guy!

  • A_T_G

There are a lot of Eagles fans in the crowd.

  • DarthBanner

I guess Doug wants to get in on the fun of the epic collapse.

  • Eagles4life

    Why is Smith even playing?

    • A_T_G

      That wasn’t on Smith.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Zach needs google maps.

  • scratcherk

    run forward

  • Howie Littlefinger

U challenge that pass but not seattle lateral wtf

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Nice backward running Ertz

    • anon

      yeah seriously just go down

  • Insomniac

Pretty sure this challenge is just a mini break for Dougie. He needed time to mentally prepare to tear the entire team a new asshole in half time.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Just waiting. Ajayi looks like he’s going to bust one at any time.

  • truehaynes

    play more clement please

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Go for it.

  • truehaynes

if we punt weve officially given up

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Knew it

  • sonofdman

    Shit

  • scratcherk

    sounds right

  • Crus57

Need to spread ’em out for 4th down not bring everyone in tight

  • A_T_G

Giants playing better since they fired McAdoo.

  • truehaynes

    pathetic

  • Checkdown Charlie

How many days until Pitchers and Catchers? lol

  • Ankerstjernen

Can’t believe they would call a run on 4th and one behind Vaitai. That deserves to fail. Every time.

    • truehaynes

      long yard too

  • xeynon

This game is the Giants’ Super Bowl. They came ready to play. We did not.

    • anon

Will be clear soon how good a coach dough is

      • xeynon

Doug’s not been great so far but Schwartz has to get the majority of the blame.

    • kajomo

That unacceptable. We have every incentive to go take care of business. Foles’s first start. Bye week and HFA at stake

      • xeynon

        Agree 100%.

  • truehaynes

soooo. worst year of nfl football in how long?

  • Dragon_Eagle

You cannot wear a Raiders jersey to my family’s Christmas dinner.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Fuck that ,if they wearing their colors I’m getting mine too

      lol

  • DarthBanner

Season is so over. Playing their worst football of the season and clearly don’t believe in themselves. They’ll lose their first playoff game. Just a question of if they eek out a first round bye and it happens in divisional week or wildcard week.

  • bobeph

so the rally around foles…………..? typical eagles football

  • Dragon_Eagle

    About fucking time.

  • sonofdman

    There we go!!

  • A_T_G

    We needed that.

  • scratcherk

    FJUUUUUUCK EYESSS EYEYSYEY EYES

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YES

  • Ankerstjernen

It would appear that losing Wiz is the straw that broke the camels back. This O-line can no longer generate any push in the run game against a Giants D-line that has struggles to stop the run all year. Ugh.

  • Insomniac

We just need the defense to make one damn play and we might be back into the game.

    • xeynon

      You were saying?

      • Insomniac

I’m ahead of the streamers, staggering posts can be kind of hard

  • scratcherk

    LETS GOOOO

  • scratcherk

    come on doug, run it

    • truehaynes

      warmack sucks. put in beaty

      • Insomniac

Who do we put in if Beatty sucks

      • A_T_G

        Beatty is a tackle.

  • Dragon_Eagle

That incomplete is OK. Give Jeffery the 50-50s.

  • Insomniac

I think we all forgot that we’re playing Eli. Thank you Darbs

    • sonofdman

That’s because we were making him look like Tom Brady

  • scratcherk

    nice

  • Ankerstjernen

STOP RUNNING TO THE LEFT SIDE!!!!

  • scratcherk

    run it

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YEA

  • sonofdman

    FUck Yeah Ertz!!!!!!

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Fuck yeah, Nick!!!

  • scratcherk

    Fuck yeah, Eagles!

  • truehaynes

    thank you darby

    • truehaynes

      energized the team

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Back in it

  • teltschikfakeout88

Boom TD… let’s see if the D is starting to settle in now and get the ball back one more time before half..

  • A_T_G

They can’t run the ball and Eli can’t do this all day. I still feel like we will get rolling.

  • Insomniac

Warmack played patty cake with the DT on that TD throw.

  • xeynon

The dropoff from Wentz to Foles is clear. Nicky Six is not an MVP-caliber QB.

However, he is good enough to win with. QB is not even in the top 5 as far as positions that are hurting us in this game.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Now, defense, slam the door, give it back to St. Nick so we can get the lead going into halftime. Then go repent your coverage sins and return prepared to atone.

  • SeanofDead
  • scratcherk

    BGGGGG

  • ChoTime

    here!

  • truehaynes

i seflishly want ten tds for aghs jeffrey and ertz

    • truehaynes

one more for jeffrey. two more for ertz and three for aghs

  • scratcherk

    LETS ROOLLLLL.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Agholor reminds me of Cobb on Greenbay…

    thoughts?

  • scratcherk

    lets get a stoooop

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YEA D

  • scratcherk

    BLOCKKKK

  • scratcherk

    FUCUUUUCKKCKCKCK YEYSYSYYSYEYEYEYSYSY

  • Dragon_Eagle

    FUCK YEAH FIPP!!!!

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Needed that

  • teltschikfakeout88

Forced a 3 and out…getting the ball back with 3 and half to go..

  • ChoTime

    !!

  • truehaynes

    here we go

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Daaayum!!! Thats what im talking bout

  • A_T_G

Hollies saw that was getting blocked and changed his path to run to space behind the punter instead of into the fray. That seemed very savvy for a rookie.

    • A_T_G

      *Hollins

    • xeynon

Unlike a lot of rookies he played a lot of special teams in college. It shows.

  • sonofdman

    Hellllll yeahhhh!

  • scratcherk

    FUUUUCK YESSSSS

  • scratcherk

dunno how we didnt get delay of game

  • shah8

Looks like no yelling by Peterson will be needed at the half.

    • truehaynes

      im happily eating crow

      • Dragon_Eagle

Its actually quite good, once you get used to it.

        • Insomniac

It still tastes bad, especially when fresh and raw.

    • Insomniac

From flipping his shit to a stern dad lecture

  • SeanofDead

I really hope we find a way to resign Burton

    • xeynon

Me too, but I think he’s as good as gone. Somebody’s going to give him good money to be a starter, and rightfully so.

    • truehaynes

you could have caught that but i agree

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Boom another TD

  • Insomniac

    Lmao that campfire celebration

  • truehaynes

that was totally delay of game

    • Crus57

delay of game happens at about -2 on the play clock these days

  • ChoTime

sweet! at first I thought he dropped it, but it was part of the celebration

  • scratcherk

i have a sleeping baby on me. I have to get all my excitement out via message board here…

    • Insomniac

I had a box of wings on me, I too was struggling.

      • scratcherk

your package is slightly more delicious.

        • A_T_G

          Actually…

        • Insomniac

Only one way to really find out

    • A_T_G

My older son was born Sept. of 2004. I spent much of that season the same way.

  • teltschikfakeout88

Need the D to get off the field

  • GENETiC-FREAK

3 TD Foles. Lets go for 8 Nick!

  • A_T_G

We have time for another TD or two.

  • SeanofDead

St Nick needs just 4 more Td’s to tie his NFL single game record

    • Insomniac

      5* break the record*

    • xeynon

Give him a few more weeks to warm up. He can break the record in the Super Bowl. 🙂

  • SteveH

Classic Nick Foles stat line. 85 yards but 3 touchdowns lol.

This fucking team came out so flat but I knew we’d come back. We’re just way way way more talented than the Giants.

  • Corry

I’m glad the defense showed up. I don’t know who those guys were that were wearing their uniforms, but man did they suck.

    • Insomniac

It was a new breakthrough for CGI technology, those holograms have AI now.

