Gameday – PHI at SEA

We have the inactives for tonight.

The most interesting one is MLB Joe Walker being out with a stinger. That means Dannell Ellerbe is active. What we don’t know is who will play MLB in the base defense and short yardage situations. Najee Goode could get the call. He’s been here for a while and knows the system. Ellerbe is the better player. He’s got a lot more starting experience. The question is whether he knows the system well enough.

Since Seattle struggles to run, my guess is Goode will play. It would be interesting to get a look at Ellerbe.

WR Shelton Gibson is active for the second straight week. He played last week, but didn’t do a whole lot. The #5 WR generally isn’t going to play much or get many targets. The Eagles obviously want him active for a reason. I assume he’s been good in practice and they’re trying to reward him. Gibson does have explosive speed so expect a deep ball to come his way one of these days.

Beau Allen is back at DT. That’s good. Would have been a nice story for Elijah Qualls to play in Seattle because he went to college there, but Allen is the better player. Chasing Russell Wilson around will wear the DL down. The Eagles will likely need to rotate a lot of guys tonight. Having Allen available is a good thing.

*****

The Vikings won today to improve to 10-2. That means the Eagles need to win in order to stay atop the NFC playoff standings. Per noted football guru Jimmy Bama, the Vikings currently own the tiebreaker with the Eagles. Being #1 in early December is nice, but doesn’t guarantee anything. Still plenty of football left, no matter how tonight goes.

That said, start cheering against the Vikings.

*****

I think the TEs could be key tonight. Trey Burton is active and could be a tough matchup for Seattle. He made some big plays in the win over Denver.

*****

This is a game that either team can win. As tough as it is to win in Seattle, they lost their last two home games…to ATL and WAS.

I’m interested to see what happens if the Eagles play a great game. Can Seattle match that?

  • Masked Man

We have the more complete team. We should win, even if it’s not by 28 points.

By the end of the 4th quarter the Eagles are rolling. I say 27-17 and the Eagles cover the spread.

  • CrackSammich

I completely forgot Beatty was on the team.

    • A_T_G

      Hopefully that never changes.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Man I hope our guys get to play tick tack toe on the bench in the 2nd half!

    I’m Hyped!!!

  • CrackSammich

Watkins is the only DB to dress for us this year without an Int. Mills, Robinson, McLeod have 3. Douglas, Jenkins, Graham have 2. Darby has 1

Vaeao and Qualls are the only DL without at least a half sack. (Edit, and Means, who isn’t listed on ESPN stats website)

  • scratcherk

OT: Baby has fever of 105. Gonna be distracted this game. Think he’s fine but wife took him to ED.

    • or____

Good luck. Hope she recovers fully and quickly, and with as little stress as possible for you and the wife.

      • scratcherk

was eating, didnt seem dehydrated but they should prob get cultures etc…

    • Crus57

Best of luck to you all!

    • A_T_G

Our pediatrician told us a few times that babies are much more tolerant to fevers that would be scary in adults. Not that the random ancedote of some guy on the internet will put you much at ease, but we’ve been there.

      • scratcherk

appreciate it. i texted a few pediatrician friends. two said take to ED and one said just watch. So we went with the majority…

    • daveH

Good luck .thought of a few funny comebacks, like can he still play special teams, or return punts or might have to deactivate him for this game. .. but nothings really funny w baby sick. . Glad u are in touch w several good pediatricians, hope he gets SoMe good rest while we all squirm … and you can remind him/her about this in 16yrs !! Best wishes!
      Go baby Scratch.
      Go BIRDS !!

  • Crus57

I tried to convince myself to go to bed, but then I thought: how often am I going to see a season like this? And it’s always best watching the games live rather than on replay. So I shall be sleeping late tomorrow, or indeed later today as it already is this side of the pond.

  • Ryan Rambo

Butterflies in full effect!! Let’s go BIRDS!!!!

  • Dragon_Eagle

Curious to see how well Philly fans are representing. Not easy tix to get for away fans I would think.

  • CrackSammich

What is this, casual sunday? No suits for the broadcasters anymore?

    • Howie Littlefinger

      Untuckit

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Its Seattle. They’re overdressed.

  • Howie Littlefinger

    I’m thankful for the vikings.

They will be that team who does amazing regular season and then the magic will be gone.

    Philly Spirit Bomb

  • meteorologist

Since when does SNF start at 8:30 not 8:15. Ugh

  • SteveH

HERE WE GO BOYS! BEAT DAT ASS!

  • Ark87

It’s time to beat this team, then watch the seahawks fall apart in the coming weeks so people can still say we haven’t beat anyone good

    • Howie Littlefinger

      It’s kinda our thing.

  • SteveH

    FUCK YOU CHRIS PRATT

  • CrackSammich

And why is there a car on their fucking flag pole? I think that may be the only thing stupider that the Islanders giving up ice seats to a car in their stadium.

  • Insomniac

Wonder what sea chicken tastes like? We’ll find out soon!

  • Dragon_Eagle

Missed tackle. Rare sighting, but let’s clean that shit up.

  • scratcherk

    good pursuit by curry

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Good job Curry.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Looks like it is Najee Goode starting at MLB, yes?

    • Insomniac

      Yup

  • SeanofDead

Not even 4 minutes in and the defense has given up more first down then they did in the first half last week

    • FairOaks

      That happened two plays in

  • scratcherk

    rub route

  • Insomniac

    We’re getting Alex Smith’d

  • CrackSammich

    ahhhhhhhhhhh

  • scratcherk

    so close.

  • scratcherk

    get the hits on buddy.

  • scratcherk

    good stop

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Good stop.

  • CrackSammich

“He was a WR in high school”

Chip Kelly was a DB in high school, but I wouldn’t put him out there against an NFL WR.

    • Dragon_Eagle

I would. It would be funny.

  • Insomniac

Cut Kendricks they said, what a frigging tackle.

  • CTbirdsguy

if theyre gonna go with the 1000 paper cut offense (all quick throws), is there a defensive adjustment we need to make? DL hands up, more press, are these things antithetical to our normal approach?

    • SeanofDead

dl can drop back, dbs will start to jump the routes, etc
      Schwarz will adjust

    • ChoTime

there is no adjustment. that’s why ive been so surprised the havent beendoing it

  • ChoTime

here. would like some ipa, but i just ate 1000 calories at smashburger. not good for the diet

    • CrackSammich

Can’t drink at work, so I’m getting uncomfortably caffeinated instead.

  • Masked Man

Settle for 3 points there! Go Eagles!

  • shah8

okay, let’s see what the O can do…

  • Dave

So it looks like Seattle will be the first team since the Giants to expose the defense playing 7 yards off the ball with quick short passes.

    • CrackSammich

The almost interception there is a perfect example of how that will bite you in the long run.

    • Masked Man

You see the defense getting those hands up though…

    • kajomo

We just took their best shot of scripted plays and a pumped up fan base. As game goes on the D will tighten things up

      • Dave

That’s when they throw it deep.

  • Ark87

    Announcer:”PSA this kicker sucks”
Me:”here comes a perfect kick down the center”

  • Dragon_Eagle

OK Doug. Here’s where you earn that coach of the year consideration. Loud stadium, good defense, and we need a drive to start taking the crowd out of it. Do you have the offense prepared?

  • SteveH

I can live with that opening drive, but it would have been nice if we’d gotten the pick.

  • scratcherk

    good ol barner.

  • CrackSammich

    ..what number was that, Studders?

    • FairOaks

      Timely microphone dropout there

  • scratcherk

    Number ….

  • scratcherk

    same start as last game

  • Crus57

I have to say, I don’t think ’10 yard penalty’ has been playing well for us this year, always seems to hurt the team when his name is called.

  • Checkdown Charlie

Does Smith always get first throw?

    • scratcherk

      sometimes two!

  • Donald Kalinowski

    Bye Torrey

  • scratcherk

    FLAG THAT B

  • CrackSammich

If it weren’t for those intros at the beginning of games, I’d have no idea what Brooks looks like.

    • scratcherk

      thats a good thing.

  • scratcherk

    wentz jawing!

  • Donald Kalinowski

Whenever the Eagles fumble the snap I get excited.

    • Dragon_Eagle

      You must’ve loved Mark Sanchez

  • scratcherk

    TRUCKED

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Punish them, LeGarrette.

  • ChoTime

you guys think that was a dirty hit?

    • CrackSammich

      Yep.

    • scratcherk

      yes

      • ChoTime

        me too

    • CTbirdsguy

exceptionally stupid, but not what I’d call dirty

    • Insomniac

      10000000%

    • FairOaks

On Wentz? Yeah a little. He went for the head with the shoulder, to a spot that would have been nonsensical if there was no slide — i.e. he picked the spot once he saw the slide.

Wentz’ slide was late enough that a simple hit probably would be OK, but not accelerating once you see the slide, especially going for the head.

  • scratcherk

    go for it?

  • CrackSammich

    God dammit dug.

  • meteorologist

I thought 4th and 1 was an automatic “go” by the math

  • SteveH

I don’t think Blount is right for this game, you’re not going to outmuscle the Seahawks, I’d rather see more of Clement and Ajayi for the speed.

    • sonofdman

He looked ok to me when he ran for 8 yards on second down.

      • SteveH

He had a huge hole, on that last 3rd down run there was a nice cutback lane he didn’t even try for. I think someone like Clement would be able to take advantage of that.

    • meteorologist

Exactly. Expected to see much more Ajayi this game for that reason

  • Dragon_Eagle

OK. Surprising we punted, but now its on the defense. Need to get a stop here.

    • kajomo

It was the right call. Let’s get better field position after a defensive stop

      • Ark87

if you’re 10 for 10 on 4-1, i think odds favor going for it

        • kajomo

We didn’t even cross the 50. If we cross the 50 I’m saying go, but with th crowd noise and them with a lead not worth th rosk

    • shah8

eeh, I’m almost looking forward to it. I want Wentz stress tested.

  • ChoTime

    really not goig for this

  • Ark87

    don’t like that call

  • shah8

Seahawks good interior intimidates what should have been a QB sneak.

    • FairOaks

Yeah, may want to wait for later in the game when the defense isn’t quite as jacked up.

  • Insomniac

Doug is just gambling on getting better field position via interception right????

    • Dragon_Eagle

Setting up the strip-sack-TD-return, I think.

  • CrackSammich

jesus, is Eliquis even safe to take after all of those side effects?

  • meteorologist

    hahaha waste your downs Seahawks

  • CrackSammich

    damn boys

  • nicolajNN

What’s with the field, or cleats? Been a few Eagles slipping

    • scratcherk

was thinking same, torrey, lane, etc.

  • scratcherk

    BG is a bad man.

    • CrackSammich

      again

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Pay the man.

  • scratcherk

    ATTA BOYS!

  • scratcherk

    Joeckel got joked.

  • SteveH

    OHHHH GRAHAM OWNED JOKEL.

  • CrackSammich

    Dug proven correct.

  • TXEaglesFan

Wow joekel was a joke on that block

  • ChoTime

    dayum

  • Dragon_Eagle

So, we gained about 5-10 yards exchanging punts. Doug is genius.

  • scratcherk

    Never doubt the Doug.

  • meteorologist

When the lineman is facing backwards he just got rekt. BG rekt that drive

  • Donald Kalinowski

    Heard and Eagles chant lol

    • Tdoteaglefan

      Lol me too…that was great

  • Insomniac

All part of the plan right

  • kajomo

    See. Right call to punt

    • meteorologist

      Eh. Process not outcome

    • A_T_G

I wanted to go for it, but we gained a few yards in the exchange v

  • shah8

Knew this, but seahawks OL is horrible…

  • Masked Man

Yo! Field position up!!!! Dougie did good.

  • Ryan Rambo

This run D is a monsta. Joeckel did the Electric Slide trying to block Graham

  • CrackSammich

    God dammit.

  • scratcherk

    darn

  • CrackSammich

That Torrey with the Diabetes shoes? My man.

  • scratcherk

    calm the nerves carson

  • A_T_G

Wentz seemed a little keyed up in prime time again.

    • CrackSammich

Call a QB draw and let him take that hit he wants.

  • SeanofDead

ugh..that would’ve been 6 with that much open space for Ag to operate

  • SteveH

    man… Wentz you gotta hit that… man….

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Need points here

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Damn

  • Ryan Rambo

Don’t worry. Carson will make up for that. Just gotta settle down. We look like the better team still.

