They Won

PHI 15
ATL 10

Nick Foles might have actually outplayed Matt Ryan.

The defense was great.

I forgot just how nerve-wracking playoff games are. Wow, what an emotional 3 hours.

Great finish. Now on to the NFC title game!!!

_

  • Allen3000

    First!!!

    • daveH

Nice insight after a crazy Game

  • SteveH

I feel like I just ran a marathon. I love these birds, they compete like no other team we’ve had in a long time.

  • Ian

I’m exhausted right now and yet I can’t sleep

    • SteveH

I haven’t been this emotionally drained after a game since the super bowl. When we stopped them there was a brief burst of joy, and then I just felt really tired lol.

  • PhanFromAfar

    Phan’s key observations:

    1) Football is won or lost in the trenches.
    2) Defense wins the postseason.
    3) Foles haters are the dumbest fucks on the planet.

    Fly. Eagles. Fly.

  • Allen3000

I don’t want to go overboard with praise bc there were plenty of mistakes to go around (careless fumbles, missed pat and sloppy special teams), but I’m really happy with the team effort and their composure in big moments. They stayed the course and have rightfully earned their spot in the NFC Championship. I feel great for a lot of the vets who haven’t experienced much playoff success in midnight green.

  • daveH

    Holy sheeeeeeeeee yat !!!!!
    Holy sheeeeeeeeee yat !!!!!
    Holy sheeeeeeeeee yat !!!!!

  • RC5000

It’s really how I thought we had to win it. D, running the ball, some plays by Nick, bit ugly. But didn’t expect to have to overcome turnovers .

    • DarthBanner

Yep. The eagles playoff success hangs on good defense, running the football successfully, and foles managing the game competently. Do those 3 things and the eagles can beat any team.

  • daveH

    DOUG emerging great Eagles coach

    • Patrick

      Wentz MVP.
      Doug COTY.

    • nicolajNN

The commentators focused a lot on the run/pass option, but going hurry up on some of the last drives likely helped Foles a lot as well. great job by Doug

  • John Luck Pickerd

    I LOVE THIS TEAM

  • RC5000

Ags and Clement did some little things to help and Jeffery was not spectacular but he came up big when Foles needed it.

    • PhanFromAfar

I wouldn’t call Ags’ sweeps little things. I’d call them huge things. Absolutely LOVE how that guy has emerged this year.

      • daveH

Ags has such a far better attitude and I’m glad for him

    • wallacemnw

Clement is one heck of UDFA signing.

      • daveH

UDFA Rookie of the year imho

      • PhanFromAfar

So was Burton. His lead block on the Blount TD run was freakin’ epic!

    • wee2424

AJ catch with 1 second remaining in the half to get the long FG reminded of the Giants game.

      • daveH

        Identical !

      • FairOaks

That was virtually identical it seemed. 13ish seconds left, pass play to Alshon goes incomplete. 7 seconds left, pass complete in long FG range with 1 second left.

        • wee2424

          Same route I believe.

  • Sam Morey

Down to the last play. Good god, that was stressful

    • wee2424

      Yup. Julio straight dropped that.

      • Jarock

Out of bounds even if he hung on to the ball.

      • Bert’s Bells

Mills was in position with a hand in his face. Also forced him out, his foot landed in chalk.

        • wee2424

I’m not trying to disqualify Mills coverage. It was as good as it could have been for someone his height. Wasn’t aware foot was out of bounds.

          • DarthBanner

Yup, came down on the chalk. I have been hard on Mills all season, bht he was clutch today.

          • wee2424

I like him more then Darby.

        • Ankerstjernen

Mills excels in the red zone where receivers cant beat him with long speed and things get physical. He is not afraid of fighting through contact at the release point and he never gives up on a play where the QB extends, like Ryan did on that one. Its notable that they had him in man coverage vs julio on the outside, yet double teamed their no 2 receiver who was running the in-breaking route from the slot. They trust him to handle that situation.