      • Corry

They certainly tackled like holograms. Yuck.

  • A_T_G

The fake outrage by the announcer on a ball 1/4 off the ground.

  • SteveH

lol, how was that an incomplete pass? What is this clown car officiating?

  • kajomo

Its amazing how perspective can change.

If our defense plays lights out the rest of the game I’m willing to chalk the slow start up to it being the 3rd consecutive road game and then overlooking an inferior opponent.

If they continue to struggle at all this game than we have 3 consecutive bad defensive performances and it becomes a trend.

1 half of football will set the narrative moving forward.

I’m very happy with Foles. It’s about as good of a performance as we could have hoped for

    • xeynon

I think we’re seeing that the reality is our defense is opportunistic and makes big plays but not dominant a la those Bucs or Ravens defenses that carried them to titles.

      • kajomo

If that is the case than the Dilfer/Brad Johnson comparisons go out the window for Foles.

  • T_S_O_P

    Wow

  • A_T_G

If the Giants get it together, Ingram, Sheppard, and Beckham might be a problem.

    • A_T_G

      (In future years)

    • SteveH

I’m not worried with Geno Smith or whoever throwing the ball.

      • A_T_G

        Baker Mayfield?

    • xeynon

They need a new franchise QB which is the hardest piece to obtain.

    • kajomo

Crazy prediction… Defillipo goes to the giants, trades for Foles and JP, drafts Saquon Barkley.

      • Insomniac

        The darkest timeline

  • truehaynes

i thought O J howard was from bama and engram was ol miss

    • GENETiC-FREAK

      Yip you right

  • scratcherk

wtf lets not get sloppuy now

  • teltschikfakeout88

Need to get this stop and get that ball back

  • sonofdman

    What bullshit

    • A_T_G

      Yup

  • scratcherk

    fucking bs

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Wtf on Bradham??

  • teltschikfakeout88

Hell they got a big run play

  • sonofdman

Vareen is an ass. He is trying to start something again.

  • scratcherk

    fuck almost.

    • sonofdman

That would have been a sweet int

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Damn

  • truehaynes

    bullshit

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    So close McLeod

    • ChoTime

      almost a gorgeous play

  • sonofdman

We have been so bad on 3rd down.

  • shah8

man, halftime show for my game shows mostly horrible QB’s succeeding with easy plays. Aaron Rodgers excepted. Green Bay is going to be very dangerous.

    • xeynon

If they make it. They have to win out against a tough schedule, and get help to boot I believe.

  • sonofdman

When the Qb is out of the pocket, you are allowed to knock the receiver down, correct?

  • scratcherk

nice play by bradham to work over pick play

  • A_T_G

Pick 6 would be nice here…

  • teltschikfakeout88

Annoyed with this bullshit no huddle that Eli is running to perfection

  • scratcherk

    great stop

  • Ankerstjernen

is it me, or are these commentators completely clueless about what is happening on the field?

    • Crus57

I’ve had them muted since about 10 minutes into the game, they are the 2-11 team of commentators.

      • ChoTime

        well, a 2-11 team is beating us…

    • A_T_G

Yeah, but they are at least talking about the game. That is an improvement over Aikman/Buck.

  • teltschikfakeout88

Terrible finish to half.. hate giving up the 3 points

  • Insomniac

Engram is going to be a major pain in the ass for us in the future.

  • ChoTime

eli’s smiling. the NY version of media mike is throwing thins at the tv

  • xeynon

Don’t love the defense deflating and letting them drive the field at the end of the half.

At least they held them to 3.

    • DarthBanner

Other than a 5 minute segment, the defense was absolutely terrible. Not winning any playoff games if the defense plays anything like that.

  • xeynon

God Barner is sure-handed but that is the only good thing you can say about him as a returner. No explosiveness and very questionable judgment.

    • Crus57

I’d say inconsistent rather than questionable, he most often makes good decisions on catch vs fair catch vs leave it, but yeah he’s no sproles with the ball in his hands.

  • Someguy77

Schwartz better come off with a better game plan because he got out coached again

    • Ankerstjernen

it does feel this way, doesn’t it?

  • ChoTime

Wentz required 13 games to throw 33 TDs, Nick only needed a half to throw 3. do the math.

    • jshort

Wonder if the other guy typing needs a calculator?

      • ChoTime

        lol cruel

      • Masked Man

        78 lol

        • jshort

          +3 today

          • Masked Man

Oooops, see? That’s why I hate math.

          • Masked Man

            No. I’m good. It’s 6×13=78!

    • xeynon

Assuming 3 regular season games and 3 playoff games, he’s on pace to surpass Wentz’s season total early in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl.

      • A_T_G

        I’d be okay with that.

  • anon

Nick Foles is great, easy to see how we went 10-6 with him

  • xeynon

I know everybody thinks the AFC is a two horse race but I wouldn’t sleep on Jacksonville. That team has the tools for a Ravens-Dilfer type run and their defense is the kind that gives Brady problems – great front four pass rush and great man coverage corners.

    • shah8

      I don’t want to see a Bortles-Keenum/Foles Superbowl.

      • Dragon_Eagle

I would love to see a Bortles-Foles Super Bowl.

        • shah8

As fans, perhaps. We’d probably win.

          I think.

But as an aesthetic? Man, no way.

          • Dragon_Eagle

It would be a freakin’ Picasso.

          • shah8

            Fake Picasso

          • xeynon

I don’t care about aesthetics if the Eagles have a chance to bring home a championship.

Besides, great defensive football can be fun to watch too.

          • shah8

They’re fun to watch against actual competent offenses. Watching a good d against Andy Dalton is excruciating.

        • A_T_G

Nice follow up to the Foles/Keenum championship game.

      • DarthBanner

I want to see an anyone/Foles super bowl.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Like I said. Its Eagles Giants. Bad for the heart. Switching to Victory Hop Devil to, ahem, calm the nerves.

  • xeynon

God even when Smith makes the catch he does something dumb. They need to replace him this offseason.

  • Insomniac

    Foles + Alshon > Wentz + Alshon??

    • A_T_G

      Let’s not do this.

    • sonofdman

Whatever you are smoking, can I have some?

      • Insomniac

No, it’s rather expensive and tasteless.

  • ChoTime

    nick is good

  • scratcherk

    fuck yea

  • SeanofDead

That play was a fav in Chip’s book if I remember

    • kajomo

Except to that bum Jordan matthews. I couldn’t stand that guy

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Two hands on the ball

  • A_T_G

Alshon carrying that ball like he is Shady.

  • Dragon_Eagle

What is up with running backwards today, dummies? Ertz, Smith, and now Burton.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Lol. Lane Johnson.

  • xeynon

Nice blocks from Kelce and Vaitai on that screen.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Poor throw

    • Insomniac

Foles was too trigger happy on that throw.

    • xeynon

Think it was a miscommunication between Foles and Alshon.

  • A_T_G

Even without Wentz, red zone field goals feel like a loss.

  • xeynon

Jeffery needs to fight to get to that ball.

    • Corry

I agree with the the announcers (a first), the ball should have been to the front pylon.

      • xeynon

Should’ve, yes. But if he runs through the defender he likely draws a DPI call nevertheless.

        • Corry

Possibly, but I don’t know that I this ref crew makes the call.

  • Corry

I’d like to see Ajayi and Clement get some more touches.

    • ChoTime

I don’t really understand the RB rotation.

      • Insomniac

        Blame Duce

      • xeynon

The thing that kills me is when they have Blount in on 3rd and long. He’s fine in certain situations but he can’t block and isn’t a receiving threat, so what good is he in that case?

