DAL 21, PHI 10 – 2nd Half

Dreadful 1st quarter. Whatever could go wrong, did go wrong. The Eagles came alive in the 2nd quarter, but still need to play a lot better.

The defense allowed Dallas to convert the first 4 times they faced 3rd down situations. That is the game as much as anything. You just can’t let Dallas keep their offense on the field. The Eagles did stop them the final 2 times so maybe that offers hope for the 2nd half.

The Eagles need a player or two to step up and make plays. The TEs helped the offense come alive in the 2nd Qtr. Connor Barwin got a key sack. We need more of that. And stop with the penalties. Ugh.

    It does seem like Chip found something with the TE’s. They’ve been absent for a few games. Maybe Dallas is focusing on Maclin and leaving the middle open. Matthews and Huff dropped passes over the middle too.

    To be fair, he also fumbled at the end (which is when I posted). Luckily he was down. We’ve seen plenty of big plays that suddenly went the other way because the runner/receiver fumbled trying to make a play.

    the ref said that Dallas is challenging hte ruling that it was a fumble, clearly recovered by Dallas. not sure if the rules allow for anything else to change.

    though i also imagine that part of the review process is also determining the new LOS, which in this case, *might* be the endzone. lol

    Generally I agree with that statement. Two problems with it.

    1. You have to play to your current rosters strengths. Given how bad our corners are, not helping them deep regularly seems silly.

    2. You have two corners who are probably at least as good if not better than the guys who are starting who can’t sniff the field because one isn’t tall enough and the other came in after Cary and Brad were ‘locked’ in as starters.

    Billy Davis and Chip Kelly, please show how intelligent you are and admit you are wrong about these guys!!!

    This is why losing last year hurt so much. Injuries have such a big impact on the shape a season will take. Sucked that last year was chips first year, but the next time, we are able to enjoy good health, we can’t have a letdown, we have to take dvantage of that situatipn next time when it presents itself, because we do t know when the next healthy year will be.

    Hopefully we can build the team round the QB more. Add quality depth, so that next time our starting QB goes down
    , we have better adds at overcoming having to play our backup QB