  • Billy Bob

    Hats off to Doug!!!

  • Bert’s Bells

Refs did a good job. Announcers did a good job. Cox was amazing.

    • Ark87

They were a little ticky tacky early, but they rounded into shape as the game went on.

      • Duracell

Thought the 3rd down catch near the end should have been overturned, but it wasn’t egregious.

        • Jarock

That was a coin flip. As an Eagles fan, of course I wanted it to be called incomplete, but I would have been outraged had the Eagles lost a catch on that.

        • FairOaks

I don’t think you can overturn that. He had a pretty firm grip with one hand all the way through it seemed. Thought stands was the right call.

        • Bert’s Bells

It looked like a catch to me, but who can tell anymore.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Collinsworth had some strong hate on us. Other than him , yeah ur right they really stepped up for the playoffs

      • Iskar36

When? I know a lot of fans say that, but he was giving tons of praise to Cox, Foles and the Eagles throughout the game.

        • Howie Littlefinger

Every movement except the end of the game when we obvisouly won. Its ok Michaels had our back all game

      • FairOaks

        Didn’t hear any.

      • P_P_K

During the pre-game he was very positive about Foles and the Eagles chances.

        • Howie Littlefinger

I didn’t hear pregame. I trust u guys but he seems like a hater. Every call he sides against us.

That play where Sanu clearly dropped it, he was adamant about his “Strong hands on that catch”

          • Bert’s Bells

He also came down clearly that it should/would be reversed.

      • Bert’s Bells

        No he didn’t.

    • slackerjoe

Replay officials seemed to get them all correct too. Thumbs up!

  • nicolajNN
  • mtn_green

    Eagles defense gotta love it!!!!

  • mtn_green

Falcons only scored off turnovers. Eagles defense crushed them.

  • slackerjoe

Great team effort. Can’t say enough good things about the defense!
Game balls to Doug P, Foles, the O-line, the entire D, and Jake Elliott.

  • ChoTime

The way Dug got Foles going by channeling 2013 is just so inspired. I loved how the Eagles ran over them one series, and Foles Chip Kelley’d them the next. I love to see a coach who can adjust. I also love the aggressiveness and that Dug hasn’t dialed back that stuff. Sometimes you’ll lose from the gutsy calls, but more often you’ll win–you have to take both to get the advantage from the overly conservative playcalling in the NFL.

It was also great to see that the horrible sloppiness of the first half got taken care of. Without those 4 turnovers, this game would have been much different. Perhaps we do have a chance next week if we can keep things tight.

    • daveH

Doug quickly emerging as one of the All time great Eagle coaches .. keep it rolling

      • Jarock

Terrible interview, but so is Bellichek and no one cares. Keep it up, Doug.

        • ColorSgt

If he keeps winning nobody will care.

        • xeynon

Handling the media in interviews or press conferences is literally the last attribute on the typical coaching candidate checklist I care about.

          • Howie Littlefinger

Nobody told him he didn’t have a chance. He was called the worst coach hire ever and even more so the worst candidate ever.

He has my utmost respect. DP is Philly

        • Iskar36

And the interviews have gotten A LOT better.

        • daveH

Out of state. .wish i could see it

    • xeynon

Doug has the lack of ego you see in all great coaches.

He’s not wedded to doing it “his way”. He just wants to win. I get the feeling he’d run the triple option or the statue of liberty if he thought that’d be the best way to move the ball past the sticks or into the end zone.

Plus he’s very solid on stuff like challenges, timeouts, and 4th down decisions.

As thrilled as I am about Carson, I’m equally thrilled with Doug. I think he’s a top 5 NFL coach.

      • P_P_K

        Yes.

    • ColorSgt

Thought he was going to go for it on 4th and goal. If they didn’t make it, they would have lost. Aggression is good, but have to be smart. He was smart there.