        • ChoTime

those guys don’t even get a chance to warm up

  • Eagles4life

Russell Wilson seems to have sucked the confidence and swag out of our D!

    • wallacemnw

      I agree

  • wallacemnw

    Need this stop!

  • ChoTime

come on d, show me something

  • scratcherk

    nice stop

  • A_T_G

The Eli shoulder slump is setting in. Love it.

    • jshort

      noticed that.

  • Dragon_Eagle

That’s more like it. The 2-11 team is doing 2-11 things. Thank you, Eli!

  • scratcherk

    good field position. MOAR RUNNING

  • jshort

love the up tempo, quick 3 and out.

  • truthchief

Get something going and head into the End Zone!

  • A_T_G

So even though he hasn’t done anything, the special teams look better with Bramen back.

    • jshort

      Was looking for him.

  • ChoTime

are the sauvage ads supposed to be funny?

    • nathaniel driver

I ask myself the same thing when they play the “Dilly Dilly” commercials.

    • xeynon

The ads I’m really sick of are the Norm MacDonald-as-Colonel-Sanders ones.

  • A_T_G

Run for 8 on first, deep TD to Hollins on second.

    • A_T_G

By the way, what buttons do you guys push to make your predictions come true?

  • Dragon_Eagle

What is our run-pass ratio? Feels unbalanced again, like against LA.

    • Insomniac

      16 runs to 25 passes

so roughly a little more than 1/3

      • A_T_G

        2 to 3?

  • scratcherk

seemed like an ok throw. hollins lost it in the light?

  • scratcherk

    FINALLYT

    • ChoTime

dude is a human highlight reel

  • wallacemnw

    Run the ball

  • Corry

This is starting to look like an Andy Reid offense. PA passes without established run game that fools no one.

And as I type that, Ajayi rumbles for 10+

  • scratcherk

kelce fucking killing it this year

  • Dragon_Eagle

That was a pretty screen play.

  • scratcherk

    td for ajayi plz

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Kelce the man

  • wallacemnw

Is it possible Warmack is playing well?

    • Corry

      Haven’t noticed him, so possibly.

    • Insomniac

      Yes…

    • xeynon

He hasn’t been a total liability but he did miss his blocks on both the Ajayi sweep and the screen pass.

  • scratcherk

theyve been very generous of the play clock this game

  • Insomniac

Had to cut that back inside J train

  • ChoTime

carson would have bounced that screen pass off ajayi’s helmet 🙂

    • xeynon

You troll, but it’s true that those short touch passes are the one thing which Nick might be better at than Carson is.

  • xeynon

LOL at Warmack. Two plays in a row he moves well to get out in space and then whiffs on blocks.

  • Corry

The crowd sounds like a home game.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Let’s go. Ajayi has earned the right. Give him the ball.

  • sonofdman

Just went back and looked, the defender took off between 1 and o to try to time the play clock. It should have been a penalty on the Giants

  • sonofdman

    Hell Yeah!!

  • scratcherk

    FUCKING AGS

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Agssss

  • A_T_G

Ags does not catch that last year. #swagger.

    • ChoTime

      Little man’s playing big.

    • xeynon

Yup. He’s always had big time talent. It’s just confidence he needed.

  • wallacemnw

    Ags is a new man!

  • Dragon_Eagle

    FUCK YEAH AGHOLOR!!

  • Corry

    4 touchdowns, 4 different receivers

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Wow! Way to step up team lets goooo

  • ChoTime

Still on pace for 6 TDs/game.

  • Masked Man

Agholor looked like Alshon on that play!

    A 50/50 catch!

  • Dragon_Eagle

So, does this mean Howie can flip Foles for another 1st rounder?

    • xeynon

Multiple first rounders. You’re talking about the second best QB in football right there. 😉

      • A_T_G

        And SB MVP.

  • truehaynes

    aghs 8, ertz 8, alshon 9. i want 10 10 10

  • Insomniac

    Ags has more TDs than

    Dez
    Amari Cooper
    Mike Evans
    Fitzgerald
    Julio
    Keenan Allen

    • Someguy77

Certainly merit ‘comeback player of the year’ award even if he didn’t have a significant injury.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Phew!

  • wallacemnw

    Lucky

  • scratcherk

    hopefully just a cramp there.

  • A_T_G

Robinson cramping up after burning through all his electrolytes in his sideline tantrum.

  • wallacemnw

    That’s a killer

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Oh Fuck

  • scratcherk

    slopy

  • A_T_G

That ALMOST negates the blocked punt.

  • xeynon

    That is an atrocious penalty.

  • ChoTime

    ffs

  • Someguy77

I want to see Foles put up 6 TDs today.

    • ChoTime

      he might need to

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Bradham pushed his own player lol

  • wallacemnw

    Awful

  • scratcherk

    sloppy sloppy

  • ChoTime

this running thig isn’t going to work

  • Someguy77

Ridiculous. This secondary has been awful today.

    • xeynon

“Awful” is generous. We have to remember that except for Shepard and Engram this is a bunch of replacement level scrubs they’re getting torched by.

  • A_T_G

    Hey McLeod, make the stop.

    • John Luck Pickerd

Seriously he took a terrible angle and then made a mediocre tackle attempt when he finally got to King.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

That offside on the punt fk!

  • sonofdman

Any chance that ball was coming loose before it crossed the line? It is really close

    • sonofdman

Or do only the Patriots get that kind of BS call?

  • xeynon

    Jesus Christ, this defense.

  • jshort

knew that was going to happen. penalty!

  • Someguy77

Lots of going at Mills and Robinson did just as the Rams and to a lesser degree the Seahawks did 2 weeks ago.

    • ChoTime

question is, why wouldn’t every team do that every game?

      • Insomniac

        ssssssssssh

      • Someguy77

We have discussed MIlls a lot on here and I still think he is inadequate as a starting outside CB.

Just doesn’t have the speed/agility and you can’t teach that/adjust for that except to give him help.

Just help McLeod has been lite up today a few times as well.

  • truehaynes

    king looks old as fuck

    • Insomniac

      His head is so shiny.

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Haha was thinking that too. Late 40s or something

      • truehaynes

        27.

        • truehaynes

          somehow

  • CTbirdsguy

Ronald Darby…..needs to not get beaten so badly so often

    • kajomo

      But he’s fast….

    • truehaynes

slants are tough. one slip and its over

    • truehaynes

biggest takeaway for me is mcleods lack of open field speed

    • Someguy77

Teams have been challenging too and he hasn’t answered the bell either.

  • Ankerstjernen

So we are getting beat by the only deep pass that the giants can execute for three TDs now?

    • ChoTime

      it was a slant?

      • Ankerstjernen

They were all slants. A couple of them double moves on slants.

  • scratcherk

    well thats something.

  • DarthBanner

    Idiots

  • scratcherk

Sloppy fucking mess by the D.

  • Corry

    This is just annoying.

  • Ankerstjernen

That TD gave me flashbacks to getting beat repeatedly by Brice freakin Butler. Apparently this is just something we have to learn to live with.

  • Someguy77

Love to see what Schwartz has to say in his press conference this week.

No Gurley or any kind of run game to worry about. Eli is in shogun and just throwing bombs and connecting on them to 2nd/3rd string WRs.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Schwartz needs to mix in some zone. Eagles DBs too slow n McLeod playing single high does nothing in the backend to help in time.

  • truehaynes

offsides on 4th down was awful

  • John Luck Pickerd

Anyone else think McLeod has looked like crap today? That last play was turrible.

