We have a surprise inactive. MLB Dannell Ellerbe is out. Not sure if this is due to injury or the fact he’s just not been very good. Najee Goode will likely take his place at MLB in the base defense.
DT Destiny Vaeao is back in the rotation. Don’t expect him to play a lot, but he’ll probably get on the field here and there.
No other surprises on the list.

FS Andrew Sendejo is playing today for the Vikings. I’m surprised he came back so quickly from that nasty hit he took last week.

Seems like all the intangibles favor the Eagles, for whatever that’s worth.
The Vikings are coming off a miracle win. Those teams tend to lose the next week.
The Eagles are the underdogs and that has given the players an extra bit of motivation.
The Eagles are the home team and play lights out at The Linc.
Dome teams struggle on the road in the postseason.

Playing with the lead or in a close game is crucial for the Eagles. If they get down a couple of scores, that gives the Vikings a big advantage. The Eagles played with the lead for most of the year. Last week was back and forth, but even when they trailed it wasn’t by much. There was never real pressure on Foles or the Eagles.
No matter what happens, it sure does feel good to have the Eagles playing in big games again. Playoff football is the best.

I was going into this game feeling good, like if we lose, owell we lost Wentz, shouldn’t even be here, this is house money. But if the Jags win this somehow, that changes everything. Missing out on a chance to play the Jags for the SB would be devastating.

Brady was downright scary in that second half, pass every down against the best passing D and they couldn’t even slow him down in the slightest. Those little WR’s would be trouble for us if we win tonight.
They did hold him to 14 points though.
Fucking AJ Boye played terrible, and the Jags were so goddamn conservative in the 2nd half.

Same story as the super bowl. Jacksonville gets conservative too early, thinks there defense can hold, it can’t. Fucking teams make the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over and over against the Pats.

When they were nursing that lead, they ran up the middle and got stuffed on literally every first down.
AR gets criticized for not doing that.
Context matters, AR refused to run against any front. Jacksonville was running at a front loaded to stop runs up the middle.
I think they were just trying to keep NE honest, cause they did go play action on about 1/2 of those 1st downs. Problem was, NE didn’t even care if they completed a pass on 1st down cause they knew Jax would go right back to the run.
Sometimes you need to keep passing in that situation until you get a team out of its 8 man front. Even if Blake Bortles is your QB.
Yep. They played not to lose, full stop. Much as I hate the Patriots, the pure football fan in me is glad they won, because I hate to see bad strategy and a chickenpoop mentality rewarded.

Nobody wanted to see the Jags and Eagles. They would practically asterisk that super bowl and write it off as capping off a bizarre year. At least playing New England makes it legit for either us or the Vikings.

Still would be an ugly game with the Eagles vs the Jags, a lot of casual viewers just want to watch to see good football. But yes, no one likes Brady/Belichick. I’ll be upset if they win another superbowl.

I don’t think Keenum’s a franchise qb, but he’s been very, very good for the Vikings this season. He was at least average playing for Jeff Fisher which we’ve come to realize is miraculous. He ain’t bad, but idk yet if he’s special either. Do it again, Case and we’ll talk.

Tarkenton was my favorite QB growing up. He and Staubach were scramblers. That was a,modern style back then.
Foles was very, very good for the Eagles in 2013 – even better than Keenum was this season. I don’t think one good season tells enough about whether a guy is good or not.
One of the few who thinks Foles was better than we tend to give him credit around here. Kelly both made and ruined him. Then Jeff Fisher made sure he was completely ruined and AR pulled him back off the scrap heap. Hoping we get two more solid games out of him.
well, maybe he is. He played like it this year. I can’t say for sure he’s not one of the top 20 QBs in the league.Time will tell.
He had two (barely) 300 yard passing games. I watched several of their games. He seemed like nothing more than a game manager and never had to carry the team.

Last time we made it to the Super Bowl, we beat Minnesota and Atlanta and then face NE in the Super Bowl. We already beat Atlanta and NE is waiting for us in the Super Bowl. Time to take out Minnesota!

Someone here made a similar comment last Sunday. I was surprised too, and wracked my brain to think of an example of a positive play he made. I couldn’t come up with one. At best, he was unspectacular and solid. That shouldn’t be underrated, but is a low ceiling.

I agree to mix it up, but Darby runs a 4.36 40. He doesn’t need to give up 10 yard cushions. Mills is a different story.
I haven’t been thrilled with Darby’s play down the stretch, but you’re right that he’s a burner.
He seems to play bad when he’s off as he jump routes. When he plays tight man, he doesn’t seem to get beat by double moves.