    • Dragon_Eagle

We do, but this is not a team you can miss opportunities and make mistakes against. Gotta get it going soon.,

      • Ryan Rambo

You’re right, but panicking isn’t the answer either. Carson will settle down and lead us to victory. We always get that spark play that gets us rolling.

    • A_T_G

Yep. It feels like they are holding the boulder, but we will get it rolling down the hill soon.

    • dandynator

yep gotta make that but at least when wentz miss its to the wipe open wr so theres that

  • CrackSammich

Clement with a damn fine tackle.

  • DarthBanner

    Looking unprepared on offense.

    • FairOaks

Wentz can’t miss a wide-open guy like that on the play-action pass. Hit that, and we look more prepared.

      • DarthBanner

Correct. Also, if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle.

        • FairOaks

One of those is slightly more likely to be corrected in the future.

          • A Roy

You’re wasting effort with the troll. Yes, you’re right, but arguing with a pig just makes one look stoopid.

    • xeynon

I know you’re still intent on believing Pederson is a bad coach, but no, they don’t look unprepared on offense.

They ran a play action play that got Agholor wide open down the field for what would have been a TD, and Wentz missed the throw. That’s just a bad throw.

      • DarthBanner

Bad throw, didn’t go for it on 4th and 1, not moving the ball. But sure, totally prepared.

  • Ark87

Alright dougie, you need to establish the run, remember, Getting old waiting for you to figure this out in the 3rd quarter

  • SteveH

Wentz baby… You gotta make that throw man… Come on chin up, make up for it later.

  • ChoTime

    the trademark wentz overthrow

    • Ryan Rambo

      lol Damnit

    • Howie Littlefinger

He gets better as the game goes on.

  • Masked Man

No, this is OK. Eagles don’t need to press. Let the game come to them.

Field position is good. Put pressure on Wilson now.

  • kajomo

That 4 down territory. Should have run it on 3rd

  • Dave

2 possessions, 2 passes to Ags, 2 to Torrey. Could we please throw it to our 2 best receivers and not the 2 worst…Ertz & Alshon

    • scratcherk

      Shelton Gibson begs to differ.

      • Dave

So does Mack, Trey, & Celek

  • Masked Man

Want to see Corey Clement in the offense.

  • xeynon

Man, I hope we don’t end up regretting Carson missing that wide open throw.

  • CrackSammich

Was that a little Spider 2 Y Banana?

  • CrackSammich

That band scene is some outstanding photoshopping.

    • meteorologist

      SNF,MNF visuals are great

  • ChoTime

    RW is good

    • xeynon

Really good. I’d rank him right there with Wentz and Brees in the second tier behind Brady and Rodgers.

  • scratcherk

    DPI, UGH.

  • dandynator

fuck russell wilson scares me ..

    • xeynon

Gonna have to beat elite quarterbacks like him if we want to win the Super Bowl.

      • ChoTime

Wentz has the better team, he needs to step up. This is fun!

  • scratcherk

    UH WHAT?

  • CrackSammich

Where was the DPI? I can see an argument for holding, but that would be weak, too.

  • xeynon

    That’s a really ticky-tack call.

  • TXEaglesFan

    Where?

  • CTbirdsguy

    Classic Seahawks offense

  • kajomo

    Horrible call

  • ChoTime

    clever damn play

  • scratcherk

    HOLDING

  • CrackSammich

And that would *should* have been DPI on Mills, but no call.

  • FairOaks

If there was a flag, it must have been earlier in the route than the end of the throw.

  • scratcherk

    WHAT ABOUT THEIR LT???

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Damn

  • xeynon

We’re off to a bad start here.

  • CrackSammich

So they’re just gonna toss up bombs and let the refs hand them the game, eh?

    • Dragon_Eagle

      If it works, why not?

    • Masked Man

Yeah, I didn’t like that call on Darby at all.

    • SeanofDead

Eagles will grab a couple of those ducks if he keeps lobbing them up there

  • ChoTime

that damn wentz miss hurts. and doug’s conservatism.

  • shah8

Huh, the Seahawks looked nowhere near as good when I watched them against the Rams earlier…

    • xeynon

Still early, but they’re playing at home, and appear to have brought their “A” game. I’m sure they’re psyched for this game.

    • CrackSammich

I feel like you have something to say, but I don’t see you saying it.

  • A Roy

Appears picks Wil be legal tonight.

    • sonofdman

But not reaching for the ball with both hands. That’s DPI.

  • SeanofDead

    Meh…I’m not worried
Good for the team to play from behind a bit, lets see how the react

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Alright. Settle down. Respond.

  • Ark87

Seattle having our number continues, better get that offense moving, Russel Wilson gets better as the game goes not worse

  • kajomo

That call against Darby was bullshit

    • sonofdman

      Yep

    • John Luck Pickerd

As was the holding call. And the illegal block in the backs haven’t been replayed but I’m sure they were questionable.

  • scratcherk

who the fuck are these refs.

    • scratcherk

      is this morelli in disguise

  • Dragon_Eagle

Cut out the sloppy shit boys.

  • CrackSammich

    my god, refs.

  • CTbirdsguy

are they gonna show any of these penalties????

  • A_T_G

Have we been down by 10 this year before now?

    • scratcherk

      kc

    • xeynon

I don’t subscribe to that “it’s good to lose so you get it out of your system” philosophy, but I do think it’s good that they’re tested. If we’re going to win it all we’re going to need overcome challenges like this.

  • kajomo

This is fucking ridiculous. Their OL holds no problem. We do anything and every flag is thrown

  • ChoTime

what, is this a scheduled loss?

    • Crus57

clear leader makes for bad advertising for the league y’know, unless it’s NE.

  • ConcussedFB

    No f’n replay!

  • Checkdown Charlie

The Refs envelope must have been a little thin tonight

  • kajomo

I don’t want to see Blount until the 4th qt. Feed Ajayi and clement

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Panthers game all over?!

Guess we’re gonna have to beat the hawks and refs tonight

  • A_T_G

    Now, QB sneak.

    • A_T_G

      Close enough.

    • CrackSammich

      close enough.

  • Someguy77

Need a score this Drive even if it is a FG.

  • ChoTime

    love alice in chains!

  • CTbirdsguy

no thank you to the shotgun in short yardage

  • Dragon_Eagle

    What was that?

  • ChoTime

ha, wentz is a badass. physical superiority

    • xeynon

He’s one of the most physically gifted QBs in the league. Hopefully he marries the raw ability with more refined mechanics as he matures.

  • Someguy77

Offense is just off kilter so far

  • CrackSammich

    and another flag…

  • CrackSammich

    FINALLY

  • A_T_G

Even with a head start, Bennett couldn’t get past Lane.

  • CrackSammich

    HELL of a run, boys.

  • TXEaglesFan

    Nice power

  • CrackSammich

I love Wis constantly pushing the RB for a few yards.

    • Donald Kalinowski

      Vatai too

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Starting to hum now

  • A_T_G

Clement runs like a guy who it trying to outrun long odds.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Love Vaitai destroying that guy.

  • Someguy77

Glad no Blount. His lack of speed wouldn’t work against this defense

  • TO BLACKS

Merrill Reese is past his prime, he doesn’t call a good game.

  • Donald Kalinowski

Jeez that Vatai block must have hurt

  • CrackSammich

“Howie Roseman, who got all of his power back when they let Chip Kelly go…”

Accurate, but probably the most menacing way to put that.

    • xeynon

I picture Howie sitting in his office at the NovaCare complex and cackling like Palpatine in “Star Wars”:

      “POWAAAAHHHH!!!! UNLIMITED POWAHHHH!!!!!”

  • A_T_G

Looks like Doug remembered there are running plays on the back of his paper.

    • Donald Kalinowski

People always bitch about the lack of run plays when the team doesn’t do well. But sometimes the other team is really good at shutting down the run and the team is forced to throw.

      • A_T_G

Yeah, I agree. And secretly I get excited every time Wentz drops back.

  • CrackSammich

    Offsides.

  • xeynon

    That was offsides.

  • Someguy77

Need a money play from Wentz here

  • scratcherk

    way off sides.

  • TXEaglesFan

Think Wentz was a little shaken up there

  • CTbirdsguy

whatever happened to blowing the play dead for “unevaded to the quarterback”?

    • CrackSammich

      Not Tom Brady.

    • sonofdman

Yeah that one should have been stopped

    • A Roy

      Absolutely. Should have been dead.

    • A_T_G

      I think “unabated” but yeah.

  • A_T_G

    Good, patient run.

  • Someguy77

3rd play already Bennett beat Johnson

    • CrackSammich

      Easier when you’re constantly offsides.

  • ChoTime

that look on wentz’s face made me go cold, thinking injury!

    • meteorologist

      Same

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Dammit

    • Donald Kalinowski

My stream is slow and this comment gave me a heart attack.

  • SteveH

JEFFREY!!!!! GODDAMNIT! STOP SHOOTING OURSELVES IN THE FOOT!

  • TXEaglesFan

    CMon Alshon

  • daveH

If a D player is offsides. . AND crushes the QB .. did be a fine! !!! EVERY TEAM she’d take advantage of that free hit on the qB

  • Someguy77

    Stupid

  • Insomniac

Someone gotta teach Alshon to block, this has been an reoccuring theme for him.

    • Ark87

all he has to do is move the feet and drive and that guy isn’t in the play. He was doing that pathetic find a dance partner thing while both watch the play, except to his surprise, Seattle DB’s don’t do that crap.

      • Insomniac

This is like the third big play that got called back because of his blocking. Or at least I think it’s three.

  • CrackSammich

    Run it again.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Zach Ertz time. Call it.

  • sonofdman

    That sucked

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Needed 6 there

  • DarthBanner

Yuck. Not good red zone play.

  • CrackSammich

    Lot of checkdowns tonight.

  • scratcherk

    former teammates.

  • DarthBanner

Unprepared to play. No edge to their game.

  • RC5000

Not liking Play calls in that sequence after holding call..

  • shah8

    *shaking head*

    • shah8

      Pederson is shook.

      • A Roy

Moved the ball pretty well. Without Jeffery’s play, probable TD. Not worried at this point.

        • shah8

Seahawks are moving too well. Getting dangerous.

  • Dragon_Eagle

OK. Offense is getting in gear. Would’ve liked to have finished.

Need another stop on defense here, give it right back to offense.

  • CrackSammich

Alright. on the board. We’re moving now. Hang in there, folks.

    • TXEaglesFan

Notice the trolls come out when there is any adversity

      • A_T_G

I’m not worried. Playing a good team in their house.

      • A Roy

Losers. Probably trolling from their Mom’s basement. Especially Darth Banner.

        • DarthBanner

Nope, the comfort of my living room. My bad. Missed throws, tons of checkdowns, lots of stupid penalties, and russel wilson singlehandedly picking apart the defense. Good job eagles, i hear they give out super bowls for that…..

  • Someguy77

Poor read by Wentz. Locked in to Ajayi right away and maxwell read it all the way.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      Set up for later

    • Donald Kalinowski

      CUT HIM

      • CrackSammich

        Maxwell?

        • scratcherk

          think its been done.

          • CrackSammich

            Not enough times.

  • Insomniac

Slow start again, the adjustments during half time have to work or this game might slip away.

  • Duracell

Interesting to see Maxwell learned how to tackle after he left the Eagles.

    • Ark87

Great tackler before the Eagles too, not good coaching here in those days

      • RC5000

I think he didn’t give a crap after he got $$.

  • CTbirdsguy

Wilson 8/10-91-1 soooo lets stop that now

  • xeynon

Obviously wanted a TD but that was a good drive. We can move the ball on this team.

  • CrackSammich

    fuck.

  • scratcherk

need to stop playing off so far. too much checkdwon available.

  • Someguy77

RB in the flat is open way too much in the flat early on

    • CTbirdsguy

Think it may be because we’re spying Wilson?

  • CrackSammich

Ran it right where Jernigan wasn’t

    • Ryan Rambo

      and Beau was

  • Insomniac

    NOOOOOOOOOO TIMMY

  • CrackSammich

Every part of that was demolished by the defense.

  • CrackSammich

    Good stop D

  • sonofdman

    Nice hit by Graham!

  • scratcherk

    good stop

  • Checkdown Charlie

    I thought he had it

  • Dragon_Eagle

Whew!! I thought he was gonna get that.

  • CrackSammich

    no flag for that? …

    • TXEaglesFan

      Was tied up with blocker

  • A_T_G

    No flag?

  • xeynon

Wilson scares the crap out of me as an opposing fan. He’s like a good version of Dak Prescott.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Where’s the flag? that was a fair catch!!