  • Someguy77

This is a slow secondary including Jenkins when he is on a WR. When this pass rush doesn’t dominate with their front 4, they get lite up.

It happened last year with horrendous numbers allowed in the passing game especially in the 2nd half of the year.

People feared it going into the year even after the Darby trade and understandably slow.

    • Ankerstjernen

There is nothing slow about Darby, he is just coached up poorly on these slants.

  • xeynon

Lukewarm take: Wentz’s injury doesn’t even matter. We’re not winning a Super Bowl with a defense that gives up 500 yards and 30 points to one of the worst offenses in the league.

    • sonofdman

On the bright side – We won’t be seeing the Giants in the playoffs.

      • Insomniac

Yea but the Rams on the other hand..

    • Someguy77

With nobody really to throw to either behind an OL that has been a sieve much of the year.

Yeah they are attacking the Eagles with a lot of quicker reads today but where is the expected pressure especially on the interior from Cox/Jernigan?

      • xeynon

The thing is the quick throws are something a good defense should be able to adjust to take away, or at least limit.

      • Someguy77

Curry/Barnett aren’t doing much at the other DE spot either.

Wonder if Barnett has hit the ‘rookie wall’ and Curry looks a lot like the guy last season who isn’t able to generate any kind of consistent pressure on 1-on-1 matchups the last few weeks.

Graham has been their best DL today.

    • wallacemnw

We are not winning a playoff game if the D doesnt get it together

  • ChoTime

The D looks pretty happy given how they’ve played

    • xeynon

Yeah, they’re playing like hot garbage and are on the verge of costing a chance to clinch a bye. They have nothing to celebrate.

  • shah8

yaaaaaay Teddy is in to clean up the game!

    • shah8

and promptly has a tipped ball interception! boooo!!

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Dammit

  • scratcherk

    fuck

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Man he second guessed it

  • Insomniac

    Scary throw.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Donnie what were you doing

  • DarthBanner

    Ok defense, stop fucking up.

  • scratcherk

Nigel has been our most consistent defender all year

    • Insomniac

      He’s a beast.

  • Tdoteaglefan

Well tavares king is being evaluated for a concussion maybe that finally slows down the giants offense smh

  • Masked Man

    Interesting.
Offense didn’t miss a beat today.
But Defense and Special Teams gave up big plays…..

    • ChoTime

      is the game over?

    • Someguy77

Fail down in special teams has been a big issue.

This team the past few years always could count on special teams helping them to generally win games and it has been an increasing issue especially on coverage.

  • Someguy77

Eli put up his best numbers of the year (366 yards, 3 TDs) vs Eagles in Week 3.

He matched his season-high (3 TDs) and already had 331 yards at the end of Q3. Doesn’t have another 300-yard game except vs Eagles.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Uh oh.

  • A_T_G

Robinson looked to be out cold.

  • sonofdman

It seems like if we don’t get a three and out, then the defense totally disappears.

  • Insomniac

Oh god we can’t stop anyone on their shit offense

  • Someguy77

Giants have 55 yards on 17 carries and yet now have more TOP than the Eagles.

  • wallacemnw

    This is embarassing

  • CTbirdsguy

I wonder how “encouraged” Fran Duffy will be this week after studying the D film, or how it was “not as bad as it looked”….im getting tired of hearing it

    • xeynon

He may have been correct that the big plays last week resulted from correctable mistakes rather than getting physically dominated, but if you don’t correct the mistakes it doesn’t matter.

  • Insomniac

PRob barely moving that’s really bad

  • ChoTime

This is kind of why I said these last three games will tell us a lot.

    • xeynon

So far they’ve told us Foles is good enough to win with but our defense is not nearly as good as they fancy themselves.

  • ACViking

This is like watching the Eagles’ defense down in the part of 2015.

    • Someguy77

Schwartz can’t be as inept at making in-game adjustments as Billy Davis was.

  • Someguy77

This game is on the DL. They are getting paid big bucks and getting shown up by one of the worst 3-4 OLs in the game right now.

  • Masked Man

It’s up to Dougie and Nicky and the offense to win this game!

  • kajomo

I am starting to hate Jim scwartz. Playing coverage isn’t working. We aren’t covering anyone anyway. Just Blitz. Make Eli uncomfortable ffs

    • anon

Not happy Giants have scored 30pts either, but Schwartz knows what he’s doing.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Ok seeing our DBs struggle in man against quicker recievers do Eagles activate Jones if he practices well?

  • Ankerstjernen

Our defense has played extremely disappointing in this game. They bite on every double move and every screen, the Giants O-line without Flowers looks like a solid unit on most snaps and my god the slants are basically being handed out. This game is making us forget that this Giants team is AVERAGING 14 points per game so far this year which makes them one of the worst offenses in the league. Yet here they are, putting drives together of +80 yards like its routine from the first snap and nobody appear to be adjusting anything. What is this?

    • Someguy77

      Jordan Raanan
      ESPN Staff Writer
The Giants had 4 pass plays of 40+ yards this season entering Sunday. They have two of over 50 yards for TDs after Tavarres King’s score late in the third quarter.

    • Someguy77

      Jordan Raanan
      ESPN Staff Writer
The Giants fast-paced offense provided the spark they desired. They had 299 yards in the first half, more than they had in seven full games this year.

      • Ankerstjernen

Exactly. It looks like an evenly matched game, except this is supposed to be a very talented defense against an offense that has been unable to do anything at all this year against anybody. Doesnt look like that right now though.

        • anon

Defense got 2 key picks that gave foles the ball in the redzone. ST has gotten 2 big blocks.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Wrap-up Bradham!

  • A_T_G

    Graham!

  • Insomniac

Bradham better make it to the Pro Bowl this year.

    • Someguy77

Eagles aren’t going to be able to keep him either with the contracts they gave to Jeffrey and Jernigan.

Ok with that but replacing him is going to be tough.

  • scratcherk

    GREAT STOP

  • A_T_G

    Another block?!

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Sweet!

    Thank you, Mr. Fipp.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Way to go ST’s

  • ChoTime

the ST unit came to mfin play

  • Ankerstjernen

Fipp has been back in the lab after last week and made new potions.

    • FairOaks

Didn’t work on Goode’s penalty on the punt, but several impact plays other than that

      • Ankerstjernen

Goode fell into the pot, drank too much.

  • anon

I guess getting Braman back was the key to ST

  • Dude

    Dave Fipp for president.

  • DarthBanner

Good time for a TD drive.

    • Someguy77

      Even 3 would be huge.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Let’s go, Nick. Long slow drive ending in 7 points.

  • Someguy77

All of the talk will be about the defense regardless of the outcome of this game but they just need to win.

Yeah it is ugly but Giants clearly wanted to play well vs divisional rival with Eli starting.

  • T_S_O_P

When was the last time if ever, we got the trifecta of kick blocks in one game?

  • xeynon

ST is keeping us in the game.

  • sonofdman

    That was a bad drop

  • A_T_G

Last year, Ags drops that one…

  • ChoTime

    oooooooh ags

  • teltschikfakeout88

Come on offense make some plays in the 4th Q

  • Checkdown Charlie

Cant run now when we need it

  • Dragon_Eagle

    ERTZ!!!

  • scratcherk

    YAC ERTZ

  • sonofdman

    Kempski eat your heart out!

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Thank you Ertz

  • ChoTime

    YAAAAAC

  • Insomniac

    It’s a miracle. Ertz broke a tackle.

  • Ankerstjernen

What is the average gain for us on the stretch run? Just wondering. Feels like its half a yard.