      • Jarock

He goes and makes it and we’re not all reaching for alkaSeltzer.

        • ChoTime

Yeah, I think the deal is he actually should have gone for it, but it was basically 50-50.

          • ColorSgt

            Falcons couldn’t convert on 4th and goal…

        • ColorSgt

          Very true.

      • Dragon_Eagle

Agreed. My only criticism there was they took a time out to avoid the delay of game penalty. Why waste a timeout for those five yards? Makes it a 24 yard FG instead of a 19 yard FG. Not the right call IMO.

    • jshort

Took the 1st half to knock off the rust.

  • P_P_K

Merrill Reese said something like, If Doug Pederson is not Coach of the Year they should suspend voting and not give out the award.

    • Bert’s Bells

      He’s a homer doofus.

  • bobeph

    root for the saints tomorrow

    • Duracell

Disagree. We match up really well with the Vikings.

      • bobeph

no, the vikings d is great, they’ll knock your teeth out, brees had a bad record in the cold, the vikes will force foles to win the game and shut the run game down, we have a better chance against the saints

        • fran35

Yep, he was terrible in the cold in the 2013 playoffs too. Then he came to Philly

    • jshort

I’ll be rooting for both teams to beat the hell out of each other.

  • ColorSgt

In case you didn’t see the game or read the article or even the head line and came straight to this post, the Eagles won. Maybe you saw the game and saw the headline and read the article but didn’t believe it, I’ll say it again. The Eagles won!

  • ACViking

Doug Pederson basically just told the media to shove their articles up their butts

    • xeynon

      He’s earned it.

  • RC5000

Geriatric Bowl: 80 year old Dick Lebeau vs. 40 year old Tom Brady.

    • Howie Littlefinger

That explains all the Depends commercials

  • Ark87

Woof, haven’t hear Stoutland’s name in an age. Come to think of it, he’s done pretty well. Vaitai and Wiz stepping up and standing out. Not going to gush for him, because after those 2 is horrifying. Really wish he could have rounded Seumalo into shape.

    • meteorologist

How bout that Vaitai pancake in the 1st quarter!

      • Ark87

Those dudes were running an IHOP tonight. Great day for the men in the Trenches, of both units.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Go Titans!

  • Howie Littlefinger

Schwartz stock just go up in anybody else book?

    • Jarock

Tampa should nab him. He owns the Falcons.

      • Howie Littlefinger

Both sides of the ball had a great game plan

That S/T turnover had me thru the roof. That shit needs to stop. We played sloppy and still won, it shouldn’t have even been that close

        • PhanFromAfar

My take on that was a lack of experience on Barner’s part. It looked like the wind was blowing the ball around like a knuckleball and Barner freaked out. He didn’t call the guys off early enough so they got tangled up in the fracas. I doubt that would have happened if Sproles had been back there.

          • jshort

As soon as that happened Sproles came to mind

  • ACViking

    Weather next Sunday evening . . .

Falling into the 40s w/ wind gusting up to 16 mph.

    • meteorologist

Too far away to say with any confidence

      • ACViking

The projected forecast 3 weeks ago was right on the money.

But you never know, that’s true.

        • truehaynes

the projected forecast i belive called for mid 30’s

        • xeynon

That is more of a “blind squirrel finds an acorn” thing though. Forecasts from 10 days or a week ahead of time were significantly less accurate.

      • Howie Littlefinger

I trust your forecast… username checks out

      • A_T_G

Pssh, what would you know, (*checks handle*) …meteorologist.

        Oh, never mind.

    • jshort

      only dome teams left.

    • Ark87

That’s the big QB equalizer. Which is why I slightly prefer the Saints. We are pretty even with both teams, but the big part of that in the Saints equation is the Brees is so much better than Foles. The Linc blunts that advantage a tad, and I think the Eagles are a better team all around to swing the odds in our favor.