  • scratcherk

    obviously no flag….

  • sonofdman

Apparently your allowed to dive at a guy’s knee after he makes a fair catch now

    • ChoTime

Seattle really pushes it. “If you’re not cheatin’, you’re not trying hard enough.”

  • A_T_G

    That seemed…unfair catching.

  • scratcherk

played it back to see if he was blocked into him. nope.

    • A Roy

They get called for so many penalties that the refs don’t bother calling the borderline or 60% fouls.

  • shah8

    Good D.

  • Ark87

I’d say start chucking it deep because these guys ha

    • Ark87

oops, the refs are throwing lots of fflags is what I’m getting at. PI is a high yield flag

  • CrackSammich

Jernigan is good to go. Will be back in.

  • Insomniac

No favors from the refs tonight.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      They are the real opponent

      • Insomniac

It’s not even what’s his face from the Panthers game tonight, I think?

        • Howie Littlefinger

They are fam. weddings and Bro downs

  • scratcherk

lets ditch the torrey smith centered gameplan please.

    • CrackSammich

I can’t believe we’re not attacking where Chancellor would be.

    • A_T_G

But he’s from the west coast…

    • scratcherk

      or not.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      not yet

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Say it louder please.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Offense. Impose will.

  • jmh

    Did Ertz miss the plane?

  • CrackSammich

So are we just not going to test Earl Thomas the whole night? Is that the plan?

  • SteveH

I still don’t like Blount here. I much prefer Clement and Ajayi.

    • Someguy77

      Too slow.

      • scratcherk

just runs into a wall and tries to move it.

  • ChoTime

    dopplegangers

  • DarthBanner

    Activate 3 yard checkdown offense.

    • CrackSammich

      Anddd blocked.

      • DarthBanner

        Right back at ya

  • xeynon

Agholor is good in the open field. We should run more plays designed to get him the ball in space.

  • Dragon_Eagle

They need to use that jet sweep or a reverse. Hawks pursuit is aggressive.

    • CrackSammich

      There you go.

    • xeynon

My guess is they’re setting things up for later in the game.

  • scratcherk

    sneak

  • SteveH

See runs like that are why I want Ajayi, we need speed tonight not power. Now lets fucking go.

    • ChoTime

      nice burst

  • A_T_G

Ajayi is the only person I’ve seen fog up the helmet visor.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      Runs like angry bull

      Breathes like one too

      • Someguy77

Running angry like Blount did the week after he was benched against the Chiefs.

  • CrackSammich

    Asphault. Fish. Verizon.

    • Donald Kalinowski

      Fuck Verizon.

  • Someguy77

Tonight is why I wanted to see more Ajayi. Just so much more dynamic and ability to shift quickly & accelerate that Blount doesn’t have.

  • xeynon

Wentz is basically unstoppable on the sneak.

  • scratcherk

    11/11 for #11

    • Howie Littlefinger

      11-1 is better

  • A_T_G

They knew it was coming…and still couldn’t stop it.

  • CrackSammich

That dog and pony show is gonna ruin someones day later in the season. Yeah, totally not a sneak!

  • CrackSammich

    lol. alright. left handed completion

  • Someguy77

Is this the Reid 2-minute offense?

    • xeynon

Still have a minute to go and timeouts. I don’t think the clock is going to be an issue.

  • CTbirdsguy

Not gonna score TDs without throwing it downfield

  • Welcome to real football. Good game tough

  • SteveH

Wentz is playing tight, I hope he opens it up in the 2nd half.

  • ChoTime

    risky shovel

    • CrackSammich

I feel like I should check the UrbanDictionary definition of that one.

    • Donald Kalinowski

At least he’s playing with more confidence.

    • A_T_G

You are only saying that because he threw it with his left hand, into traffic, while being hit.

  • shah8

The offense tonight is giving me hives. A lot of what I hated from last year, only that the WRs could catch…

  • TXEaglesFan

I’ve gotten pretty complacent over the last few weeks…looks like I’m going to back to doing push ups at halftime.

    • ChoTime

      level of difficulty has increased

  • DarthBanner

    3rd and 2, lets toss it 7 yards deep….

  • scratcherk

    hate the sweep there.

  • xeynon

Not crazy about the toss play there.

    • ChoTime

      shades of 2016

  • RC5000

terrible deep pitch play call vs Seattle.

    • meteorologist

      Eh. It worked earlier

  • CrackSammich

It’s 18 seconds to the half you fucking assholes!

    • bobeph

      you are gay

  • CrackSammich

    Better get another commercial in…

  • DarthBanner

Pretty crappy 1st half from Doug.

  • sonofdman

This is gutless shit from Doug.

    • xeynon

      Respect for Wilson.

      • sonofdman

        Fear. I don’t like it

        • xeynon

I would’ve run the play clock down to one and then called the timeout, then called a max protect deep throw. Low chance of completion but all but runs the clock out and gives you a chance to score.

I guess I’m not outraged by the conservative play here though. We get the ball first in the second half and Wentz hasn’t been razor sharp so far.

          • CTbirdsguy

Didn’t think of that but I would’ve liked it. Or the Tyreek Hill play to Nelson?

          • sonofdman

That’s at least better than what they did. It looked like they had no plan for what to do if they didn’t convert on 3rd down.

    • RC5000

Don’t want to go down 10.

      • DarthBanner

Coaching not to lose always gets you the loss.

        • RC5000

You don’t want to go down 10 there in Seattle.

  • Someguy77

This has been a piss poor 2-minute offense drive including all the time wasted and slow pacex

  • CrackSammich

    great punt, but fuck everything.

  • shah8

    Come on, now…

  • DarthBanner

Worst half from Doug this season so far.

  • Ark87

    wtf doug

    • CrackSammich

      Shades of Andy Reid.

  • Insomniac

Pizza and beer is making everything a little better tonight.

  • bobeph

    wentz is off bad tonight

  • ChoTime

don’t see the thought process here

    • ChoTime

who’s playing tight, wentz or doug?

      • kajomo

        Doug

      • Dragon_Eagle

        Both

  • Allen3000

I mean, we’re due for a bad game, but this is perplexing….

  • CTbirdsguy

What an ugly-ass performance against a Sherman/Chancellor-less defense from the #1 scoring offense in the league

  • scratcherk

    time for some halftime adjustments!

  • Insomniac

Half time adjustments will set us straight right??

  • kajomo

We really need to open things up a bit. Run game is working, but we need a few chunk plays mixed in

  • truehaynes

We really should have gone for it on 4th both times. Show confidence in your team

    • meteorologist

      Seriously

    • sonofdman

I don’t like that Doug has been aggressive all season and now goes conservative against a good team.

    • Dragon_Eagle

That second time for sure. not much time left, even if you don’t get it, Seattle really has no time to do anything against our D which is playing well.

    • xeynon

I’d like to see what the analytics say. Pederson’s generally not afraid to take risks so I’m curious if there’s a reason he’s playing it conservative here.

      • ChoTime

It kind of looks like he’s lost his nerve. Wonder if Wentz was throwing for crap in practice or something.

        • daveH

          He looks foggy today. ..

      • Insomniac

There better be some bizarre stat where the Seahawks don’t allow many TDs after 4th down conversions.

  • Ark87

Can’t believe we are going after their front 7 not the decimated secondary. I like running the ball, and it’s working well, but if you aren’t going to turn that into play action to gash them, I don’t know what your plan is

  • bobeph

    im gonna fight cracksammich

  • meteorologist
  • CrackSammich

At least the refs have taken their boot off of our necks.

  • Masked Man

Well, we asked for a tough game. We got it.

    • Insomniac

Shot ourselves in the foot and we’re damn close to shooting off a leg now.

  • Someguy77

Wentz needs to stop looking and locking into his first checkdown option. Like last year in the 2nd half too much.

    • DJH

Big test for Carson tonight. I thought he was loosening up a bit at the end of the half. Very interested to see what he looks like in the second half.

  • SteveH

Man, I’d rather go down swinging than play too conservative. I wonder if it’s more Carson or Doug’s gameplan that has us small gaining the way down the field.

2 huge mistakes really has this thing where it is, Carson missed Agholor on one that would have been at least 3 points, and Alshon Jeffrey’s hold turned a first one goal from the 5~ into a 1st and 9 we didn’t convert.

    • Donald Kalinowski

But batting for homeruns every play can get you in a big hole fast. We’re only 7 points down.

  • kajomo

This would be a much different game if not for that garbage PI call.

    • SteveH

Yeah that too, that was bullshit. But we need to be able to overcome one bad call.

      • kajomo

My point is that this is likely a 3pt game or tied if not for that call despite how poor we have played

        • SteveH

Of course, but we can’t count on the refs not blowing a call. We need to take control of things that we can control.

          • kajomo

We just need to open things up a bit.

          • RC5000

The NFL wants Seattle in the playoffs.

    • sonofdman

      That was really inexplicable

  • daveH

    Carson looks foggy

  • Someguy77

Eagles need to literally take some bong hits at half time and relax.

  • SteveH

Guys I’m wearing a new Eagles shirt today, I’m going to switch back to something more familiar.

    • A_T_G

Good call. I’ll go back to a more familiar beer.

    • ChoTime

Wait you’re not wearing the lucky jersey you wore for all our wins?

      • SteveH

It would be like 5 different lucky shirts at this one. I’m going to put the Dawkins jersey on. That’s for the biggest games.

    • GENETiC-FREAK

      No shirt lol

    • daveH

Which one did you get ? I spent a few hours getting some for xmas .. got my bud a Dawkins, wife a Wentz and i got a Bradham #53 tshirt for 51 bucks

  • xeynon

I’m not too worried at this point. We looked much worse in the first half of the Dallas game.

Still, they need to come out and assert themselves on the opening drive of the second half. Can’t play not to lose forever.

    • SteveH

Yeah I just want us to get aggressive, if the Seahawks only put up 20 there’s no reason we shouldn’t win the game.

    • Insomniac

The fact that we can’t play all 4 quarters are bothering me.

      • xeynon

No team is dominant in every quarter of every game.

        • Insomniac

I want 3 quarters at least.

          • CrackSammich

            I want a pony.

          • Insomniac

You can have one when trickle-down economy finally happens in 2058.

          • Someguy77

Don’t piss on my head and just tell me it is raining

          • Someguy77

You’ll get nothing and like it!

  • Ark87

What sucks is the Seahawks get better as the game goes along, time to find out if this team has the fight in them that they need. Can you put away the dances and hit as hard as a team that feels disrespected? Can you chase Wilson for 4 quarters or are you going going to get tired and quit? Going to be a hell of a fight if the Eagles decide they want to win this

  • Someguy77

This is the kind of game where they really miss Sproles on punt returns and big play ability on short passing plays.

    • xeynon

The lack of explosiveness in the return game is an under-the-radar weakness for this team as of right now.

Barner is sure-handed but I basically know there’s no reason not to go get a sandwich during an Eagles punt return because he’s never going to break one the way Sproles can.

      • daveH

Thought he is Ok and pretty surehanded, just get robbed by 2 penalties

    • daveH

Clements is the type of dude who can & will step up !! And fortunately i don’t think he will be alone in doing so

  • Dragon_Eagle

We’re moving the ball, just not finishing. Defense is playing well.

Just they somehow seem to be playing without the usual confidence. Wentz in particular. Doug’s play calling, too.

Is it the crowd noise making a difference?

    • Sb2bowl

      Big stage. Young team.

Once you see Wentz smile, we will win. He needs to relax and play his game

    • Dragon_Eagle

And by they, I mean offense.

  • Sb2bowl

Just have to start making plays, those wham/trap blocks don’t seem to be working. Gonna have to pound them between the tackles.

  • ChoTime

I’ve ridden that ferris wheel several times. I do love that city.

  • Masked Man

7 points is not bad a this point. We get the ball again next. Adjustment time!

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Have to man. Playing like they dont want to lose.

    • SteveH

It’s about the score and more about how we’ve looked doing it. Too conservative, too tight.

  • ChoTime

the problem is, Wentz keeps getting called Your Highness by random people by mistake. Never crown their ass prematurely.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Good thing we are a second half team
    Bad thing, so are they

    • Insomniac

Just need some picks or a very very good clean hard hit on Wilson.

  • DarthBanner

Dougie and the Eagles better pull it together, or they could find themselves 3rd in the NFC by the end of next week.

    • xeynon

      Relax.

      • DarthBanner

I’m perfectly relaxed. I wish the eagles would relax and start playing to win instead of not to lose.