    • ChoTime

      they’ve been pretty nasty

    • CTbirdsguy

      and again

    • Ankerstjernen

And there we go again, loss of two. Its really hard to understand why they keep going back to it. Its just not there!

  • SeanofDead

Blount “Oiiiiiii…Right in me crown jewelzzzz!!!!”

  • GENETiC-FREAK

JPP club hand hit Ajayi in the nuts. Penalty lol

  • Someguy77

Is Ajayi hurt? ESPN Gamecast said he left last carry injured.

    • scratcherk

      didnt look serious

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Punched in the nuts by JPP

    • A_T_G

Jogged off. Looked like groin shot.

  • scratcherk

    BOOM

  • ChoTime

not a big fan of putting foles at risk like that

  • wallacemnw

    Nice throw

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Run ball. Eat clock.

  • Someguy77

Agholor has become their go-to guy today in some big spots.

Getting Ertz back means he is seeing almost all 1-on-1 coverage too

  • ChoTime

ags; you can’t stop him, you can only hope he drops it

  • scratcherk

    alert TO by dougie

  • A_T_G

TD here and I can use the bottom 2/3 of my lungs for the first time this half.

  • wallacemnw

Whats the deal w the clock today?

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Robison ruled out

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Concussion evaluation?

      • GENETiC-FREAK

        Yip head. Not returning.

  • scratcherk

would love to see some runs up the gut

    • Ankerstjernen

Well in this game you are only allowed to run the stretch zone. And it doesnt matter how poorly it works. These are the rules. Pederson and Spaugnolo made a gentleman-agreement and shook hands before the game.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    SMH

  • CTbirdsguy

    ertz and Jeffrey!!

  • Dragon_Eagle

Hate this, but gotta take the 3 here.

  • scratcherk

Good God, Do not go for it.

  • SeanofDead

Anyone but Smith would have caught and fought their way in

    • Ankerstjernen

      We know Hollings would, right?

  • Someguy77

Drive what exactly what they needed. Gave the defense a much needed breather and made the Giants have to score a TD (they aren’t doing it).

    • ChoTime

      you didn’t

  • Insomniac

    O shit

  • A_T_G

So much for that deep breath.

    • sonofdman

      Yep

    • Corry

A touchdown would have done wonders for my blood pressure.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Need a stop here!

  • ChoTime

Foles did good, but the offense was just a bit too sloppy.

    • GENETiC-FREAK

No help from the run that series

    • xeynon

If they go on to lose the game Foles will not be the reason.

  • Checkdown Charlie

Time for the D to show up

  • SeanofDead

Here is where we see Eli prone to mistakes

  • DarthBanner

Ok defense. Just keep them out of the end zone.

  • Someguy77

Extremely confident. Eagles have made adjustments this half and the defense has been better except that busted up slant TD play.

Giants might move down the field but they aren’t getting in the end zone.

    • xeynon

You’re confident they won’t have another busted coverage? I’m not.

    • ChoTime

Besides that, Mrs. Kennedy, how was the parade?

    • Dragon_Eagle

That makes one of us. I’m getting another beer.

  • A_T_G

This might be our last chance to see game-ending Manning face. Savor it, guys.

  • scratcherk

    come on secondary.

  • CTbirdsguy

    Ronald fucking Darby

    • CTbirdsguy

      double move again

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Pick?

  • scratcherk

    BRADHAM

  • wallacemnw

    AAAAAAAHHHHHH

  • sonofdman

    That was a pick 6

  • ChoTime

    shaky start

  • Someguy77

Bradham needs to put some damn stick’em on his gloves.

  • scratcherk

    OPI

  • SeanofDead

    False start no call

  • ChoTime

    bradham need stickhum

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Hicks picks 6 that! Bradhan stone hands ffs

  • Insomniac

Bradham should have like 4 picks this year

  • CTbirdsguy

    Ronald FUCKING Darby

    • CTbirdsguy

“standout corner” yeah for the wrong reasons

  • SeanofDead

    Straight pickin on Darby

  • Checkdown Charlie

    They deserve to lose

  • ChoTime

    didn’t the l ot jump?

  • scratcherk

    dont be stupid now.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Ok fk it activate Jones!

  • Someguy77

Waiting for the Eli face. I know it is coming.

  • xeynon

    Our defense sucks.

  • scratcherk

    make a fucking tackle

  • wallacemnw

    This is bad news folks

  • Insomniac

    O ffs

  • scratcherk

    darby geting picked on

  • scratcherk

    STOP STOP STOP

  • DarthBanner

The only positive is that the defense is so bad that the offense will have time.

  • Someguy77

This passive defense by Schwartz is getting them picked apart.

  • ChoTime

    no respct for the dbs

  • scratcherk

how fucking stupid is this defense

  • xeynon

They have been killing us with screens and clearouts all game. How does the defense not adjust to that?

    • Someguy77

Up voted this 10 times if I could.

    • sonofdman

They also have been killing us with slant and goes

    • ChoTime

Just attacking our CBs. How can you hide a whole position group?

      • xeynon

I’d buy that if it was OBJ out there. But this is Roger Lewis and Tavarres King torching us. These guys are literal replacement level players, starting CBs should not struggle against them like this.

  • Corry

They’re going to score on a slant play and I’m going to lose my goddamn mind.

    • Insomniac

Wait, you haven’t lost it yet?

  • SeanofDead

    Shwartz….have a dlineman drop back into coverage….plz

  • teltschikfakeout88

Why can we not stop this dink and dunk crap

  • wallacemnw

I live in NYC. The Giants are universally regarded as having the worst O Line in the league. This is insane.

  • SteveH

I hope Jim Schwartz sees slant patterns in his dreams this week.

I’d also like to point out to Torrey Smith, when you’re 3rd and goal and you catch the ball at the 2, the idea isn’t to stop and get tackled, it’s to keep running forward into in the endzone.

  • DarthBanner

Screw you schwartz. I can see why nobody wants you as a head coach.

  • shah8

Man, I thought the game was over after the TD. BAck from my twitter and I look at the score and go….WTF?!??

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Come on D…someone make a play…

  • Ankerstjernen

So we are making their receivers look uncoverable and their O-line look like a bunch of studs. Also, we are making them look like geniuses for beating us with the same damn play all game long.

  • scratcherk

WHAT THE FUCK DEFENSE IS THIS>

  • Someguy77

Dink and dunk shit works until you get down into the red zone

  • Dragon_Eagle

Finally sending a blitz. Keep it up.

    • Someguy77

Needs to bring 1 extra guy from outside or up the middle in a gap blitz.

  • bobeph

    eagles ;lose yet?

  • scratcherk

    dammit darby

  • ChoTime

kind of feels we need a pop up interception to get out of this one alive!

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Cmon boys!!!

  • xeynon

Gotta call timeouts here. It’s four down territory and we need some time on the clock if they score.

  • scratcherk

of course its a timeout by philly, you idiot

  • Dragon_Eagle

Nothing surprising about us taking a timeout. Should they score, we need the ball with time.

    • sonofdman

      Announcers so dumb

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Need stop lets goooo!

  • jshort

    ball game!

  • Dragon_Eagle

    BLITZ!!

  • Insomniac

Darby would be a better CB if he were like 3 inches taller

    • Someguy77

“I wish I was a little bit taller
      I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her
      I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
      And a six four Impala”

  • scratcherk

    YES FS

  • scratcherk

    good job you idiot

  • scratcherk

    thats on the eagles fans

  • xeynon

Why is it surprising the Eagles would take a timeout there? Commentators are so dumb sometimes.