      • ACViking

        No question.
        I wouldn’t mind avoiding Keenum’s scambles

      • Jarock

Philly is better overall than both teams, but I’d rather not see Brees, eve if the weather is bad.

        • Ark87

Their defense scares me. Serious danger of a shut out in poor weather.

          • Jarock

Minny has the best D in the playoffs. Offense isn’t as scary and who the hell knows what Keenum will do.

            N. O. is scarier on offense, but lacks depth. One injury totally changed their D earlier this year.

          • Ark87

Anon put it best, it would be like shadow boxing. We have a chance either way.

    • RobNE

      Too warm!!

  • RC5000

Largest QB age gap in NFL playoff history. Mariota & Brady…

  • kajomo

I don’t think we suffered any injuries. I expect the saints be Vikings game to much more physical. Hopefully they beat up on each other before the winner heads our way.

    • meteorologist

I actually think there might be something to that

    • Howie Littlefinger

Seemed like ATL would go down a lot or get out of bounds. Our D was too physical for them

    • xeynon

I’m basically hoping next week’s game is a carbon copy of this one, minus the early turnovers and plus a few takeaways.

Run the ball, get accurate, decisive throws from Foles to keep the defense honest when necessary, play hellacious defense, and rely on the cold, wind, and the hostility of the crowd to help stifle the opposing offense.

      • Howie Littlefinger

Cool to see u so optimistic….

I feel good about our next two games 🙂

        • xeynon

I think next week will be a tougher assignment but we will at the very least have a puncher’s chance.

          • Howie Littlefinger

I hope its just like it was the last two weeks. We suck , shouldn’t be here and have no shot….

  • RC5000

McLeod had a sack, a stuff, and a QB hit to go with 7 solo tackles.

Nigel with a sack, 2 stuffs, a pass defense and a QB hit.

    • A_T_G

      Graham was everywhere, too.

    • ACViking

      And a phantom penalty.
      Ridiculous call.

  • ACViking

Foles just told the media to shove their articles up the U-No-What

    • Jarock

      Hahahahaha

    • xeynon

Can you imagine the reaction if the NFL QB Final Four is Foles, Keenum, Mariota, and Bortles?

      • Jarock

OMG I’m crying from laughing so hard even thinking about it.

      • Dragon_Eagle

The next gen. Brees, Brady, and Rothlisberger are ancient. Time for them to go. Let’s do it.

        • xeynon

Maybe Mariota, but those other guys are journeymen.. next generation is Wilson, Newton, Wentz, Goff, Luck (if healthy).

    • anon

would be great Eagles vs Eagles showdown.

      Foles gets traded for Bradford
      Shurmur gets dumped for Pederson

Lots of familiarity on both sides.

Crazy Shurmur was a TE coach for Vikings last year – will be a HC next year.

  • Ankerstjernen

Unbelievable that the Eagles won after starting the game like this: having all three runningbacks fumble the ball on the first three drives, take a huge sack to go out of field goal range, give Atlanta the ball on the ten yard line on a failed punt recovery and subsequent penalty in the end zone and then miss an extra point. This is how they started the game. And this is how good the defense played today. The D made up for all of those mistakes. If you discount the TD from the punt mistake, they essentially allowed Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and those RBs exactly 3 points in the entire game. That is an outstanding accomplishment that I somehow expect people to dwell too little on in the coming days. What. A. Game. Those guys deserve credit. Cox earned that money today. So did Graham. And Curry. And Jernigan. And all of the rest of them. Wow.

  • Ark87

Sounded like Foles called Wentz an “frenemy” (Friend to me”)

  • xeynon

I’m a bit nervous watching this if I’m a Patriots fan. The Titans don’t appear to be afraid and Brady hasn’t been particularly sharp so far.

    • Jarock

No Pats fans allowed on this board

      • xeynon

Agreed, if the Patriots lose this game I’ll be delighted.

More commenting as a football fan.

Man, this Pats’ defense is bad.