        • xeynon

So do I. I have confidence in them, they’ve shown the ability to adjust this season.

  • sonofdman

    Good start

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Here we go.

  • sonofdman

    Going no-huddle

  • Allen3000

    Errrrrtz

  • CrackSammich

Look at what happens when we throw to our best receivers. Who’d have thought.

  • scratcherk

was hoping we’d come out no huddle

  • xeynon

I like the move to go no huddle here.

  • scratcherk

    big boy catch

  • Insomniac

    Unleash the Mack Truck already

  • Sb2bowl

Gonna watch the game with you guys this evening. Was over at Kempski’s place but it was bad ju-ju

  • Someguy77

    Nice grab Jeffrey

  • shah8

    Muuuuuuuccch better…

  • ChoTime

    AJ snagged the high ball!

  • xeynon

Gotta block Wagner if you’re going to run the ball on this team.

  • CrackSammich

ugghhhh that screen was set up so fucking well

  • CTbirdsguy

Agholar looking like he has a lottttt of room in the slot there. Been waiting for a slant

  • ChoTime

This Seattle DL is handling us.

  • scratcherk

    GO FOR IT

  • Sb2bowl

Missed two big plays so far. Gotta connect on something

  • Dragon_Eagle

You go for that, Doug. No more bullshit.

  • Someguy77

Wentz still has poor touch on those short dump passes.

  • CrackSammich

    Terrible spot.

  • Insomniac

    Oooooooof

  • scratcherk

    terribel spot.

  • Sb2bowl

    That’s a first

  • xeynon

Should consider challenging if we’re short. Looked like Smith caught that beyond the marker.

    • TXEaglesFan

I don’t know too hard to overturn

    • FairOaks

and we do, in the end.

Probably was a first down but we need a definitive angle and not sure we do

      • xeynon

I think you take the chance. The sneak on 4th down is a high percentage play but no reason to take the risk if you don’t have to.

      • FairOaks

Ooh, that angle was pretty good

  • CrackSammich

    No, no. punt it Dug

  • DarthBanner

The ref who spotted the ball was 4 yards behind the play. Terrible positioning.

  • Someguy77

    Horrible spot

  • scratcherk

    atta boy dough

  • SteveH

Good challenge, that’s clearly first down.

  • scratcherk

    FIRST DOWN

  • Dragon_Eagle

OK. That camera angle showed 1st down.

  • meteorologist

Wow thought it was a bad challenge. May have to eat crow

    • xeynon

I think it was a worth a shot. Process > results.

  • SteveH

Where was this Wentz in the first half. Medium length throws are where he lives.

  • SteveH

    NO WAY

  • DarthBanner

    Hogwash

    • shah8

      ball position challenges are foolhardy.

      • DarthBanner

Usually. Except when the replay clearly shows first down….

        • shah8

That’s why they’re foolhardy. Standard of evidence is far too high.

  • A_T_G

    Wth?

    • FairOaks

Determining where the first contact happened can be tough. They are calling “stands” more than ever if they are not 100% sure.

However, the Eagles may well have been about to call a timeout anyways, so worth the shot in that case.

  • scratcherk

    BUll

  • Checkdown Charlie

    F U Ref

  • scratcherk

add these mofos to the morelli treatment

  • Allen3000

Unreal. Even Pete Carroll was shocked.

  • TXEaglesFan

They almost never overturn those spot challenges

    • Allen3000

Yeah, that was my fear. Still was a terrible spot.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    oh wow

  • RC5000

They want Seattle in the playoffs.

  • scratcherk

    12/12

  • meteorologist

    Now we’re crankin

  • Insomniac

    table has been flipped

  • scratcherk

    EARN THAT MONEY

  • Sb2bowl

    Money man. Get it

  • xeynon

Looks like Wentz put his big boy pants back on at halftime. Several big time throws on this drive.

  • A_T_G

It looks like the swagger is back.

  • SteveH

Blount is ineffective tonight, get the other guys going.

  • ChoTime

I’m starting to get a little tight now. It’s like a real football game and everything!

    • Sb2bowl

      I’ll loosen you up.

      • bobeph

        stick him in the rear

  • Crus57

Blount is stopping when he gets to the line, expecting there to be no hole.

  • shah8

This playcalling is what I was expecting from the start…

  • CrackSammich

    my god.

  • RC5000

Stop with these Reid play calls.

  • scratcherk

    wtf.

  • TXEaglesFan

    He was down

    • FairOaks

      don’t think so

    • TXEaglesFan

      I hope

    • RC5000

      no

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Didn’t look like it.

    • xeynon

      It will automatically be reviewed.

    • scratcherk

      unfort not.

    • bobeph

      no he wasnt idiot

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Damn

  • A_T_G

    Shit.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    That sucks

  • scratcherk

why didnt that player try to get the ball

    • CrackSammich

      Torrey.

  • DarthBanner

Whelp. Really trying to blow this one.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Fark

  • shah8

    OH MY GOD

  • SteveH

    FUUUUUUUUUUCK

  • A_T_G

    Was he down? Maybe? Please?

    • Sb2bowl

      No

    • Masked Man

Ball got stripped. Don’t know if he was down first.

    • RC5000

no. don’t think elbow was down.

  • SteveH

    FUCK. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

  • ChoTime

    awwwwww s………….t

  • Tdoteaglefan

    Holy faack thats frustrating

  • Ark87

That’s the kind of game it is, Unless Seattle starts making big mistakes, it’s not looking good, can’t have those

  • Insomniac

Ball went out of the RZ before anyone even grabbed it????? Am I missing something.

  • xeynon

Very frustrating, but we moved the ball at will on that drive. They need to bottle that and come right back.

  • SteveH

At least we looked good on that Drive, Wentz looked so much better throwing the ball. HOLD THEM DEFENSE.

  • ChoTime

Okay, just one of those days. Tough team. Win or lose, it’s a learning experience.

    • Ark87

That’s the terrifying thing about football, sometimes it doesn’t bounce your way, and against a good team, it’s what makes the playoffs so scary

  • Dragon_Eagle

Moving the ball well. Need to frickin’ finish.

Jimbo, get us the ball back forthwith, please.

  • Masked Man

    Game is far from over.

  • CrackSammich

Don’t show us a replay. More commercials please. Then blame it on the black people for ratings.

    • bobeph

you stupid racebaiter, you’re family picks tobacco

      • CTbirdsguy

Don’t bring that shit in here

        • bobeph

          eat it, buttface

  • Someguy77

Need a turnover from the defense here.

  • daveH

Is it to much to wish Torrey Smith to recover that. …

    • TXEaglesFan

He could have jumped for it

    • DarthBanner

Or at least try to recover it.

  • xeynon

Need the D to man up and get the ball back here.

  • Ark87

I need to start seeing some nasty hits

  • Someguy77

Wilson is so much smoother on those throws to Receivers in the flat

    • xeynon

Than Wentz? That’s the different between a 6th year veteran and a guy making his 28th career start.

  • xeynon

    Killer penalties.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Faaark

  • scratcherk

    fuck these refs

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Gotta contain Wilson

  • DarthBanner

Just not playing good aggresive smart footballl tonight.

  • CrackSammich

    grounding?

  • FairOaks

That’s the worst part of Wilson keeping the plays alive for so long. Just waits for a penalty.

    • xeynon

I don’t understand why everyone’s talking about the MVP as if it’s a two man race between Wentz and Brady. Wilson should definitely be in the conversation as well.

      • FairOaks

He is, unless they miss the playoffs. So is Brees. Seattle has more losses though, and that can enter into it. As can the “most important player to his team” vs “best player” voters. They would be a terrible team without him.

  • CrackSammich

These lack of replays are really starting to get me angry.

  • TXEaglesFan

They need a russel Wilson grounding rule. That shit makes for bad football

  • Someguy77

Another stupid penalty on 3rd down

  • scratcherk

    hold on OL

  • scratcherk

    GET TEH FUCK OUT

  • SteveH

STOP HOLDING, STOP HOLDING, STOP HOLDING, STOP HOLDING

    YOU STUPID FUCKS

    • ChoTime

      and give up tds?

  • FairOaks

Looked bad, but wasn’t much of a hold. The feet got tangled at the same time.

  • Allen3000

How about the hold on Beau Allen???

  • CrackSammich

Thought there was no interference when the QB is outside the pocket.

    • scratcherk

can still be holding but apparently u can deck someone ala sherman

  • ChoTime

Wilson is this D’s kryptonite because of that damn scrambling.

  • DarthBanner

    Giving the game away

  • Someguy77

Wilson’s ability to scramble and keep plays alive is exposing this secodaty

    • CrackSammich

      It exposes every secondary.

    • xeynon

Wilson can expose anybody. He’s a great QB.

    • kajomo

The poor officiating is exposing the secobdary

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Yip they way he can drift back n still flick it is annoying

    • Dragon_Eagle

He will do that to the best secondaries. They need to learn to play disciplined.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    another slip

  • xeynon

    BS. That was uncatchable.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Another flag!

  • scratcherk

    are u fucking kidding

  • SteveH

Oh my god. OH MY GOD. STOP FOULING YOU FUCKING IDIOTS.

  • TXEaglesFan

    Fuck these back judges

  • Allen3000

    That wasn’t remotely catchable

  • Ark87

    so pissed, this is unbelievable

  • Checkdown Charlie

    lucky

  • CrackSammich

Lol, and of all the penalties to miss, that facemask is blatant.

  • ChoTime

the refs have practiced throwin the flag so much it’s a reflex now

  • Dragon_Eagle

The most egregious of fouls doesn’t get called.

  • A_T_G

Crowd complaining about the refs? Hmmm…

  • xeynon

Glad the refs missed one in our favor there.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Man i hate the Seahawks! lol

  • CrackSammich

WHATS WRONG, CANT MOVE THE BALL WHEN THERES NO PENALTIES?FUCK

  • SteveH

    This defense, STOP FUCKING FOULING.

  • xeynon

“Downsizing” looks to have the stupidest premise for a movie I’ve seen in at least a decade.

    • DarthBanner

Its right up there with tonight’s offensive gameplan for stupidity.

      • scratcherk

tho they got it going in the second half except for that fumble

      • xeynon

They moved the ball nicely on that drive.. Wentz missed a wide open possible TD throw and fumbled on the goal line. Doug didn’t draw either of those things up.

        • A Roy

Don’t waste your time with trolls.

          • DarthBanner

            Sheep says what?

          • A Roy

I really love seeing “this user is blocked”

        • DarthBanner

Gameplan is not to lose. Where is the trademark aggression? Where are the gutsy playcalls? This is crap doug from last year.

    • ChoTime

Yeah, physically shrinking them is stupid. Transferring their consciousness to computers would be more reasonable.

    • Someguy77

Damon has made a lot of terrible/bad movies the past 5 years

      • xeynon

        “The Martian” was good.

  • Someguy77

Refs haven’t been that bad although the Seahawks OL is grabbing and pushing from the back a lot

    • kajomo

Except they have them their only TD. Also the graham penalty was BS

    • RC5000

      Tony Corrente sucks.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Faaaark

  • xeynon

    Fuck. Schwartz got pantsed there.

  • DarthBanner

I guess Doug’s plan of winning 3-0 is really out the wndow.

  • shah8

    dropped jaw.

  • scratcherk

    he was out

  • Ark87

    Wilson never missed those, unbelieveable

  • Insomniac

Is this what losing feels like?

    • scratcherk

      dont like it

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Out

  • CTbirdsguy

I was thinking about extra pressure but house/cover zero….sheesh im not surprised with that outcome

  • shah8

No more Andy Shit anymore (overcreativity), Doug. Wentz gotta pass for real, now.

  • xeynon

Sell out blitz there was a dumb call.

    • Someguy77

Really dumb for an all out blitz

      • xeynon

When does that ever work against a really good QB? This isn’t Mitch Trubisky we’re playing against here.

  • Someguy77

Strange to blitz there given how much pressure they have generated with front 4 this drive and 10 yards to go

  • DarthBanner

I wonder if Doug will blow the rams game too and take us out of bye week position.

  • CrackSammich

Can’t believe he was even close to hitting a receiver on that one.

  • ChoTime

someone explain why they don’t have dedicated end zone and sideline cameras?

    • Insomniac

There is one in the pylon right?

  • teltschikfakeout88

    DL cannot get to Wilson

  • CrackSammich

    OHHHHHh

  • Insomniac

    All I want is a pick 6

  • scratcherk

    wow.