  • scratcherk

    blitz.

  • A_T_G

Traveling fans got us that one.

  • scratcherk

    YERS YES YES

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Home filed fellas!!!

  • teltschikfakeout88

We got the ball or what

    • wallacemnw

      Yes

    • Insomniac

      YUp. game blouses

  • wallacemnw

I feel slightly less depressed lol

  • SeanofDead

    WOOOOOPPPPP WOOOOOPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • scratcherk

    unsports on who?

    • wallacemnw

      Gmen

  • Someguy77

There is the Eli face I knew was coming! Never a doubt 😉

  • ChoTime

no way was that a penalty

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Eli face

  • Dragon_Eagle

TWO HANDS ON THE BALL AT ALL TIMES!!!!

  • jshort

    ugly but nice.

  • xeynon

What is Engram complaining about? That was not DPI.

  • scratcherk

great game guys, need to shore up that fucking D.

  • Someguy77

Eli – a decent QB who had 2 perfect Super Bowl runs. Never won another playoff game outside of those 2 years.

Any New Yorker who tells you he is a HOF QB is delusional.

  • A_T_G

Blount makes a 5-yard run take 8 seconds.

    • scratcherk

      in normal circumstances

  • Someguy77

The Eagles back to circa 2014 where they need to score 30+ points to win because the defense is such a sieve?

  • A_T_G

A Foles bootleg on 4th might take :24.

  • scratcherk

max protect on this punt please.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Its not over yet, kid.

    • scratcherk

      its over.

  • Insomniac

Winners – Foles and the special teams.
Losers – the entire defense except Bradham. Ok maybe his hands are losers as well.
The least unexpected hero – Warmack

  • wallacemnw

    Dear God

  • A_T_G

    My poor heart.

    • Dragon_Eagle

You can have mine. Stopped working about 2 hours ago.

  • Someguy77

Always love Giants’ fans leaving en masse disappointed after a close yet frustrating loss vs Eagles.

Maybe the fans are a bit more restrained at the new stadium but the Giants’ fans were as bad to opposing Eagles’ fans at the Meadowlands as Eagles’ fans were at the Vet.

I was on the receiving end of that twice.

  • SteveH

Ok, that was about 1000002635623x harder than it needs to be, but a win is a win.

  • Corry

That was way uglier than it should have been, but on the bright side, QB is the least of my concerns.

    • jshort

He has some things to work on but he has two more games.

      • SteveH

Knocked the rust off some, honestly compared to the fucking defense Foles is so far down my list of concerns right now.

    • xeynon

I agree that there were things he could’ve done better but if you’d told me two weeks ago the Eagles QB was going to go 24-38 for 227 yards and 4 TDs against the Giants I would’ve responded “awesome, another great game for Carson”.

  • ChoTime

    Win= good
    the defense = WTF?

    • SteveH

The defense was sleepwalking through most of that one. No clue what the hell they were doing. I think the Giants had about 345 yards on slants.

  • Someguy77

Win is a win is a win.

Losing a game like this to a turd team on the road really would have hurt.

  • T_S_O_P

    Those meddling Giants

  • truehaynes

the announcer today was an idiot. constantly making false statements. ended it with the eagles need to win one more and vikings need to lose one more game. um no. we win one of the next two games and we have HFA

    • joe

He was a little over the top with “Giants Pride” all game.

      • Howie Littlefinger

        Yup 2-12 pride lololollol

    • xeynon

To be fair he did say that while the outcome of this game was technically still in doubt.

That comment wondering why the Eagles would call a timeout when the Giants had fourth and goal was idiotic though.

    • Howie Littlefinger

He is the brother of Vikings GM, I believe. Certainly seemed biased all afternoon to me

  • Dragon_Eagle

Can I open my eyes now?

    • SteveH

I’m not sure, I don’t think I actually want to look at the defense at all.

    • A_T_G

I’d answer, but how will you know?

      • Dragon_Eagle

        Type in all caps.

    • Masked Man

      Yes, you can!

  • kajomo

Rasul needs to suit up next week. If Darby can’t get his shot together he needs to sit. That was fucking pathetic by him.

  • Someguy77

Figure the Vikings and Saints are going to win out too which would have made a loss that much more difficult to absorb.

This team has just looked like a completely different team at home this year. Far superior to the road version.

Losing home field would be a big blow.

  • xeynon

I’m glad we pulled out the win and am encouraged by Foles’ play. He was very good and his numbers would’ve been even better if not for some big drops.

The play of the defense has to be a huge concern however. If they’re this bad in the playoffs, we’re not winning regardless of whether we have Wentz, Foles, Tom Brady, or the ghost of Otto Graham at QB.

    • Someguy77

Ghost of Otto Graham though does give them the ‘Intangibles’ factor in a big way.

      • SteveH

        Tough to sack, that one.

        • xeynon

His inability to interact with tangible objects could cause issues with ball security however.

          • SteveH

And it’s Graham in the shotgun… and he fumbles! It’s rolling towards the goal line! Graham falls on it but… No Graham fails to secure it!

    • ChoTime

Possibly, but Eli was able to move the ball on us in the first game, too. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on, but I’m not sure every QB is going have this much success.

      • xeynon

Yeah, Eli seems to have Schwartz’s number, and it’s true that not every team we play will have a QB able to hit those quick timing patterns as well as he does. There are a couple we’ll likely have to beat to win the Super Bowl who will however.

    • Masked Man

You think these guys are tired? Third straight road game. Emotional week this week too with Carson.

  • SteveH

So I wasn’t really following here, what was the wisdom on that Torrey Smith catch at the goal line there? It looked like he caught, and instead of running strait ahead into the end zone, actually slowed down and waited for the contact. What the fuck was that?

    • Masked Man

Torrey made no play for the goal line. Just like he made no play for the 1st down marker on that other catch. Situational football. Don’t know where Torrey’s head is at on those plays. Show some awareness. Make the effort.

      • SteveH

It was bizarre because he tightened up like he was expecting a hit to come from in front of him but there was no one between him and the endzone. Worst case scenario he falls foward and doesn’t quite get there but… fuck man at least try lol.

        • Masked Man

Torrey’s making a great case for starting Mack Hollins next year…….

          • Howie Littlefinger

Next year as in January, right???

          • Masked Man

That’s up to Dougie I guess

          • Mr. Magee

Why wait? Why hasn’t Hollins put Torrey on the bench by now?

      • Howie Littlefinger

He ran backwards on the other catch. He needs to be benched.

      • Mr. Magee

No idea why Mack Hollins has not taken away his snaps at this point… Hope it’s not misplaced veteran loyalty, stay in your lane type stuff, but I suspect that’s what it is.

  • A_T_G

On the plus side, no one needs to worry about us entering the playoffs untested in close games or facing adversity.

    • Masked Man

Offense held their own today. Nick Foles held his own.

  • SteveH

I love how the Steelers always spend the whole week before the Patriots game woofing and barking and yada yada and they always get their ass kicked.

Always reminds me that the more woofing a team does before a game the more intimidated they actually are.

    • Someguy77

Conflicting reports about how limited Brady was this week though due to that Achilles’ injury.

Pats are saying he is ready to go/near 100% but I tend it doubt it.

    • xeynon

My dark horse prediction for the AFC playoffs: everybody assumes it will be a Pats/Steelers AFC title game and today’s game only determines where it’s played, but one of these teams gets knocked off by the Jaguars in the divisional round.