        • RobNE

          Hopefully Steelers take advantage.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Go Titans!

corey davis w one handed td

    • Ark87

How upset would people be at an Eagles-Titans SB….that’s my dream

      • xeynon

I don’t think the Eagles fanbase could handle a Foles-Mariota Super Bowl QB matchup.

        • Dragon_Eagle

I think we’d sure like to try.

        • Howie Littlefinger

          Superbowl championChip here we come

      • Ark87

I think they actually won their jobs with the comeback last week if I’m not confabulating a statement from their owner (after they were preparing to fire everyone before the game). But they are earning it right now.

      • Howie Littlefinger

Well that was last week. No way they get fired after winning a play off game.

Would be twice as nice to see NE lose and the truth of that article will be revealed

  • Eagles4life

we get an extra day of preparation and rest for Sunday’s game next week

    • Howie Littlefinger

Someone kindly pointed that out to me last week. Thats why the #1 seeds play the Saturday games

  • RC5000

Dion Lewis big run to Tennessee 19 …then nice catch and run to 5.

  • xeynon

Hey, the Patriots stole Doug’s play!

    • Dragon_Eagle

      What else is new?

      • xeynon

        Well played.

  • Bert’s Bells

Sammy Sleeves is active for the Vikings. Maybe best for the Eagles if Minnesota wins tomorrow and they start him next week.

    • RC5000

      They’ll stick with Keenum no?

      • xeynon

They have to. You can’t bench Keenum after how well he played this season. You’d lose the locker room.

        • Bert’s Bells

          Yeah, they really have to.

    • xeynon

I like it. Have the back 7 septuple team the checkdown receiver and he won’t be able to move the ball a lick.

  • xeynon

    Dennis Kelly sighting!

    • Howie Littlefinger

Chung too. didn’t realize he still existed

      • quiyaomah

I hate watching that guy. He stole money from us for 2 F’n years!!

    • CrackSammich

      And Fluellen.

  • CrackSammich

What a game. That first half was probably the worst football I’ve watched this year, and we still managed. Coaching move of the game was deciding on the wind advantage for the 2nd/4th. Coach of the Fucking Year move right there. Fuck the guy I was arguing with earlier about the DL not pulling their weight. I’m sure you’re a nice guy, and I still absolutely respect you, but right now, and I’m sure you know what I mean; Fuck you. And most importantly, fuck the ref that decided that was a penalty on Braman, and fuck everyone in New York that thought that was a catch.

    • wee2424

4th down TD call was clutch.

  • CrackSammich

Wait, did I just hear that David King was inactive for one of these teams? Wasn’t he one of our 6th/7th round flyers a couple years ago? Our scouts need some credit because they are getting a lot right.

  • scratcherk

now where are those cowboys fans in the last thread that said the game was over after the first fumble?

    • DarthBanner

Haha, the cowboys that blew their division round game as a 1 seed last year despite being fully healthy?

      • jshort

That the same team with that star rookie QB they have slated for the Hall of Fame?

  • RobNE

Almost not fair when we pick up a SB win this year and THEN get Wentz back.

    • DarthBanner

Long way from that. Lets just hope for good defense, a solid running game, and competent Foles for next week.

      • RobNE

I’m just feeling good. Opening a 10 percent beer.

    • A_T_G

The first and third rounder we get for Foles will help get us over it.

      • Dude

        Pshhh

      • RobNE

From the Pats bc Brady is done?

  • A_T_G

That Rowe kid looks pretty good. What’s his story?

    • daveH

Drafted 2 slots ahead of Darby

      • CrackSammich

ugh. So Darby, in resources anyway, cost us two seconds + Matthews (another 2nd) – a 4th.