  • Ark87

Doug called the first half like he was guaranteed to win as long as he didn’t do anything too risky. That doesn’t work against other good teams

    • DarthBanner

Its why I fear the eagles could be a one and done team. Doug.

  • A_T_G

    Vicious.

  • scratcherk

    wtf,

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Fark man i hate how he just drifts back n flicks pass.

  • Someguy77

    Rejected

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Chuck and duck and completion

  • scratcherk

14 point swing on that fumble

    • xeynon

It’s a killer. Hopefully they learn a lesson from this loss – you can’t get sloppy against a good team.

      • DarthBanner

Or design the gameplan around simply showing up.

        • xeynon

          Just stop.

          • DarthBanner

Why? Its true. Eagles clearly approached this game like simply showing up was enough. That starts at the top.

          • Spooonius

Based on what? Do you have some info we don’t?

          • DarthBanner

Based on the checkdown offense, the complete lack of gutsy playcalling and a sudden fear to go for it on 4th.

          • A Roy

All I see is “This user is blocked” Don’t let him troll you.

          • Spooonius

            Thanks for the heads up.

          • A Roy

Enough block him as Darth Banner and subsequent names, and he may go back under the bridge.

  • Someguy77

    Wilson has been money tonight

  • Insomniac

    ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • TXEaglesFan

Seatle OL learned from their secondary. Just hold every play and dare the refs to call it.

  • bobeph

hunnit million dollars for social justice for blacks, smh, nfl is racist

  • CTbirdsguy

“run backwards and chuck the ball up”. I can’t stand playing the Seahawks

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Gotta get some TDs now. Start attacking their CBs. Its Maxwell ffs

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Garbage

  • RobNE

Wentz missed Ags early for Td and fumbled on the half yard line. Can’t beat good teams that way.

  • A_T_G

    Russel is frustrating.

    • meteorologist

      He’s magic

      • meteorologist

        It’s amazing

    • Ark87

Yep, 3 guys chasing him every play, never gets intentional grounding, seems to always find a PI or Defensive hold or a guy wide open in the 2 cases at the end of that drive

  • Someguy77

Traffic had nothing to do with it. Mills was 7-8 steps behind him. Too slow to play CB

    • kajomo

Yeah no you’re wrong. He’s been a CB for 10 wins this season. They are simply using our aggressiveness against us

      • Someguy77

He is and this incredible pass rush has covered up for it almost all year

        • kajomo

          Nope you’re still wrong

          • Someguy77

He can’t play outside and I’ll stand by that. You put him on a team with a mediocre to weak pass rush and he gets eaten alive.

  • xeynon

    This looks like a loss.

Hopefully, the team learns a lesson about what’s necessary to compete on the big stage and comes out focused and ready to play against the Rams next week.

  • meteorologist

Saw someone post on Twitter how our plan is to shut down the run and force teams to beat us one dimensionally. But the Seahawks are already used to playing that way so it could be closer than expected

    • xeynon

They also have possibly the perfect player to defeat that approach in Wilson.

      • meteorologist

        Exactly

  • Spooonius

I still expect a win. Lots of time left.

  • Howie Littlefinger

I look forward to this shit all week. Beating ourselves is such a giants thing to do.

  • scratcherk

    another missed td

  • CrackSammich

That should have been a fucking touchdown…

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Oh man if that pass lead him

  • RC5000

Carson is a little off on some throws.

    • ChoTime

he’s had several misses and off target ctches today

  • xeynon

Man if Wentz leads Agholor on that it’s possibly a TD.

    • Allen3000

      Yep, another easy TD missed.

  • DarthBanner

Hey Carson, try hitting guys in stride.

  • teltschikfakeout88

The game so far is Wilson is making clutch plays….Wentz isn’t… in fact…Wilson is covering up his OL with the ability to reverse field and get more time for his WR to get a hold or just find someone…very frustrating to
    see…

    • xeynon

Wilson is a battle-tested QB, our guy is still learning.

  • shah8

REally could have been a better pass…

    • RobNE

      Where u been?

  • shah8

    Baby poo pass defense, now…

    • shah8

      or maybe not.

  • Insomniac

    Save us Ags

  • xeynon

I think you’ve got to go for it here. A FG doesn’t help much.

    • scratcherk

      too early, take teh points

      • xeynon

They’re down two scores either way, and Seattle moved the ball on us on that last series.

    • DarthBanner

Its not in Doug’s gameplan. Surprised he didn’t kick the fied goal on third down. Apparently his balls don’t travel to the west coast.

      • xeynon

I am THIS CLOSE to blocking you dude.

  • CrackSammich

Okay. might be time for me to turn this game off

  • Allen3000

How is that not hands to the face?

  • ConcussedFB

That wasn’t a hold on Ertz? Seriously asking.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      It was

    • Ark87

it was all before 5, generally both sides get away with a lot

    • RC5000

It was borderline. They say it needs to be aggregious within 5 yards.

  • meteorologist

Wilson may be the MVP. People are afraid of facing a hot Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. Well we are getting a taste of what it might be like today

    • CTbirdsguy

Yeah I gotta say, Wilson wouldn’t miss these throws Wentz is. He’s clearly better right now

    • Someguy77

His touch passes have been really impressive. Wentz lack of accuracy has been a bit glaring on the short and long routes tonight

    • xeynon

Wilson is great. I don’t fear playing Ryan, Keenum, or Goff in the playoffs, but Rodgers and Wilson, yes.

  • TXEaglesFan

Looks like a possible concussion there

  • Someguy77

Ertz has played poorly tonight especially as a blocker. Losing him makes this passing game too one day dimensional

  • ChoTime

Wow, this a Dak Prescott playing the Eagles kind of game. jk 🙂

    • meteorologist

I was just thinking “well this isn’t Dak Prescott bad but it’s still bad”

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Faaark man!!!!!

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Oh well

  • scratcherk

    take the points.

  • RC5000

Carson needed to recognize that faster.

  • Spooonius

Wish we had gone for on those 2 4th downs in the 1st half.

    • DarthBanner

Yup. Not sure why the team decided to play the opposite of its identity which had gotten the team to this point.

      • anon

Playing not to lose instead of playing to win, now we’re pressing

        • DarthBanner

That’s what I’ve been saying. Unfortunately the sheep can’t handle it, so its a cursing block fest.

    • RC5000

The last one there wasn’t much time left.

  • DarthBanner

Doug is awful tonight. Wentz isn’t much better.

    • jmh

      Fuck you

      • DarthBanner

Not really my type. I prefer free thinkers as opposed to sheep who can’t handle facts.

    • xeynon

That’s it, I’m done with you. You add nothing intelligent or worth reading to the conversation. Blocked.

      • DarthBanner

Sorry you can’t handle the eagles not playing well. You should work on that. Its only football.

  • teltschikfakeout88

Also where was the hold on McDougle covering ertz

  • GENETiC-FREAK

You saw the stack on the right should have hit the hot read RB straight away instead of looking deep. Was only 3 yards for 1st didnt need to go for chunk play

  • Ark87

uhg, defense needs to make a play or it’s over

  • shah8

    That’s game.

  • Tdoteaglefan

Should’ve just kicked a fg..but ah well, we’re down 14 on the road in the redzone..so im not too mad at the call

  • This game’s over. Ertz face expression and Wentz not paying attention that he should start calling play. Just little things, but you know they’re absolutely off this game. But good moment to loose a game and wake up. Their were distracted even in Bears game. We deserved this

  • anon

Frankly best thing that could happen is to come to Seattle and get stomped. Too many super bowl whispers

    • meteorologist

04 birds got stomped by the Steelers, though for a different reason (manhandled up front)

    • xeynon

I wouldn’t go that far, but I do think there’s a potential silver lining if losing this game makes them stop smelling themselves.

    • shah8

Dunno, sometimes a loss is just a loss. Super bowl whispers is because Eagles are still the most balanced team in the NFC. This is not a normal performance by the Seahawks O. And if the Vikings keep with Keenum, they are very beatable…

      • xeynon

We’ll be right in it. I do however think there is something to young teams getting a bit too full of themselves.

  • Spooonius

If they can find a way to get Seattle off the field. Maybe just eliminating penalties.

    • kajomo

The penalties are the story of the game. RW has hit 2-3 plays but this has hardly been the elite performance everyone is making it out to be. He has more 1st downs on penalties than actual legal plays

    • RC5000

Well earlier refs were making iffy calls.

    • Spooonius

True, but punting seemed out of character for this team. It seemed too safe

  • Howie Littlefinger

Why the fuck was Barner in?

    • Dragon_Eagle

Can’t put it on him. Wentz missed.

      • Howie Littlefinger

Yea I agree he missed but WHY BARNER?

of all the guys who might make a play on it he would be who I trust the least

    • RC5000

He’d have scored possibly. Wentz didn’t recognize the pass rush early enough.

  • A_T_G

Defense needs to make something happen.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Nice play Kendricks

  • Tdoteaglefan

Nice open field tackle by kendricks

  • Allen3000

That was a great open field tackle by Kendrick’s.

  • CrackSammich

BG blew Tobin up, doesn’t make the tackle.

  • xeynon

WTF… Seattle’s RBs are supposed to suck.

  • teltschikfakeout88

This looks like a loss and ertz is in the tent

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Cmon boys pick it up.

  • Allen3000

    Okay, that’s lazy defense

  • GENETiC-FREAK

DL getting bounced off now. Gotta keep confidence high

  • Insomniac

Oh god just let it end

  • Spooonius

If this were a basketball game I’d be screaming for a timeout

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Getting bitch slapped now

    • Spooonius

      Yeesh

  • meteorologist
    • RC5000

Carson just isn’t aware tonight. Barner makes a big play if Carson moves earlier.

  • Someguy77

Cmon it’s Mike David. Diving and whiffing on tackles first time all year

  • kajomo

Even though speed doesn’t prevent him from being a good Cb Mills has been awful today. Always out of position

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Turn your head, P. Rob.!!!

  • DJH

Eagles have left about 21 pts on the field tonite. Blount on 1 yard line, Wentz fumble on 1 yard line, and multiple poor throws to Agholor. Obviously can’t do that shit in the road against a team like Seattle.

Defense keeping us in this (as will be the case if we go into playoffs).

    • xeynon

Yup. They have been sloppy in previous games (San Fran, Dallas, Chicago) and gotten away with it because of inferior opposition. They were never going to win the Super Bowl playing that way, so hopefully this gets them to tighten up.

  • CrackSammich

    Oh, he’s fucked up.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

How the fuck is that not intentional or lateral

  • scratcherk

    IG and russell killed

  • meteorologist

Man that guy has a cannon. How did he launch it that far

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Like i said the way he drifts back the pass rush cant get there but he got the power to just flick downtown like Vick

  • Spooonius

I think it knocked them out of ffg range

  • Someguy77

First time all year Robinson is getting beat a lot by the slot WR.

  • A_T_G

Collinsworth doesn’t know where the sternum is located, apparently.

  • meteorologist

Think the first man down for the Seahawks is trained to give a bump as they go by the fair catch

    • daveH

YES !!!# 2nd time it has happened !! Wtf!

  • Ark87

that hit is everything I needed, I might be able to sleep tonight

  • Spooonius

Got em off the field. Now wake the F up Carson!

  • FairOaks

That was close to a backward throw. Wonder if that would negate the intentional grounding (though by definition, if it goes out of bounds, would still be worse than taking the sack).

  • ChoTime

    wooo hoo sack sort of!

    • daveH

Gooooood hard hit .. well deserved.

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Need a spark

  • GENETiC-FREAK

1 TD n we back in it!

  • shah8

Alright, let’s see if a miracle comeback happens!

  • CrackSammich

That sack/IG maintains a bit of hope here. Not quite dead.

  • daveH

Love love love to finally see him take a week deserved hard hit.

  • Spooonius

Did ajayi just run right by a huge hole?

    • meteorologist

Massive. Vision is a concern with him

      • Spooonius

        Jeez.

  • scratcherk

    sigh.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Cmon man!!!

  • CrackSammich

    WOOOO COMMERICALS I LOVE FOOTBALL

  • A_T_G

    Wentz looked unhappy with Ajayi.

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Yeah they had the blocking to the left Ajayi didnt block

  • Someguy77

Those stretch plays off tackle are puzzling against this defense. Plays right their strength.

    • DarthBanner

The whole gameplan/playcalling has been puzzling tonight. Its almost as if the Eagles are trying to play to the seahawks strengths while avoiding the seahawk weaknesses all while playing with the opposite of the aggression that got them to 10 wins.

