Gameday – DAL at PHI

This is it. Win and you’re in control. Lose and you’re on vacation.

Usually games of this importance feature a team with a winning record. That’s not the case in the Mediocrity Bowl, with both the Eagles and Boys sitting at 7-7. Someone should (and I emphasize should when it comes to the 2019 NFC East) come out of this with a winning record.

The Eagles do have Derek Barnett today and that’s big. He’s shown the ability to beat LT Tyron Smith so you want Barnett on the field. The Eagles DL must come up big today so it is important for them to have all their weapons.

No Jordan Howard. His stinger must be one tricky injury. Howard is normally a tough, durable player. For him to miss this much time, that has to be really bothering him. And you don’t mess around with a stinger. That can be very serious.

Are you feeling confident about Carson and the Kids?

ESPN’s panel this morning had 4 of 6 people picking the Eagles to win, and for a variety of reasons. I was surprised by that. I figured most people would be leaning to Dallas. Doesn’t matter obviously, but it is interesting to see what the perception of a team or game is.

No key players there beyond LVE. Dallas has been able to replace him with Sean Lee so that’s pretty good.

The Eagles will be short on talent, but they’re hungry and playing with an edge. They need to get off to a good start so the crowd can stay in the game and keep Dallas from getting comfortable.

Be smart.

Make plays.

Find a way to win.