        • Howie Littlefinger

          Its the Dreads bro

        • daveH

Wow, good calculating .. at this point I’m happy with Darby and Rasul .. i know weve been starved for athletic DBs for a while … maybe the Schwartz just didn’t want to work work him .. ive let it go, I’ve let my dislike for andy go (but enjoy seeing all the exists foamy realise he can be a full retard tho )

      • A_T_G

That is interesting. I did not know that. I wonder if getting him and shipping out Rowe was correcting another power struggle Howie lost.

    • RobNE

I turned it off. I won’t sully my good mood.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Foles for a second rounder is looking possible again……

    • daveH

Think. . IF we did it … then traded Nick. ..and he gets his wing when he Visits… blech

      • Howie Littlefinger

Are u drinker than me I think maybe

        • daveH

(Intentionally speaking obtuse, in code, so i don’t jjnx us .. if we won ‘ Bowl of Soup’ and following season they hand out ‘wings’ )

          • Howie Littlefinger

I know lol thats what the upvote was for I just throwing some smoke over the comment to protect u from the possible backlash….

no backlash here tho, WE All We Need

          • daveH

“Drinker than me” had me beaming

  • A_T_G

Titans with possibly the dumbest TO usage since Chris Weber.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Last week was their Super Bowl

Pats always have a golden paved road in play offs

      • RobNE

        Always.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Halftime!!! Eagles highlights coming!!

  • Jarock

James Selzer about Doug Pederson, “He’s a great coach.”

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone in the Philly media question Doug more than James 😛

  • Tumtum

They played a pretty darn bad game, and were able to over come. Have we ever had a team that was able to win with such in-game adversity? -2 on the turnovers, and both were pretty back breaking. If anything the defense fed on the challenge.

I just really like this team of men. They are even rubbing off on Nick.

    • DarthBanner

They can run the bsll and play defense. Foles just has to stay competent and if things break right they’ll play in the super bowl with a decent chance to win it.

    • Howie Littlefinger

If Mills just comes down with one of the balls thrown to him it’s a blowout

      • Tumtum

The most aggregous drop int was 95.

        • Howie Littlefinger

Yeah that’s true forgot about that one

Nice. And for those without Twitter fingers, Jimmy was retweeting this:

    • xeynon

Which hot take has aged worse: Lombardi’s ”Pederson is the least qualified coach in NFL history”, or Cian Fahey’s ”Wentz is Blake Bortles but not as good”?

      It’s a tough call.

      • Jarock

As bad as Fahey’s was, Lombardi’s was worse. Pederson was coming off a solid season given he was playing a rookie QB who was named the starter about a week before the season.

Wentz still had questions going into his 2nd season. He really was meh down the stretch last year. Anyone who says they saw him exploding into an MVP candidate this year that’s not a complete homer, please buy me a lottery ticket.

        • Bert’s Bells

Going 7-9 your first year coaching pretty much proves you’re not the worst coach in the league.

        • xeynon

          I think that’s a fair argument.

The thing about Fahey’s, though, as that he continued to double, triple, and quadruple down on it this season, even as it became apparent to anyone with eyes that Wentz was an emerging superstar and an MVP candidate. I didn’t agree with him last year, at all, but he at least had an argument in that Wentz was spotty at times. But he’s refused to admit he was wrong.

I don’t listen to Lombardi’s podcast. Has he been similarly stubborn, or has he manned up and admitted he got this one wrong?

          • Jarock

Great point. Really don’t know. Fahey was guilty of the “don’t wanna be wrong,” mentality.

Lombardi was just trying to get his boy Jim Schwartz promoted.

      • Howie Littlefinger

I think they have aged just fine and look forward to them aging even more, like a fine wine 😉

      • Guy Media

Fahey just got canned. Hopefully that air yards douche and the Allbright character are next.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Do you still think Foles is Hoyer/ Fitzpatrick level or is he better?

      • CrackSammich

I’ll bump him up to Andy Dalton if that really makes you feel better.

        • Howie Littlefinger

Andy never won a playoff game. just wondering if it changes anything for u. For what Foles is , I like him. Just didn’t get why everyone was so down on him.