    • RC5000

Don’t get it. Like that long pitch early in the game too. Seattle moves well on D.

  • DarthBanner

The rams might kill this team.

    • Dragon_Eagle

Nah. They do not have Russell Wilson.

    • RC5000

They aren’t as tough as Seattle at home. We can beat them.

  • Ark87

I swear to god Wentz looked at Jay, and pointed at that dude like, block his ass, smh

  • Howie Littlefinger

This is a team that is never out. I hope they can prove that here by getting a W

    and eating it?

  • xeynon

Seattle is still a really rough place to play, particularly if you fall behind.

  • ChoTime

that madden 18 commercial is a bit over intense

  • CrackSammich

    RUSSELL WENTZ

  • meteorologist

    Holy wtf

  • sonofdman

    Wow

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Niiiice! No flag too woohoo

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Ok. That deserved a wow.

  • scratcherk

    WHAT .

  • Tdoteaglefan

    Holy shit!!!!!!

  • Howie Littlefinger

Clement should be it on 3rd down from here on out. I feel like its more obvious than the “Wiz/Warmack” debacle

    • Spooonius

I might make 100 fake accounts to upvote this

  • A_T_G

There is the absurdly good play. Maybe it sparks them.

  • Spooonius

I was about to have a cow, and the ball just kept going…

    • Ark87

there is no way that throw went that far, what kind of cheating is this!?

      • Spooonius

He’s a bad man. And Ags has his back.

  • Someguy77

    THAT WAS ALL Wentz

  • CrackSammich

How do you not block 3 guys with 6.

  • ChoTime

    aggs! wentz!

  • xeynon

See that throw right there is why I’m not sweating this loss.

Wentz is still young and will make mistakes. But the dude is an absolute stud and can make plays only 2 or 3 other guys in the league can.

We shouldn’t lose sight of the big picture here.

    • shah8

He’s made plays like that from day one. It’s other stuff he has to work on.

      • shah8

And the TD throw is sort of more impressive, actually.

        • xeynon

          They were both great plays.

      • xeynon

He has, but in the heat of the moment people tend to lose sight of the fact that he’s still only 24 and expect him to play like a veteran. We should be pretty psyched because he’s one of the best 24 year old QBs I’ve ever seen.

        • shah8

One of the biggest issue with drafting him so high was that he’d be such an old rookie.

          • xeynon

I’m not seeing that as a big issue. QB is one of the few positions where guys play into their mid 30s at a high level and 23 is hardly ancient for a rookie.

  • teltschikfakeout88

Seattle is making too many clutch plays…nobody CB getting a sack to make it 3rd and long…

  • scratcherk

    wentz making bad reads tonight.

    • Spooonius

      He’s off.

  • meteorologist

That’s the Wentz I know. Just when ur down deliver a haymaker

  • RC5000

    Dumb throw & route.

    • Insomniac

      Yupppppppp

  • GENETiC-FREAK

That looked to close throwing to Ajayi

  • xeynon

    No horse collar tackle there?

  • Ark87

thought we agreed to take that out of the playbook doug

  • bobeph

playcalling is the worst sense buddy ryan

  • CrackSammich

wtf. these last two plays are garbage. rip them out. burn them. fire whoever suggested them.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    We are behind Pederson

  • CTbirdsguy

Why is bobby Wagner so good holy shit.

  • shah8

    Bobby Wagner, man.

  • scratcherk

    pretty sure wagner is roiding.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    There you go!

  • meteorologist

    OMG

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Get points here

  • scratcherk

    AGS

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Thats the Maxwell we know!

  • Checkdown Charlie

    No flag?

  • RC5000

    sweet throw!

  • sonofdman

Agholar came to play at least!

  • scratcherk

of course, ags is the hero of the night.

  • DarthBanner

    There you go Carson.

  • Insomniac

    Aggggggggs

  • ChoTime

    seattle really isn’t a joke.

    • meteorologist

      Wagner and Wilson show

  • A_T_G

That’s the look I remember from Maxwell. Confused expression, hands on hips.

    • sonofdman

Did he throw his hands up while looking at the safety?

    • Spooonius

      Yes, it does look familiar

  • RC5000

    Two great passes!

  • Spooonius

WORD!!!!!! It ain’t over yet!!!!! Now come on D!!!!!

  • Dragon_Eagle

Agholor is making up for last year and then some. Keep it up, Nelson.

  • shah8

Now, the D has to do their job.

  • Masked Man

Let’s not forget that Carson Wentz was the comeback kid throughout his NDSU career.

    • RC5000

And he often did it after making big mistakes like that fumble .

  • scratcherk

    COME ON DDDDD

  • ChoTime

    yeee haaa

  • CrackSammich

I can’t believe we’re only down by 7. This feels like we should be down by 30.

    • bobeph

      i hate you

    • oreofestar

Idk feels the opposite to me we could easily be leading

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Lets go D get the punt

  • meteorologist

He’s killing me in fantasy but go AGS. Have yourself a day

  • daveH

    Subic AGGGGGGGGGGVGGGGGGGSSSSSSS

  • Masked Man

Now is the time when the defense needs to step up!

  • anon

Ags must have gone to an excorcist in the off season, it’s like who is this guy. Think he’s better than Jeffrey

    • Insomniac

Alshon needed those PEDs more than it needed him.

  • meteorologist
  • SteveH

    DEFENSE! DEFENSE! DEFENSE!

  • laeagle

    DAK FUCKING WHO?

  • Ark87

lets go D! Put another hit on Wilson, kick the life out of them

  • meteorologist
    • shah8

      yup

    • Insomniac

Can confirm, was already slowly killing myself.

    • FairOaks

Yeah, the game plan was frustrating. But the execution has been off a bit too. Some of that should have worked better.

    • RC5000

I didn’t understand it either. After Carson missed that open Ags, it’s like Doug got scared.

    • Ark87

incredible you have 3 QB’s on the coaching staff and they weren’t licking their chops making the game plan. They planned in fear of the pass rush.

  • SteveH

    DEFENSE, DEFENSE MOTHERFUCKING DEFENSE

  • ChoTime

wow, the verizon guy totally sold them out.

    • xeynon

Think they decided not to renew his contract, Sprint made him an offer, and he decided to take it.

Can’t blame a no name actor for taking the checks where he can get them.

  • CrackSammich

Ags is 6 for 131 and a TD.

  • meteorologist

If we win this game …

  • SeanofDead

That’s a new career high single game rec yards for Agholor

  • A Roy

Agholor 6/131/1. So far. Too bad we can’t face Maxwell more often.

  • scratcherk

    ugh russell…

  • teltschikfakeout88

Daauyyummmm… two clutch 3rd down plays… someone figured out maxwell
Is the guy we need to pick on

    • scratcherk

      howie.

  • Insomniac

Pick six and another strike to Ags.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Just get a stop.

  • CrackSammich

Using Kendricks’ newfound patience against him.

  • scratcherk

mills getting juked quite a bit today

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Stop here

    • FairOaks

Ugh. Pick play and got Eagles defenders to hit each other.

  • CrackSammich

    Nice pick play, Robinson.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Mills slow feet on the cuts

  • Insomniac

    ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Wentz is smiling.

  • RC5000

CW 21-29 , 249 yards. 109.7 rating. Did have the bad fumble. RW 111.9 RTG.

  • xeynon

    Jesus Wilson is unreal.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Man hes annoying Russell.

  • scratcherk

    dude is fucking jello.

    • scratcherk

      or a greased pig

    • FairOaks

Dude can run backwards and still make plays. Can’t think of any other QBs who can really do that.

      • shah8

In terms of running in circles, it’s really just Vick and Manziel, isn’t it? Short, really high agility, right?

        • CrackSammich

Winston is in that club, too. Doesn’t do it anywhere near as much though.

          • shah8

Yeah, I guess. But Winston has always been ridiculously, optimistically aggressive.

  • CrackSammich

that was a forward fucking pass

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Missed tackles!!!

  • scratcherk

    wtf.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Put your shoulder n wrap DL

  • scratcherk

    FORQARD

  • ChoTime

RW may not be the best QB in the game, but he plays it different than anyone else.

    • xeynon

He is one of the three best. I think it’s Brady, Rodgers, then him. Wentz still a notch below. Guys like Roethlisberger and Brees are no longer in that league.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Forward

  • scratcherk

    FORARD

  • Ark87

    fuck russel wilson

  • meteorologist

    WTF OBVIOUS CHALLENGE

  • scratcherk

    CHALLENGE THAT FUCKIGN SHIT DOUG

  • scratcherk

    YOUS TUPID MOFO

  • CrackSammich

HOW DO YOU NOT CHALLENGE THIS OH MY GOD WE DESERVE TO LOSE

    • xeynon

Wondering if they didn’t get the replay in time.

  • meteorologist

    ARE YOU KIDDING

  • FairOaks

Crap that was a forward pass. Quick snap avoided the challenge.

  • xeynon

Doug should have challenged, that was an illegal forward pass.

  • RC5000

    No challenge dammit!

  • TXEaglesFan

    Doug!!!

  • SteveH

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THATS A FORWARD PASS WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK

    • bobeph

i would fight you any day, any time

  • DarthBanner

So how do you not challenge that obvious illegal forward pass doug?

  • CrackSammich

and no hold called on curry.

  • SteveH

THAT WAS A FUCKING FORWARD PASS WHAT ARE YOU FU”CKING DOING FUKC FUKCqwe ;tn

  • RC5000

That lack of a challenge effed us.

  • TXEaglesFan

    Callback an effin hold

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Eagles need to play like how LSU play with their DEs. They contain then rush

  • scratcherk

thats just situational fucking coaching doug. you challenge that even if its close.

  • Insomniac

Table flipped for the 2nd time tonight. Luckily it’s some cheap Ikea table

  • shah8

    I wanna hear from Pereira!

  • SteveH

Doug lost the game. How did you not challenge that. That’s unbelievable.

    • xeynon

My guess is they didn’t get word down to him in time.

    • Insomniac

Even if the challenges were made, the team as a whole wasn’t ready for tonight.

  • DarthBanner

Still waiting on the doug aheep squad to come forward and tell me how its good coaching to not challenge that obvious forward pass.

  • SteveH

    Unreal. Just unreal.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Blown coverage.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Fk its over!

  • kajomo

These refs gave Seattle this game. At least 10 points Winn be directly from their fuck ups

    • kajomo

      MAKe that 14

  • SteveH

Unbelievable. Doug fucked us. Just unbelievable.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Too fucking easy

  • xeynon

That’s game. Defense let us down here.

    • DarthBanner

      Doug let us down.

    • GENETiC-FREAK

      Both

    • SteveH

Doug let us down. That is purely Doug’s fault for not challenging that. Unreal.

      • xeynon

Like I said, I expect he didn’t get word in time.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Seahawks were doing a little “home cooking” with the relay down from the booth.

        • DarthBanner

Of course, its never doug’s fault. I mean why test the banged up seattle secondary when you can run the ball right into their strengths.

      • A_T_G

Well it isn’t our fault. We switched shirts and beers, right?

        Right?

What shirt are you wearing, Steve? What shirt?

        • daveH

          What’s German been doing ???

      • ChoTime

To me, the pass looked lateral. Wasn’t it at least quite close?

        • daveH

Lateral at 20mph becomes a fwd pass … simple science

      • daveH

Is it too much to ask the refs to know that that play can’t Happen ..

  • RC5000

Gotta score & bring on jake the onside kick expert.

  • bobeph

    over, the nfl supports racism,

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Garbage

  • Crus57

Not a good time for 2016 Kendricks to reappear

    • xeynon

McKissic is a tough matchup for a linebacker.

  • Insomniac

    Yea it’s really game now.

  • ChoTime

Well, there was the adversity. Guess this team’s not perfect after all.

    • xeynon

Fans who thought they were invincible weren’t paying close attention.

This team is good, but it has flaws.

  • kajomo

    The Seahawks are such frauds.

  • DarthBanner

And this is why playoff success is something I’m not counting on. Doug is simply not that good a coach. Juat a terrible job all around this week.

    • bobeph

      you’re a meatstick

    • GENETiC-FREAK

One game man! If you can see whats wrong dont you think they coaches n players will see n learn.

      • A_T_G

        Not worth it, man.

      • DarthBanner

You mean like everybody and their mother thinking that the eagles would test the banged up seahawk secondary. Except Doug of course.

    • meteorologist

      Troll

      • DarthBanner

        Sheep.