      • Patrick

I agree. That defense is not only for real, its one of the best defenses in regular season history. We’ll see how they do in the playoffs, but a team that doesn’t give up points and can run the ball can do well in the post-season, even if their passing game isn’t good. People forget that last year the Pats almost got knocked out by the Osweiler Texans because they played good defense.

I’ll go out and say it, and it have been this way for a while. The Jags are my AFC Championship opponents against the Pats, and the only reason they aren’t my SB pick, is because by now no-one should ever pick against Belichick and Brady in the postseason.

Not that it really matters, I was more focused on the NFC but with the injury to Ginger Jesus, you focus more on good games…Cries many tears in a very non-manly way.

        • Someguy77

Yeah the Jags’ secondary hasn’t gotten nearly the props it deserves this year because it doesn’t have any household names & they play in arguably the worst NFL market.

Big problem though is they need Bortles to play fairly well and I would bet against him especially on the road in Pittsburgh/NE.

          • Patrick

I’d honestly argue, that the 2 best CBs in the league played for the Jags. Their safeties aren’t amazing, but good NFL players.

Their front 7 is nuts. Pusluszny is a veteran leader and a good run stupper. Smith and Jack flies around and makes plays in all aspects of the game and their line is amazing.

I haven’t studied them or anything, but their OL is supposedly played very well, they have loads of playmakers and can pound the ball with 3 NFL caliber RBs. It’ll basically be all on Bortles if they fall apart. I’m still hoping they decide to pay Kirk Cousins. Not only because it’ll be fun to see, especially in the AFC, but because the Skins would lose him.

        • xeynon

I also think they match up very well against both the Steelers and the Pats. They already smeared the Steelers in Pittsburgh this season, and their defense is precisely the kind that has always given Brady the most problems. And I think Bortles can be good enough against the Patriots’ defense, which isn’t great.

      • sonofdman

That is why I want Pittsburgh to win this game. It would be sweet if the Jags get the bye and then host the Pats in the divisional round.

    • ChoTime

      tie game?

  • sonofdman

Ok where is the gif of Foles? Someone needs to post it.

    • Masked Man

      That gansta gif

  • Someguy77

No one puts Nicky Foles in the corner!

  • Corry

Oh and now the Eagles don’t have to leave Philly for 4 weeks at least. 2 home games to end the season, bye week, home playoff game.

  • jshort

What could we get for FOles? if he can stay consistent.

    • GermanEagle

      A super bowl win maybe?!

    • xeynon

I’m thinking we start by demanding the Ricky Williams package (some other team’s entire draft, starting with a top 5 pick). Honestly though that might not be enough.

    • sonofdman

Do you think Minnesota would give us Bradford for him if we threw in a second round pick?

      • ChoTime

nowadays, MN would be the one throwing in the pick imo

        • sonofdman

          🙂

  • ChoTime

looks like we don’t have to worry about Green Bay now?

    • xeynon

Yeah I think they’re toast. I always thought they were a long shot though. Of all the things to worry about in the playoffs, Rodgers getting them in and leading them on a run was way down my list personally.

      • Duracell

Now the hope is the Seahawks stay out of the playoffs.

        • sonofdman

And that Detroit gets in and upsets the Rams in the first round.

          • xeynon

This is the dream. Detroit is bad, I have no idea how they’re still in the running in a good conference like this year’s NFC.

  • GermanEagle

D sucked big time today. However that is fixable. Backup QB is usually not. And Foles performance gives us hope. #Believe

    • Duracell

I’m hoping that with the long week and being back home, the D will turn it around. There are clear issues in the secondary that may not be fixable though. If Foles keeps playing like he did today, hopefully we can get away with that.

    • Mr. Magee

Fixable, yes – just need some heart. Otherwise, a new DC, position coaches, and players will do.

      • Masked Man

Nah, you have to give them credit for the whole season.

Giants give us trouble. We just have to work on it.

        • Mr. Magee

Dude, the D has sucked for a month now… As to who they are, if I have to pick between early season D and late season, I’m going with most recent activity

          • anon

D isn’t perfect but got two picks that put us in the redzone. Guys that blocked punts are the same D players, wasn’t just ST guys

          • Mr. Magee

Def not ‘perfect’… Gave up > 500 yards to NY Giants’ 2nd string offense

          • Masked Man

In 5 weeks, the defense gave up-
            Bears – 3 pts

            Cowboys – 9 pts

            @Hawks – 24 pts

            @Rams – 35 pts

            @Giants – 29 pts

          • Mr. Magee

Dude, it’s been 26 days since the Cowboys game – so I rounded to a month.

And if you think this defense has been anything but hot garbage since then, you need to put the bottle down. Their D is in big trouble at this point.

          • Masked Man

See, now I have to say something to you.

First off, stop “Dude-ing” me, Dude… You don’t know me like that. Also-

            1) You are crying to everybody on the page who will listen when your team is 12-2, first to clinch a division champion, and first to clinch a playoff bye. Man up!

            2) Also, it’s only been 21 days since the Seahawks game. That’s not a month!!!! It’s three weeks. You are exaggerating way over the top.

            3) Facing a recent Super Bowl champion at their home might be a tough game. The Pats and Steelers are winning games close and losing a few tough games too.

            4) Facing a contender like the Rams on the same road trip – that’s a top offense in the NFC. Don’t forget we won it.

            5) The Giants game today had “LOSS” written all over it. Classic trap game. We won it. So quit whining. At least don’t whine to me.

            6) We’re 12-2 and moving forward. I think the players might be a little tired at this point. That happens in sports.

            So kwit ‘cher whinin’, Magee………..

          • Mr. Magee

            Ok dude, whatever you say

      • GermanEagle

        Lol…

  • xeynon

Man, why do we have to choose between watching Pats-Steelers and Rams-Seahawks for the afternoon game, while we get a dog poop Cowboys-Raiders game for the SNF matchup?

    • ACViking

      But . . . but . . . but . . . Dak . . .

    • ChoTime

      cowboys = ratings?

      • xeynon

Even when they’re almost certainly dead in the playoff race?

        • Masked Man

          Sean Lee = Ratings

  • ACViking

Had no firm grasp until today on just how much better Wentz makes this team.

    Especially Ron Darby.

    • Crus57

I had forgotten that I now essentially take 3rd downs and 4th and 1s for granted, our offence is mortal again.

      • anon

        that sneak was terrible.

        • Crus57

we really need to do that trick of having the RB slam into the back of the QB to force the pile forwards I think, Foles doesn’t seem to get much drive in sneaks.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      He’s still no Sean Lee

      • Masked Man

(We would have scored 50 if Sean Lee wasn’t out…..)

  • Someguy77

Don’t know how ‘fixable’ the defense is at this point. The struggle to deploy a standard 4-3 set because of the MLB personnel. Teams which have a half decent running game can attack them.

Teams have shown you can attack these corner CBs and now Robinson got hurt today which limits their secondary a bit more given how well he has played this season in the slot.

    • Eagles4life

We need to activate Sydney Jones and play next 2 games to get playing experience and hopefully come playoffs he is at least a decent CB

  • Donald Kalinowski

3rd round pick for Ron Darby was a waste.

    • Someguy77

Way too premature to say that.

    • GermanEagle

      LOL

  • Someguy77

Everybody is going to harp on the secondary but it comes back to the DL.

Last 2 weeks they have played at nowhere near the level they did earlier this year.

I posted on here earlier this week that this team will go as far as the DL takes them. Feel no different after today.

If they play like they did the last 2 weeks, they’ll be one and done in the playoffs.