I trusted him more than Goff, Keenum, Mariota for what it’s worth

          • Jarock

I like Foles, but he’s got some serious flaws to his game. Unfortunately, they seem to have gotten worse instead of better.

I liked Foles when he was willing to take a sack instead of fading back forever when pressured. His accuracy has always been streaky. He’s not a great athlete, but tries to run as if he’s a good one which makes me nervous as !@#$.

I think under competent coaching with a staff who believed in him, he could have developed into a competent starter. He was never going to be a H.O.F. caliber QB, despite his ridiculous 1st year under Kelly.

          • Howie Littlefinger

Would u take Hoyer, Fitzpatrick, Savage or Yates over Foles?

That is what Crack was getting at and clearly username checks out with that.

I’m not even a real Foles apologist I just think it’s crazy to compare him to the above guys who have never done a thing in the NFL

          • Jarock

            Hoyer – no.
Fitz – maybe. A couple years ago, yeah. Right this moment, probably not.
            Savage – no.
            Yates – no.

          • xeynon

I think Fitzpatrick or Dalton is about the right comparison point for Foles.

These are all guys who can be highly effective with competent coaching, but are also capable of looking really bad at times, and can’t bail out a team the way higher tier QBs can.

    • Guy Media

Mike Lombardi needs to be tied to a poll and beaten with a belt until he recants.

      • CrackSammich

I don’t know why, but I am totally feeling your hyperbole tonight.

        • Guy Media

Win, lose, or draw (yes Donovan, you can have a tie game); I’ll bring it.

          • Jarock

Hahaha. Thanks for that. Donovan McNabb – “Well, I’ve never been part of a tie. I never knew that was in the rule book.” Dayam . . . . You’re a professional QB. You’d think you’d learn the rules.

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Crazy Thought here:

The defense only gave up a TD after the S/T turnover. ATL started in their own redzone….. What a great performance from the best unit on our team, maybe the best unit left playing football

    • DarthBanner

The defense is the reason the eagles still have a chance to go tova super bowl and even win it.

    • Jarock

Our D’s really good. Minny’s might be even better. We’ve got more O talent, but Nick vs. Keenum isn’t exactly a thrilling matchup.

      • xeynon

I think on paper Minny’s D is better than ours. But if it comes to that, I think playing at home and outdoors brings the Eagles’ D about up to parity.

Foles and Keenum at QB I think is fairly even, slight edge to Keenum because of his mobility. But I don’t think it’s a huge disparity at all. Both guys will need their skill players to make plays and the game will ultimately be decided in the trenches.

    • Guy Media

And the FG they gave up was also off of a turnover.

  • CrackSammich

Kempski posted a link to buy that dog mask and immediately broke China.

    • Guy Media

      Yup. Sold out.

  • CrackSammich

And how about that epic Mills finger wag?

    • Howie Littlefinger

Finger Wag Intangibles beat talent anyday
      (Culture)

      • Jarock

        Chip Kelly – “But . . . but measurables!!”

    • Guy Media

They need to make a Mills bobble hand figurine that finger wags for you.

      • daveH

The bobble Hand Doll is BRILLIANT

        • Guy Media

Thank you, it would rule. And Mills’s green hair makes for a cool figurine anyway.

          • daveH

Who else worud make a good doll figure ?? ..

      • A_T_G

They wouldn’t sell super fast, but they would be great value and draw plenty of attention.

    • xeynon

Jalen Mills isn’t a superstar.. nobody’s ever going to talk about making a receiver disappear to “Mills Island”. But he can play for my team any day.

      • Howie Littlefinger

He is the Corey Clement of CBs

        Doesnt run fast
        Isn’t the quickest
        Not the strongest
Will bust his ass every play

        • xeynon

It’s more than just effort, I think.

I hate the “this guy is just a football player” cliche, but it does seem to describe something about players like Clement and Mills. They have a certain intelligence and mental makeup that allows them to play faster, quicker, and stronger than they test on a track or in a weight room.