  • teltschikfakeout88

Need to hold em to a fg

    • bobeph

what are you like 5 mins behind

  • Dragon_Eagle

This game was decided on about 3 or 4 key mistakes by the Eagles. Missed pass to Agholor; Wentz’s fumble; failing to challenge that lateral forward pass.

    • A Roy

Hopefully, it becomes learning experience and opportunity for growth.

    • xeynon

Yup. We can absolutely play with these guys, but we can’t afford not to play a mistake-free game, and we didn’t.

      • DarthBanner

Pederson can’t coach with Carroll though.

    • Someguy77

Yeah. Wilson has made a few big plays and Eagles havent

    • DarthBanner

Or doug’s refusal to test the seattle secondary until the 4th quarter down 2 touchdowns.

    • ChoTime

Not sure it’s significant, but we used to say that in a lot of Chip’s losses, too.

  • teltschikfakeout88

    So much for that…

    • bobeph

are you like 5 mins behind, I own this board

  • Howie Littlefinger

Lot of game left. These guys aren’t that good. See if we are good enough to steal one

    • TXEaglesFan

      I still believe

      • bobeph

        I believe I gotta poop

  • SteveH

Doug has lost a lot of good will tonight. That’s beyond the pale, not challenging that.

    • xeynon

Let’s wait until the postgame and see what he has to say about it.

    • Insomniac

      We’re 10-2, he’s not losing good will until we’re going 6-10 again.

      • DarthBanner

Or one early playoff loss with suspect coaching

  • Ark87

This is any given sunday on fucking crack between 2 good teams. The refs are blowing it, the coaches are blowing it. Fumbles going out of the endzone. The defense getting killed by pick plays every time its in man. Uhg

  • dandynator

to be real the refs fucked us alll night with these calls. we got robbed. the first down called short, this non call. they bailed them out at least 4-5 times on 3rd

    • bobeph

      wow, you’re dumb

      • daveH

        Me too

  • shah8

I think Dough thought they’d lose the challenge, in that the ball only was caught past where it was thrown, out of forward momentum.

    • RC5000

You gotta challenge that against Wilson the way he moves that team in 4th Q.

      • shah8

He also was Gollum about his TOs, too..

    • ChoTime

      I guess I don’t know wat a lateral actually is…

    • xeynon

Doesn’t matter, it’s still a forward pass. It’s not determined by whether the ball moves forward relative to the player who throws the lateral, it’s absolute position on the field.

  • RC5000

Of course we get the call when it doesn’t matter.

  • Someguy77

    I’d go no huddle

    • scratcherk

      they would too..

  • CrackSammich

    If we can score quick

  • Insomniac

Still don’t think Alshon deserves his contract to be honest.

    • meteorologist

I’ll give you this: almost certainly won’t be a steal

    • RC5000

Wentz has to get it to him on jump ball plays and they need to call slants for him. . He’s not a WR who gets separation so it’s on Wentz to find him.

      • Insomniac

He hasn’t been winning many jump balls either albeit Wentz seems to be afraid to throw jump balls.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Need this down right here

  • xeynon

That was a bad throw from Wentz.

    • CrackSammich

      was taking a hit.

  • Someguy77

Need better snaps. Too many low snaps

  • RC5000

    Couldn’t CW run there?

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Thats game

  • CrackSammich

    and there it goes.

  • DarthBanner

That loss is mostly on doug. Poor gameplan, poor playcalling, poor decision making, poor prepration. Gonna take way more than that if you want to beat good teams and go deep in the playoffs doug.

    • A_T_G

Out of curiosity, who do you feel is responsible for the 10 wins?

      • DarthBanner

A variety of people. What do the 10 wins have to do with tonight?

        • A_T_G

One of the teams we were watching has 10 wins this year. I assumed that was common knowledge. My bad.

      • laeagle

        Heaven forfend it be “Dug”

    • laeagle

      1. What was poor about gameplan, specifically? What did you think he didn’t do?

      2. What was poor about the play calling? What specifically didn’t work?

      3. Whose decision making?

      4. How is anything that happened tonight related to preparation?

This loss is mainly on execution. Sorry, but your comment is poor.

      • DarthBanner

        1. How do the Ealges come into this game and not attack the seahawks biggest weakness on defense; their secondary? Its known how beat up they are, yet Doug didn’t even bother testing them jntil the 4th quarter down 2 TDs. That is simply bad gameplanning.

        2. See 1. Furthermore, we ran a lot of toss plays that plays right into the strength of tbe seattle defense. It seemed as if Doug didn’t even k ow who the eagles were playing.

        3. Not going for it on 4th twice in the 1st half, despite that being the eagles identity all season. Not challenging the illegal forward pass on the drive that effectively ended the game. Going with barner, the 4th running back, when you do go for it on 4th down.

        4. When you don’t attack your opponent’s obvious weakness, and playvrightvinto their strengtha, how is that considered good preparation? Or being prepared at all?

Yes, the execution was poor, especially Doug’s.

        • laeagle

Nope. Everything you say is just a bunch of angry feces throwing. Sorry. There’s a lot to unpack about how frustrating this game was, but your criticisms are only vaguely and partially correct.

The players executed poorly, there were some poor decisions along the way, there was some shitty officiating, and overall, the team had a lot of things that were nearly there miss. You want to call that poor game planning, poor play calling, poor decision making, etc., you’re just making shit up. You wanted four points for your bullet list.

See, the frustrating thing right now is that I was REALLY liking the fact that this season, I didn’t have to listen to a bunch of idiot armchair quarterback criticism. I didn’t have to remember what sucks so much and so hard about Philly fans. It has nothing to do with Santa Claus. It’s the relentless and needless negativity. I’ve never understood it, and I f-ing hate it, and it was great to not have to see it. But of course, now the sky is falling and everyone who gets off on wallowing in garbage and shit will be flooding the airwaves again. Great.

Thanks for bringing things back to earth.

          • DarthBanner

Doug just coached hIs worst game of the season and it’s not even debatable. The irony is your inability to acknowledge what you just saw puts you at the same level of cluelessness you are trying to describe.

  • CTbirdsguy

If this was the first game I’d watched this season with no prior knowledge, I’d guess the Eagles were a middling team and I’d still wonder how the hell Russell Wilson does what he does.

    • RC5000

Wilson has always done this though.

  • meteorologist
    • Ryan Rambo

Uhhh idk….Rams don’t have Russell Wilson would be my first response.

      • meteorologist

He’s saying we’ll beat the Rams. The point was about the Seahawks

        • Ryan Rambo

My response was in reference to the tweet by CoupeDeChill.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Eagles need to stop playing like they dont want to lose in the first half. Gotta come out needing to win. Too much of a slow start will eventually cost us.

Needed to play contain more on Wilson think the run game wasnt an issue neither was getting into the backfield.

Quick footed WRs n slants are gonna expose the slow footed Mills.

  • kajomo

I can live with the loss. We know we could have easily won this game, but just about everything went against us. Penalties, missed open WRs, and that fucking forward pass lateral. What really hurts is we lose HFA most likely and I’m not sure we can win in Minnesota. If we lose next week we may lose first round bye

    • xeynon

Don’t overreact – the other teams still have tough games left.

Winning next week is critical though.

    • Spooonius

      It was really sloppy today.

  • teltschikfakeout88

    And that is the game

  • Someguy77

Wilson was great tonight. Wentz wasn’t and that was the difference

    • RC5000

Wentz did stuff though. He was 24-36 for 280 and 99.3 RTG . That’s on a bad night vs. semi tough D (had Chancellorr, Sherman out) in the loud house.

  • daveH

Ouch. Sick game by Mr Wilson… must’ve scrambled for almist 100 yards. Great athlete and a cool cat.
Take our lump and humility. .. and LEARN!!!!
    ..

    I LOVE THIS TEAM !!!!

    • Spooonius

      Bravo! Well said.

  • Ark87

moved the ball well enough tonight, basically lived on their half of the field, then disaster strikes and we come up empty over and over

  • Ark87

Great, Al is already leading how the Eagles got exposed and our tumble down the power ranking

    • Spooonius

Good. It’s better to be underestimated.

    • xeynon

That is 100% fine by me. I want them playing with a chip on their shoulders and coming back focused and determined.

      • Ark87

going to be a shitty week in the media. Mike Lombardi crowing loudly about how he was right about doug, get to here about not actually beating anyone good, and uuuhg

        • xeynon

Good week to tune out the media and focus on other things.

  • TXEaglesFan

    Timeout? Wtf?

  • meteorologist

It’s not like we can’t beat them. We just lost today.

Next time it would be different. Small turnover swing here, different calls by refs there, different fumble luck and the outcome changes. Or attack the secondary from the start.. there’s so many things where if you tweak it a bit the outcome is different.

We have held the MVP to 24 points

    • Someguy77

Yeah this wasnt a case of being overmatched.

  • CrackSammich

I’ll say it again. If we can score quickly.

    • CrackSammich

      …nevermind.

  • DJH

The Doug haters coming out of the woodwork are hilarious. The plays were there, players failed to execute. Blount down on 1 yard line, Alshon hold. Ags opens with green in front several times. Fumble on the 1 yard line. Etc.

Russ is a freak. And Seattle tough at home. With refs.

    • xeynon

This was not Doug’s best game and I think it’s fair to criticize several decisions he made.

That said, people saying he’s now a terrible coach are ridiculous and should shut up.

      • laeagle

Exactly. Criticism is fair. Monkey shit throwing needs to go far, far away.

  • Howie Littlefinger

I just want us to win now so we can be ranked #2 or lower anyways

  • TXEaglesFan

    Man we miss peters

  • meteorologist
    • xeynon

I think that take is about right.

They’re not clearly the best team in the league, but I didn’t think they were coming into this week. They’re still right there with NE, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and New Orleans.

  • Someguy77

Wagner has been really good too

  • sonofdman

Are you fucking kidding me with that shit?

  • TXEaglesFan

Eff you refs one last time

  • Spooonius

I do not agree with that call.

    • anon

      Punt to end the game

  • meteorologist

This is good. We can peak again come playoffs time. Don’t waste it all now lol

  • teltschikfakeout88

Seattle D wins the super bowl shit talking

    • GENETiC-FREAK

      Ive noticed that

  • kajomo

HOW is that play any different than the graham play. Tale of the fucking game

  • xeynon

Not that it cost us the game, but we did not get any calls in our favor this week.

  • RC5000

Gotta help Seattle get in playoffs.

  • ChoTime

Imagine how awful it’d be if Sherman was inn there, talking smack

    • xeynon

I think it’s worse giving up an INT to a crappy cornerback like Maxwell.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      No thank you

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Eh

  • sonofdman

    Fuck Maxwell

    • TXEaglesFan

      1000 Times

    • Spooonius

I dug the urban hang suite, but most of the stuff after that was boring.

    • teltschikfakeout88

Agreed…he got paid by philly and then was toasted regularly and made too many business decisions on his poor tackling

    • laeagle

Seriously, why did it have to be him?

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Vaitai giving up the sack

  • Someguy77

Finally a good throw in the flat

    • A_T_G

      Turn it off now.

  • CrackSammich

i guess that shoulder into the rec evik u-] AR EYOU FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH NO REPLAY AGAIN IM SO GLAD FOR COMMERCIALS NFL IS THE GREATEST SPORT IN THE WORLD

    • GENETiC-FREAK

60min game turned into 3hours lol

  • CTbirdsguy

Jesus what did Carson see there.

    • A_T_G

That it was going to take a miracle.

      • CTbirdsguy

I would’ve rather gone for the miracle after trying to score normally and getting an onside kick

      • daveH

The big kid needed to toss it 60 air yards just to get it out of his system ..

    • ChoTime

      Hail Mary, which implies prayer.

  • John Luck Pickerd

Lord Byron ironically ends the game. I hate that guy.

  • daveH

    Still a low hike

  • DJH

If anything, you could accuse Doug of being too conservative in the 1st half.

    • laeagle

      That is a valid criticism.

  • Ark87

Did Aghs even look for it? Looks like he was begging for PI

  • Someguy77

    Favre stupidity there

    • meteorologist

      Great comp for that play

  • RC5000

Carson 314 yards on bad night. Still tough place to play even with guys out. AND conservative play calls in 1st half.

  • ChoTime

Whelp, chances are if we see them again, it will be in Philly.

    • xeynon

I think it’s a different game in Philly.

That said, I don’t remotely want to see them again.

      • laeagle

Oh, I want to see them again. And soon.

      • ChoTime

Me neither. The more we can stay away from elite QBs, the better! That’s why the Vikes and Rams are less scary to me.