    • Mr. Magee

I think I agree (ie, the secondary blows, and now so does the front 4)

      • Someguy77

Secondary doesn’t blow but coverage isn’t going to be a strength of it especially given their speed (McLeod/Mills/Douglas if he gets pressed into duty).

More a physical/bigger secondary which is what Schwartz supposedly prefers especially in his CBs.

        • Mr. Magee

If that accurately summarizes Schwartz’s philosophy, I look forward to him moving on – hopefully to another NFC east team.

      • Duracell

I don’t think the front four blows. The Giants have schemed to take them out of the equation. They did the same earlier in the season, and it didn’t stop our front four from dominating other teams after that.

    • A_T_G

I still think we are seeing how important Hicks is. Much like the Cowboys with and without Lee.

      • xeynon

A lot of the impact of losing a great player depends on how good the backup is. Foles is a competent, lower-tier starter level NFL QB so going from Wentz to him isn’t crippling. Vaitai has had his ups and downs but is a serviceable LT so losing Peters isn’t crippling. Our backup plan to Hicks is going from a normal 4-3 defense to one that only plays two linebackers most of the time because we only have two other decent LBs on the roster and his backup is Joe Walker. That has the potential to be crippling.

        • Someguy77

Statistically they equated him to Bortles and Dalton. I think that is pretty apt.

Kind of why I thought Foles was irrelevant to them winning or not.

With the upgraded skill players (and Ertz back), they’ll put up some points on the board.

Just a question if they need to have to put up 27-28+ points to have a realistic shot of winning every week. If they do, they aren’t winning 2 games in the playoffs.

    • xeynon

The secondary deserves to get roasted after this game. The weakness of the dink-and-dunk style offense the Giants were running is that it has trouble getting yards in chunks and requires extreme efficiency to sustain drives. That is, unless your secondary misses tackle after tackle and allows them to get X plays without throwing the ball downfield, and/or bites on the short throws enough to set up the double move – which is exactly what happened today.

      • Mr. Magee

Other than not stopping the run and giving up X plays on short passes, I thought they played well… Showed a lot of heart

      • Someguy77

Shaky tackling by the secondary (which has been an issue the past 3 weeks) is a more pressing issue.

That is something which should can be more readily addressed even in a week.

  • Someguy77

Darby is going to get all kinds of grief but McLeod gave up his share of plays today as well today.

Supposed to be a big hitter but have seen almost no indication of this the past 2 years and he is slow especially on over the top help.

    • Mr. Magee

Dude, you said the secondary doesn’t blow. Who has played well the last 4 weeks? We’ve ruled out Darby and McLeod so far…

      • Someguy77

Jenkins is very solid, Robinson has generally played well, and Darby and McLeod don’t ‘blow.’

Darby just had a really tough game today and McLeod has his physical limitations.

Kind of how I feel about Mills. He can’t play outside CB because he is too slow but it doesn’t mean he might not be a solid fit at slot CB or S.

        • Mr. Magee

          We’ll agree to disagree

      • Mitchell

Dude, when are you changing your name to ” Mr. Negative?”

        • Mr. Magee

Sorry Mitch, I call ‘em as I see ‘em. And I know what it takes to win when it matters.

    • xeynon

Darby at least made a huge play to set up our second TD. Mills and McLeod were both net negatives.

    • Mitchell

Today he had some of the hardest hits I have seen him make.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Let’s remember this team has been on the road all month

The defense really thrives at home. We knew the DB group is kinda week and honestly if Bradham had hands we wouldn’t even be having this concern.

He’s dropped 3 or 4 INT the last few weeks

    • Masked Man

Long road series with three weeks. Division game at the end of it. Lost Carson this week was emotional.

Definition of a trap game. Great job to get the win!

We’re 12-2 and moving on with a home field advantage!

      • Howie Littlefinger

Yup, Eli cuts us up everytime but he loses to us more often than not. That game was hard to watch but they have heart. We are set up well.

Foles played well but it really felt like a team effort with the skill position players. They get the game ball.

    • Masked Man

Hey Howie! An 8 day week before we play again too.

  • Checkdown Charlie

Which victory is more depressing to you?
Last week with Carson, or the D this week?

    • Mr. Magee

      Def last week

    • A_T_G

      Last week, hands down.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      This week for me.
I was hoping our D could see us through.
Im not so sure of that now.

    • FairOaks

Last week and not even close.

We were pretty ticked at the defense last time we played the Giants too, but that wasn’t indicative of future play. We can hope the same is true this time. The D really only pummels the bad QBs though, and those won’t exist in the playoffs.

      • Someguy77

        This times 100x.

They won this game on the road with a Giants’ team that played well behind Eli today.

Without the special teams historical blocks today, the Eagles likely lose this one.

  • A_T_G

    Rams up 20-0 on Seattle.

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Good

  • GermanEagle

    Negadelphians at their best.

    • Masked Man

A 34-29 road win against a division opponent after three straight weeks on the road and your starting QB is out? I’ll take it.

      • GermanEagle

If someone told me Foles was passing for 4 TDs and 0 Ints I would have taken it in a heartbeat.

        • Someguy77

          Of course. Pretty obvious.

Womack did an ok job today too given all things considered. Nice getting Ertz back as well.

No complaints about the offensive game calling at all either. Nice mix of run & pass and didn’t ask Foles to do too much.

Foles didn’t have one throw today where he really forced it and spread the ball around pretty well too.

        • xeynon

Sure, but nobody is being negative about Foles, because he was good.

          The defense is the issue.

    • Someguy77

Kind of understandable after this type of defense against a woeful Giants’ offense.

I said below a win is a win and they needed to keep pace for home-field advantage.

      • GermanEagle

        Cry along..

        • Someguy77

Eagles’ fans don’t cry. They will complain vocally to one another largely regardless of how things went and then become very tribal against any outsider.

          • GermanEagle

SOME eagles fans can be downright ignorant dickheads though. Like in a Philly Bar last week when most them were cursing about how bad of a coach Doug Pederson is.

          • Dragon_Eagle

I think those types are in the minority and by far. They are just far more pubic, vocal, loud and obnoxious and thus draw the attention. Most of us are just feeling forever cursed.

          • Someguy77

            They are just dopey then.

He has been very good this year and today was no exception.

  • xeynon

Man, I hope Antonio Brown isn’t seriously hurt. This season has been awful for injuries. How many marquee players can go out for the year in one season?

  • jmh

Anyone else catch Nicky Six making an incredibly intelligent move towards the end of the third quarter? It was 3rd down and Eagles have the ball. I forget how many yards we needed, but Nick was looking at the sideline getting the play call from Dug. He turns around to enter the huddle and immediately jumps backward like the ground was on fire. Took me a minute to figure out what happened. The substitution package was still switching out. If Nick steps in, the refs call 12 men in the huddle.
With all that is going on, how does a QB see that instantly, and react like he did. I was impressed.

    • A_T_G

      Yep, saw that.

    • xeynon

Foles is very smart and game aware. You might beat him by exploiting physical limitations but he’s not going to beat himself with mental mistakes.

      • Crus57

I would be very interested to know what was happening downfield on those throws where Foles was double-clutching it – did he not trust what he was seeing, or did the Giants show him something tricksy or was it just rust?

  • xeynon

Rams absolutely demolishing the Seahawks in Seattle. That win last week is looking more and more impressive.

    • Someguy77

Yeah the Seahawks got bitch slapped by the Jags as well last week.

Eagles just shot themselves in the foot and Wilson had a great game.

    • ChoTime

Does that mean the loss against the Hawks 2 weeks ago looks worse and worse?

  • Masked Man

We’re 12-2 with a bye and a home field advantage!