          • Howie Littlefinger

I feel like it’s mental reps and passion for the game

  • Guy Media

    Wow, great win.

We’re going to need 7s not 6s with stupid missed XPs or 3s to keep winning, but great win.

  • Jarock

And . . . this Patriots – Titans game is going as expected if not as hoped. Ugh.

    • Guy Media

The Patriots winning another title is my emotional hedge vs. the Wentz injury. If some slapdick team wins the title, I’ll always insist the Eagles would have won it with Wentz. If the Pats get one last one, I’ll tell myself that it wasn’t going to be the Eagles year anyway.

      • Jarock

Eagles with Wentz could handle this Pat’s team. They would not be able to stop Philly’s O. Brady would put up pts too, but I’d take Wentz’s cool as a cucumber 3rd down approach in that game.

        • Guy Media

If I convince myself of that I’ll be extra bitter.

          • Jarock

Wait til we get knocked out before you get bitter . . . might not happen 😀

          • Guy Media

I’m focused on a big win at home next week first.

      • CrackSammich

Would have been nice to have just one Doug/Wentz vs Bellichick/Brady matchup.

        • Guy Media

Super Bowl LIII will be in Atlanta. Could be us and Pats.

      • RobNE

        Take it back!!

        • Guy Media

I don’t have to live near those slugs. I’d be much more upset at a Steelers title.

  • Guy Media

All kinds of people who play daily fantasy getting all kinds of upset as randos keep scoring for the Pats.

  • CrackSammich

I’m joining the rest of degenerate America in cheering for the Tennessee backdoor cover in garbage time.

    • Guy Media

If they cut it to 28-13, will you be chanting “GO FOR 2?”

  • daveH
  • Insomniac

    Jags vs Patriots plz

    • Guy Media

The raw misery that would create in Pittsburgh would be epic.

  • SteveH

The Titans are composed of steaming shit, as was expected, but I would be furious about that first half officiating. How do 2 different Patriots false start, the call is made correctly, and then they reverse it and call it on the Titans? Huge momentum changer in the game, absolutely garbage officiating. If it wasn’t a playoff game I would have turned the TV off right there and done something more productive with my time like organizing balls of lint. When bad officiating has that big an impact on the biggest stage, it just takes any enjoyment at all out of watching the game.

    • ChoTime

      I just turned it off.

    • mtn_green

Kraft has a button to reverse those calls.

      • CrackSammich

Him too? I’ve got one of those at Buffalo Wild Wings.

  • SteveH

Oh yeah and a huge shout out to the kid who called Julio Jones a bum on the postgame show, if karma rewards the deserving that kid will be a legend. The balls to stare dead eyed into the camera and call Julio Jones of all people a bum for not coming down with the game winning catch, that’s a hall of fame move in my book.

    • xeynon

Julio Jones is T.O., but without the ego or the insane narcissistic theatrics.

Unbelievable player. Sometimes you just don’t come down with them though. Especially when you have to contend with the Green Goblin. 🙂

      • daveH

He didn’t come down with 2 of em. .. Darby on him on the left and Mills on the right

  • daveH

The Falcons shud just tell owner Art Blank to NOT come down onto the field any more

  • Eagles4life

Our players have deservedly earned a trip to TB12 next week!

    • or____

    • A_T_G

You are two weeks early with this post.

  • quiyaomah

Welp, looks like my wife and I are heading to Philly for the game. I figure no better place to be for a moment like this. New Mexico will be quiet next Sunday. Go Birds!!!!

    • quiyaomah

Might be asking you fine folks for some help with places to eat, events around town, general tourist info…

      • Guy Media

Good deal. I’m sure folks will have some good advice once you get your plans firmed up.

  • daveH

Rewatchng the ending .. Corey Clement was 1 hand slap from busting it 94 yards ..that wudve been insanity