  • GENETiC-FREAK

    Vikings move to no.1 NFC.

    • RC5000

We need Rodgers back in 2 weeks for revenge. Or unlikely Carolina upset.

    • xeynon

The Vikings still have two tough games left – at Carolina who need a win to ensure a playoff spot, and at Green Bay on Dec. 23rd who likewise will need a win and will have Rodgers back in all likelihood.

I think the chances they go 14-2 are pretty minimal. Not too worried about what the seeding is now.

  • dandynator

jimmy graham auto slip call, that torrey short spot, that FOWARD pass, the 4-5 call they had on 2nd and 3rd down. refs really fucked us

    • Someguy77

      No

  • Spooonius

I honestly was hoping that they would take a shot on that play. Oh well. It would have been nice if it worked.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Well now I’m sure they’re gonna slam the rams

    This sucked

  • teltschikfakeout88

    Awful decision

    • xeynon

Desperate situation. You’ve got to take chances when you’re down two TDs with 2:30 to go.

      • CTbirdsguy

I just think that was too early to chuck up a prayer. Plenty of time to run normal offense to try to score, and onside kick…unlikely but still a better chance to win than making that throw

      • teltschikfakeout88

You gotta get a score to even get to the onsides kick…2:30 left is not the time to chuck it up and hope the wr makes a play on a jump ball

  • Spooonius

I still feel the same way about the Eagles. But damn, Russel Wilson is at the top of his game right now.

  • Mitchell

Would of liked to beat more than 1 playoff team this year…

    • xeynon

      Next week.

  • shah8

Been googling. The announcers didn’t know the rules on the lateral. What matters is vis-a-vis the player, not absolute field positions. In other words, a ball that was passed back, but still went forward at completion is still a lateral. Wilson’s play was probably legal, and what would make it illegal is if Wilson pitched it forward relative to him…

    • GENETiC-FREAK

Yip i had no problem with it. Its like how we play Rugby back home. Its depends on the release of the ball which is back momentum will make the ball go forward.

    • meteorologist

Wow. Big if true. Thanks for researching

    • TXEaglesFan

I don’t understand, if both players are standing still it would be obvious how to apply the rule, drawing a literal lateral line. Why is it applied different if they are running?

    • xeynon

Really? Thought it was the opposite. Maybe different rules between NFL and lower levels?

    • RC5000

Why does it matter where the player WAS before the catch?

    • daveH

The NFL writing the rules of physics. . Classic!

    • laeagle

Wait, what? That makes no sense.

      • daveH

What, you don’t trust the NFL rules to prepare you for 8th grade physics ??

    • daveH

What about a pass caught before it was thrown?

      • TXEaglesFan

You mean if somebody invented time travel. That would really open up the playbook.

        • daveH

It has been invented .. but in the future..we just haven’t caught up yet .. time = distance

        • laeagle

          It has to be indisputable.

          Or not.

    • ChoTime

Interesting. I certainly didn’t see anything wrong with it, but everyone else was saying it was clear as day…

  • Someguy77

After tonight the mvp race is Wilson and Brady

    • CrackSammich

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about it.

    • xeynon

Nah, Wentz is still in the running.

      Don’t overreact to one game.

      • Someguy77

Nah. This kind of game sticks with voters due to national audience in prime time

        • xeynon

It might, but there’s still football to be played. If Wentz makes huge plays in a decisive game down the stretch this game will be forgotten.

No question it hurts his chances but it’s a 16 game season.

          • Someguy77

Brady Rodgers and Wilson and everybody else yet. Rodgers is the best overall but Brady is the best ever still defying time.

          • xeynon

I agree with that ranking but “best” does not necessarily mean “most valuable”.

    • daveH

Winning that does nothing for us anyway

      • Howie Littlefinger

        SBMVP all that matters.

I expect the team to grow from this. Hope Ertz is ok

        • daveH

          Dilly dilly.
          (Sorry)

  • Allen3000

Welp, on to the next one. I didn’t anticipate us getting dominated in the trenches to the degree we did tonight. Something was definitely off with this team tonight. Failed to execute and got some bad breaks with officiating. I expect a different team next week though.

    • Someguy77

OL struggled tonight a bit but the DL played well

      • meteorologist

Yeah I didn’t see us getting “dominated” in the trenches

        • Allen3000

Should have clarified. Our OL struggled much more than usual tonight and we didn’t respond well to that pressure.

          • meteorologist

            Vaitai in particular

          • laeagle

            Vaitai did struggle.

      • xeynon

We ran the ball decently and Wentz was well protected on a majority of his dropbacks. The OL gave up some key pressures and sacks but I don’t think on the whole they struggled.

  • Spooonius

    Hail Mary! Hail Mary!!

  • Mitchell

Time to slaughter the Rams. Igs gonna be pissed next week.

  • Masked Man

Burn the film. On to LA! Go Eagles!

(Good experience in case we have to see that team again. Hope not though.)

    • xeynon

I know you’re joking, but this is one where you definitely DON’T want to burn the film. Lots of missed opportunities that make this a different game if we execute on them. You want the young guys watching that and learning from it.

  • Someguy77

Next week creeps into a must win now

    • Masked Man

In order to meet our goal of #1 overall seed we need to win it.

      • Someguy77

        Need the first round bye

  • TXEaglesFan

On to the next one. I say this loss is mostly on Wentz missed throws and fumble and non aggressive play calling 1st half. Plus no challenge on that play. ONLy concern I have coming from this is if Wentz is a little nervous about his blindside with Vaitai. Next week is Robert Quinn. Be good to see his this team responds.

    • Masked Man

Clark brought a lot of pressure from the blind side on V tonight.

      • xeynon

Some of it was stunts and blitzes, wasn’t all on Big V. That said this was his worst game of the season by a fair margin.

    • shah8

      Quinn isn’t what he was.

      • shah8

LA’s DL can be beat like Atlanta’s DL is beat. They’re small and fast, so what you do is beat the bleep out of them, over and over until they slow down.

        • xeynon

Agreed, they like to penetrate too. Next week would be a good game to break out some of those trap plays where Brooks just decapitates a gap-shooting DT.

    • xeynon

I am honestly more worried about Aaron Donald than I am about Quinn.

  • xeynon

Tough loss, but nobody should be jumping off a bridge.

We’ve been beating up on cupcakes for a while which has obscured the fact that this team still has weaknesses. We were always going to have to up our game to win the Super Bowl and this loss hopefully makes that reality crystal clear to the team.

HUGE game next week. We will find out if they’re a legit contender or if they still need a little more time in the oven by how they rebound against the Rams.

    • meteorologist

      Weakness 1: Vaitai

      • xeynon

He definitely wasn’t great tonight, but one of Clark’s sacks was a well-executed stunt where he looped inside the tackle. Hard to tell if that is Big V’s fault or Wisniewski’s. Pressure came from blitzes as well. Wentz had plenty of time to throw on a majority of his dropbacks.

      • daveH

And e don’t have an RB or TE that can help him … Maybe Clement a little at best

  • nicolajNN

I’ve been dreading a let-down game for weeks, it finally came. 15-1 was always going to be highly unlikely. Back to reality, especially for the fans. Not the end of the world

We weren’t completely outplayed, per se, a few key plays really hurt us. Still sloppy play through, need to learn from the game.

Finally, the refs didn’t cost us the game, but fuck them, and damn it if they didn’t make it that much more of an uphill battle. Some missed holding on the D-line were especially infuriating.

  • Someguy77

First game all year where WENT played poorly and his accuracy and decision making got exposed

    • xeynon

His decision making was fine – he wasn’t misreading coverages or throwing to the wrong guy.

Accuracy definitely was an issue though. If he hits on three throws he missed (the two to Agholor and the one to Barner on 4th down) we probably win the game.

      • laeagle

This is so accurate and important. People keep throwing around football-y-sounding terms like “decision making”, “preparation”, “game planning”, etc., with little to no connection to what they actually mean. I get so pissed off at stupid criticism because it completely covers up the real things that can be criticized and learned from.

In this case, your precision is stating that his “decision making” was not at fault is exactly right. He didn’t make many bad decisions, but he had a number of bad throws. It’s important to be clear and correct with criticism so you know what you’re talking about. For us, it’s stuff to keep an eye on in the future. For the team, it’s stuff to evaluate and work on. How can they possibly improve if they’re bitching to one another about “game planning” and “decision making”, nebulous things that don’t have much connection to reality and thus cannot serve as a point of improvement?

TL;DR: Your statement about accuracy is precisely accurate.

        • Someguy77

He threw a needless INT to clinch the game and locked into a receiver tonight and threw to him especially in the first half.

          • xeynon

Meh. Down 14 with two minutes to go you have to take risks. Not bothered by that.

As for “locking on to a receiver”, I have no idea what you’re talking about, or even how you could determine that without knowing the playcalls/watching the all-22.

          • Someguy77

Judging how many times he looked to one side of the field and wanted to get the ball out quickly.

Your right you need the All 22 though

          • laeagle

            yeah, i didn’t see that.

          • Someguy77

In the first half but not nearly as much in the 2nd half

  • Sean E

Poor showing from Doug, and not Wentz’s best night either. Painful loss 🙁

  • Howie Littlefinger

    December Ertz WHERE ARE U???

    • CrackSammich

In the tent and/or not being thrown to.

  • SteveH

In critical moments this team came up short today. The players I can chalk up to a learning experience but Doug missing a layup on that forward pass is just hard to excuse. There was plenty of time and plenty of looks between plays, simply no reason not to challenge.

Hopefully Wentz learns more about being a big game quarterback from this because he made some critical mistakes.

Vaitai also exposed as a problem tonight. He’s like 4th or 5th on the list of reasons the Eagles lost but it’s still evident that he’s going to be a problem for us. He was getting toasted by fucking Frank Clark, it’s not like Khalil Mack or someone was beating him like a rented mule.

Really though the other 4/5 of the OL played well (Lane completed dominated Michael Bennett), Nelson Agholor obviously was a beast tonight.

The gameplan was pure trash, the fact that we weren’t throwing downfield at all in the first half was a travesty, especially in light of how easy it was in the 2nd half.

Schwartz’s zero blitz was moronic. Russell Wilson is the absolute last quarterback you run that play against. Mobile and can throw a mile from any platform, easily put it in space for his guy to make the play. Run the 0 blitz against less mobile QB’s Jim.

    • P_P_K

      Lane Johnson was outstanding.

      • TXEaglesFan

He’s got to be All Pro the way he’s played

    • Masked Man

But Wilson threw over the top of the pressure a lot. That’s dangerous to blitz predictably with him. They are very fundamentally sound on offense and defense.

  • SteveH

Doug says they didn’t get all the looks, that’s bullshit, they had that on the TV replay before the snap, and they didn’t hustle to the line either. He’s just covering for the booth fuckup.

    • xeynon

If it was the booth that fucked up (and that’s probable – any coach would challenge if they knew that was a forward pass given how critical a play it was), you want him covering for them. Part of being a leader who commands the respect of your team is a “the buck stops here” approach. Start publicly throwing guys under the bus, even if it is their fault, and you very quickly end up in Chip Kelly/Ben McAdon’t territory.

Best advice I’ve ever heard about leadership: “A good leader claims less of the credit than they deserve when things go well and accepts more of the blame than they should when things go poorly.”

      • ChoTime

But bad advice for a General Manager 🙂

  • Sean E

One thing to point out is that playing a good team in a very advantageous stadium is a really difficult game to win. There’s a reason we were the first team since 2012 to be favored at Seattle.

The good news is that a rematch would probably be in PHI. We just need to win some more games, enough to ensure we get a first round bye. HFA would be nice, but 1st round bye is what is so important IMO.

  • mtn_green

Seems like Seattle got one touchdown with 3 or four first downs from refs on really ticky tacky holds and PI (eagles offense didn’t got those calls) and another TD on a PI that wasn’t, Darby ran a better route than wr and wr couldn’t get through him.

    • laeagle

There were definitely some ticky tack calls against us, including the Darby play you cite. But there were others the other way, too, like the Darby hand inside the helmet thing. I think it was a good no call because it seemed incidental (he wasn’t trying to get his hand in there to affect the play), but that kind of thing wouldn’t have pissed me off it if was called.

But yeah, there were some pretty frustrating calls in there. Not why we lost, but it didn’t help the cause.

      • Someguy77

Exactly what Wilson did after the game

    • xeynon

The margins in the playoffs when you’re playing other good teams are razor-thin. Gotta be able to overcome the occasional bad call.

Not why we lost the game, at all.
